Pd nanoparticles were selectively deposited and confined onto the DNA templates on a PDMS sheet to form Pd nanowires and then the nanowires were transferred to other various substrates with a low occurrence of par asitic nanoparticles. The structure, morphology and the conductance of Pd nanowires were characterized with transmission electron microscopy, field emission scanning electron mi croscopy, and electrical transport measurement, respectively. Moreover, the growth process of the Pd nanowires was investigated by varying the incubation time and reaction temper ature. The present strategy provides a new method to fabricate extremely dense, highly conductive, and well aligned Pd nanowires on various substrates, which make it promising for building nanosensors and nanoelectronic devices.展开更多

A special focus is set on the UHF-PD-measurement (ultra-high-frequency partial discharge measurement) because at power transformers, this diagnostic method has become more important in recent years. The current state, basics and principles of operations, proceedings as well as advantages of PD-measurement methods are covered. Furthermore problems and proposed solutions are discussed. Bushings and tap changers are not discussed in detail. In many cases, one single diagnostic method does not have the ability to sufficiently evaluate a power transformer. Therefore, a variety of diagnostic methods came up over times, which are commonly used by now. To expand the evaluation opportunities of power transformers, science strives to develop new diagnostic methods as well as to improve the existing ones. Furthermore, environmentally friendly and hardly inflammable ester liquids are examined for the use at power transformers and PD-measurement at HVDC (high voltage direct current) converter transformers as well. Potential diagnostic options and respectively current developments and findings in the field of oil-paper-insulation systems are outlined conclusively.展开更多

For in-stance, the Pd/C catalyst is deactivated severely in the hydrogenation of N-(3-nitro-4-methoxyphenyl) acetamide. In this study, the chemisorption of sulfur on the surface of deactivated Pd/C was detected by energy dispersive spec-trometer and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Sulfur compounds poison the Pd/C catalyst and increase the forma-tion of azo deposit, reducing the activity of catalyst. We report a mild method to regenerate the Pd/C catalyst: wash the deposit by N,N-dimethylformamide and oxidize the chemisorbed sulfur by hot air. The regenerated Pd/C cata-lyst can be reused at least ten runs with stable activity.展开更多

The main methods for the detection are UHF signal amplitude difference (DOA) and time difference (TOF). We analyze the localization error by using TE and TEM component and high order TE mode component in electromagnetic coaxial wave guide theory. Research and field test prove the DOA detection error can meet the requirements of real-time online diagnosis and for history tracking analysis. The error of TOF detection method can be controlled within 3% and can be applied to the site.展开更多
Long-term exposure to bioincompatible peritoneal dialysis(PD) solutions frequently results in peritoneal fibrosis and ultrafiltration failure,which limits the life-long use of and leads to the cessation of PD therapy....Long-term exposure to bioincompatible peritoneal dialysis(PD) solutions frequently results in peritoneal fibrosis and ultrafiltration failure,which limits the life-long use of and leads to the cessation of PD therapy.Therefore,it is important to elucidate the pathogenesis of peritoneal fibrosis in order to design therapeutic strategies to prevent its occurrence.Peritoneal fibrosis is associated with a chronic inflammatory status as well as an elevated oxidative stress(OS) status.Beyond uremia per se,OS also results from chronic exposure to high glucose load,glucose degradation products,advanced glycation end products,and hypertonic stress.Therapy targeting the cannabinoid(CB) signaling pathway has been reported in several chronic inflammatory diseases with elevated OS.We recently reported that the intra-peritoneal administration of CB receptor ligands,including CB_1 receptor antagonistsand CB_2 receptor agonists,ameliorated dialysis-related peritoneal fibrosis.As targeting the CB signaling pathway has been reported to be beneficial in attenuating the processes of several chronic inflammatory diseases,we reviewed the interaction among the cannabinoid system,inflammation,and OS,through which clinicians ultimately aim to prolong the peritoneal survival of PD patients.展开更多
