The repetition rate of the laser is about 209 MHz. By controlling an intra-cavity electro- optic modulator and a piezo-transducer, the repetition rate can be stabilized with a high-bandwidth servo in a frequency range of 3 kHz, enabling long-term repetition rate phase-locking. The in-loop frequency stability of repetition rate is about 1.6× 10-13 in an integration time of 1 s, limited by the measurement system; and it is inversely proportional to integration time in the short term. Furthermore, using a common path f-2f interferometer, the carrier envelope offset frequency of the comb is obtained with a signal-to-noise ratio of 40 dB in a 3-MHz resolution bandwidth. Stabilized cartier envelope offset frequency exhibits a deviation of 0.6 mHz in an integration time of 1 s.展开更多

The results of characterization indicated that the oxygen and nitrogen contents in carbon fiber surface were significantly increased by electrochemical treatment, and amide groups was introduced onto it, which was related with the electrolyte. The AFM photographs illustrated that the roughness of the fiber surface was also increased. The wettibality of the fibers was improved after treatment because the surface energy especially the polar part of it was increased.展开更多

The results show that the gauge factor (fractional change in resistance per unit strain) of PAN-based carbon fibers is 1.38, which is lower than that of the commonly-used resistance strain gauge. These may due to that the electrical resistivity of carbon fibers decreases under tensile stress. In addition when the carbon fibers are stretched, the change of its resistance is caused by fiber physical dimension and the change of electric resistivity, and mainly caused by the change of physical dimension. The mechanical properties of carbon fiber monofilament were also measured.展开更多

Compared with conventional sensors, fiber optic sensors have a variety of exclusive advantages, such as smaller size, higher precision, and better corrosion resistance. These innovative monitoring technologies have been successfully applied for performance monitoring of geo-structures and early warning of potential geo- hazards around the world. In order to investigate their ability to monitor slope stability problems, a medium-sized model of soil nailed slope has been constructed in laboratory. The fully distributed Brillouin optical time-domain analysis (BOTDA) sensing technology was employed to measure the horizontal strain distributions inside the model slope. During model construction, a specially designed strain sensing fiber was buried in the soil mass. Afterward, the surcharge loading was applied on the slope crest in stages using hydraulic jacks and a reaction frame. During testing, an NBX-6o5o BOTDA sensing interrogator was used to collect the fiber optic sensing data. The test results have been analyzed in detail, which shows that the fiber optic sensors can capture the progressive deformation and failure pattern of the model slope. The limit equilibrium analyses were also conducted to obtain the factors ofsafety of the slope under different surface loadings. It is found that the characteristic maximum strains can reflect the stability of the model slope and an empirical relationship was obtained, This study verified the effectiveness of the distributed BOTDA sensing technology in performance monitoring of slope.展开更多

The stability equation applicable to fiber suspensions was established and solutions for a wide range of Reynolds number and angular frequency were given numerically . The results show that, the flow instability is governed by a parameter H which represents a ratio between the axial stretching resistance of fiber and the inertial force of the fluid. An increase of H leads to a raise of the critical Reynolds number, a decrease of corresponding wave number, a slowdown of the decreasing of phase velocity , a growth of the spatial attenuation rate and a diminishment of the peak value of disturbance velocity. Although the unstable region is reduced on the whole, long wave disturbances are susceptible to fibers.展开更多

Curing is an essential step in the preparation of SiC fibers and the properties of SiC fibers are affected greatly by curing conditions. TG measurement performed in air shows that mass gain starts at approximately 200℃ and PCS fibers are sensitive to oxygen. Curing with oxygen, which results in crosslinking on the surface, enabled PCS fibers to retain its shape during high-temperature pyrolysis. The curing of PCS fibers is oxidation of Si─H and Si─CH3, then Si─O─Si and Si─O─C bonds are formed. This is a first order reaction, with activation energy of 79.27 kJ/mol, and the pre-exponential factor is calculated as 3.07×106. The kinetics model was obtained and the experimental data of PCS fibers show good agreement with the kinetics model.展开更多

PAN spun fibers were stabilized in a convection oven with a constant tension for various times at 250℃. Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and gel fraction results suggested that intra and intermolecular stabilization reactions occurred simultaneously. X-ray diffractograms revealed a disruption of crystalline structure and an appearance of pre-graphitic structure of PAN fibers due to stabilization. These structural changes by stabilization resulted in the significant decrease of tensile properties of fibers. In Raman spectra with heat treated fibers from 400℃ up to 1200℃, the intensity ratio of the D to G bands (ID/IG) decreased as heat treatment temperature increased, indicating an increase of basal plane of graphitic layer of heat treated fibers. Tensile strength of heat treated fibers at 1200℃ was found to be as high as 2.2 GPa.展开更多

For this purpose, two series of concrete mixtures, including a 0.45 water/cement ratio was prepared both in the absence and presence of fiber. A CEMI 42.5 R type portland cement and crushed limestone aggregate with a maximum particle size of 25 mm were used. In addition to the control mixture without fiber, three different concrete mixtures were prepared by adding polypropylene fiber as 0.4%, 0.8% and 1% of total volume into the mixture. The time-dependent fresh state properties, strength, ultrasonic pulse velocity, transport properties, drying shrinkage and freeze-thaw resistance of concrete mixtures, sodium sulfate attack and abrasion were investigated comparatively. Test results demonstrated that utilization of fiber affected the fresh properties of the concrete mixtures negatively. However, the 0.8% fiber-bearing mixture showed the highest performance in terms of durability and dimensional stability. Beyond this utilization ratio, the durability performance of the concrete mixture was negatively affected. The risk of nonhomogeneous dispersion of the fiber in the mixture was relatively high in the excess fiber-bearing mixture. Consequently, with the formation of flocculation in the mixture the void ratio of concrete mixture increased.展开更多

For a two-family fiber-reinforced square sheet, which is in-plane symmetric and subjected to the in-plane symmetric tension in dead loading on the edges, three symmetrically deformed configu- rations and six asymmetrically deformed configurations are possible for any values of the loading. Moreover, another four bifurcated asymmetrically deformed configurations are possible for the loading beyond a certain criticM value. The stability of all the solutions is discussed in comparison with the energy of the sheet. It is shown that only one of the symmetric solutions is stable when the loading is less than the critical value. However, this symmetric solution will become unstable when the loading is larger than the critical value, while one of the four bifurcated asymmetric solutions will be stable.展开更多

文摘The coupling efficiency of hollow-core fiber changes with temperature, which leads to the decrease of the finesse(F)of fiber resonator and limits the performance of the resonant fiber optic gyroscope(R-FOG)system.Negative-curvature antiresonant fiber(ARF)can maintain single-mode characteristics under the condition of large mode field diameter, achieve efficient and stable fiber coupling, and significantly improve the consistency of the F of the spatial coupling resonator in variable temperature environment.A new type of ARF with a mode field diameter(MFD)of 25μm is used to fabricate a fiber resonator with a length of 5.14 m.In the range of 25℃-75℃,the average F is 31.45.The ARF resonator is used to construct an R-FOG system that shows long-term bias stability(3600 s)of3.1°/h at room temperature,4.6°/h at 75℃.To our knowledge, this is the best reported index of hollow-core fiber resonator and R-FOG system within the temperature variation range of 50℃ test.
文摘The influence of two-stage isothermal treatment on the change in the linear dimensions of the fiber, the average sizes of the coherent scattering regions, the texture and phase composition of the polyacrylonitrile fiber in the process of isothermal thermal stabilization is considered by the methods of dilatometry and X-ray diffraction analysis. It is shown that preliminary short-term heat treatment at a lower temperature affects the process of structural transformations of the polyacrylonitrile fiber material and the formation of a new highly dispersed phase of the thermally stabilized fiber.
文摘The effect of structural evolution polyacrylonitrile (PAN) on mechanical properties was investigated in stabilization and carbonization. Tensile strength of heat treated fibers at 1200℃ was found to be as high as 2.2 GPa.

文摘In this study, the durability performance and dimensional stability of polypropylene fiber reinforced concrete mixture were investigated. Consequently, with the formation of flocculation in the mixture the void ratio of concrete mixture increased.

文摘The problems on the non-uniqueness and stability of a two-family fiber- reinforced anisotropic incompressible hyper-elastic square sheet under equibiaxial tensile dead loading are examined within the framework of finite elasticity. However, this symmetric solution will become unstable when the loading is larger than the critical value, while one of the four bifurcated asymmetric solutions will be stable.
文摘To discuss the pavement performance of basalt fiber-modified asphalt mixtures, the optimum dosages of asphalt and fibers are studied by the Marshall test and the rutting test. The results demonstrate that the optimum dosages of asphalt and fibers are 4.63% and 0.3%,respectively.Then the pavement performances of basalt(polyester,xylogen)fiber-modified asphalt mixtures are investigated through high temperature stability tests, water stability tests and low temperature crack resistance tests. It indicates that the pavement performances of the fiber-modified asphalt mixtures such as rutting dynamic stability, freezing splitting tensile strength, low temperature crack resistance and so on are improved compared with control asphalt mixture. The results show that the pavement performances of asphalt mixtures can be improved by fiber-modifiers.Besides,the improvement effects of basalt fiber are superior to polyester fiber and xylogen fiber.
