Object Tracking Algorithm Based on Multi-Time-Space Perception and Instance-Specific Proposals

Aiming at the problem that a single correlation filter model is sensitive to complex scenes such as background interference and occlusion,a tracking algorithm based on multi-time-space perception and instance-specific proposals is proposed to optimize the mathematical model of the correlation filter(CF).Firstly,according to the consistency of the changes between the object frames and the filter frames,the mask matrix is introduced into the objective function of the filter,so as to extract the spatio-temporal information of the object with background awareness.Secondly,the object function of multi-feature fusion is constructed for the object location,which is optimized by the Lagrange method and solved by closed iteration.In the process of filter optimization,the constraints term of time-space perception is designed to enhance the learning ability of the CF to optimize the final track-ing results.Finally,when the tracking results fluctuate,the boundary suppres-sion factor is introduced into the instance-specific proposals to reduce the risk of model drift effectively.The accuracy and success rate of the proposed algorithm are verified by simulation analysis on two popular benchmarks,the object tracking benchmark 2015(OTB2015)and the temple color 128(TC-128).Extensive experimental results illustrate that the optimized appearance model of the proposed algorithm is effective.The distance precision rate and overlap success rate of the proposed algorithm are 0.756 and 0.656 on the OTB2015 benchmark,which are better than the results of other competing algorithms.The results of this study can solve the problem of real-time object tracking in the real traffic environment and provide a specific reference for the detection of traffic abnormalities.

Qualitative Comparison between the Brazilian Labeling Program for Buildings and the Portuguese Energy Certification System for Buildings:Proposals for Improving Brazilian Regulations

Buildings represent a significant share of the world’s energy consumption,and the sector has drawn the attention of governments,which have adopted policies to reduce energy expenditure.The Certifications of Energy Efficiency in Buildings stand out as one possible solution to achieve this goal,employed in several countries worldwide.The European Union presents advanced energy assessment programs for buildings,being a reference and model for several other regulations in the world.The Energy Certification System for Buildings(SCE)of Portugal is considered a success case,reflected in the significant number of energy certificates issued.The Brazilian Labeling Program for Building(PBE Edifica),first launched in 2009,does not find a broad application today in the Brazilian scenario.This work shows a synthesis of the European Energy Performance of Buildings Directive(EPBD)and the Brazilian and Portuguese regulations’history.A qualitative comparison is made between the SCE and the PBE Edifica to verify a European and a developing country’s regulations with a certain degree of cultural and climatic similarities.Through this comparison,proposals are made for improvements to Brazilian certification,seeking to improve its energy planning and energy policy concerning its building stock.The suggestions for improvement presented may also be appropriate for other developing countries that have started and have not yet successfully implemented their energy certification programs in buildings.

针对当前常见的显著性检测模型得到的结果会包含大量的背景区域的缺点,本文提出了基于Object Proposals并集的显著性检测模型。该模型首先对于输入图片生成一系列Object Proposals,并通过其并集计算得到背景图;然后结合纹理特征和全局对比度得到初始显著图;最后,用得到的背景图对初始显著图进行背景抑制得到最终显著图。实验结果表明,在通用MSRA1000数据集上,本文提出的显著性模型与其他5种方法相比取得了很好的效果。

A comparative analysis of text representation, classification and clustering methods over real project proposals

Purpose-When a large number of project proposals are evaluated to alocate available funds,grouping them based on their simiarites is benefciaL.Current approaches to group proposals are primarily based on manual matching of similar topics,discipline areas and keywordls declared by project applicants.When the number of proposals increases,this task becomes complex and requires excessive time.This paper aims to demonstrate how to ffctively use the rich information in the titles and abstracts of Turkish project propsals to group them atmaially.Design/methodology/approach-This study proposes a model that effectively groups Turkish project proposals by combining word embedding,clustering and classification technigues.The proposed model uses FastText,BERT and term frequency/inverse document frequency(TF/IDF)word-embedding techniques to extract terms from the titles and abstracts of project proposals in Turkish.The extracted terms were grouped using both the clustering and classification techniques.Natural groups contained within the corpus were discovered using k-means,k-means++,k-medoids and agglomerative clustering algorithms,Additionally,this study employs classification approaches to predict the target class for each document in the corpus.To classify project proposals,var ious classifiers,including k nearest neighbors(KNN),support vector machines(SVM),artificial neural networks(ANN),cassftcation and regression trees(CART)and random forest(RF),are used.Empirical experiments were conducted to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method by using real data from the Istanbul Development Agency.Findings-The results show that the generated word embeddings an fftvely represent proposal texts as vectors,and can be used as inputs for dustering or casificatiomn algorithms.Using clustering algorithms,the document corpus is divided into five groups.In adition,the results demonstrate that the proposals can easily be categoried into predefmned categories using cassifiation algorithms.SVM-Linear achieved the highest prediction accuracy(89.2%)with the FastText word embedding.method.A comparison of mamual grouping with automatic casification and clutering results revealed that both classification and custering techniques have a high sucess rate.Research limitations/implications-The propsed mdelatomatically benefits fromthe rich information in project proposals and significantly reduces numerous time consuming tasks that managers must perform manually.Thus,it eliminates the drawbacks of the curent manual methods and yields significantly more acurate results.In the future,additional experiments should be conducted to validate the proposed method using data from other funding organizations.Originality/value-This study presents the application of word embedding methods to eftively use the rich information in the titles and abstracts of Turkish project proposals.Existing research studies focus on the automatice grouping of proposals;traditional frequency-based word embedding methods are used for feature extraction methods to represent project proposals.Unlike previous research,this study employs two outperforming neural network-based textual feature extraction techniques to obtain termns representing the proposals:BERT as a contextual word embedding method and F astText as a static word embedding method.Moreover,to the best of our knowledge,there has been no research conducted on the grouping of project proposals in Turkish.

Construction of a Computational Scheme for the Fuzzy HIV/AIDS Epidemic Model with a Nonlinear Saturated Incidence Rate

This work aimed to construct an epidemic model with fuzzy parameters.Since the classical epidemic model doesnot elaborate on the successful interaction of susceptible and infective people,the constructed fuzzy epidemicmodel discusses the more detailed versions of the interactions between infective and susceptible people.Thenext-generation matrix approach is employed to find the reproduction number of a deterministic model.Thesensitivity analysis and local stability analysis of the systemare also provided.For solving the fuzzy epidemic model,a numerical scheme is constructed which consists of three time levels.The numerical scheme has an advantage overthe existing forward Euler scheme for determining the conditions of getting the positive solution.The establishedscheme also has an advantage over existing non-standard finite difference methods in terms of order of accuracy.The stability of the scheme for the considered fuzzy model is also provided.From the plotted results,it can beobserved that susceptible people decay by rising interaction parameters.

New Proposals for Application of Terahertz Imaging Technique in Chinese Medicine

The rapid development of terahertz technology promotes the realization of various terahertz imaging systems.Terahertz technology features terahertz waves as good non-invasive illumination sources due to their high spectral resolution,penetration and safety.The terahertz imaging technique(TIT)has gradually been extended from the biomedical field to the field of Chinese medicine(CM),and it has become a powerful tool for seeking scientific evidence for CM theories with the use of modern science and technology.This paper reviews the current application of TITs in the field of CM research,and most importantly offers novel proposals for the application of TITs in CM research from the perspective of CM syndrome objectification and acupuncture research and cites existing reports as reference to the feasibility of these new proposals.

A generation method of insulator region proposals based on edge boxes

High-quality insulator region proposals play important roles in the process of transmission line inspection images. A generation method of insulator region proposals based on edge boxes is proposed in this paper, and edge boxes are applied to the localization of insulators in inspection images creatively. We take a series of operations to generate insulator region proposals: K-means cluster is used on curvature scale space(CSS) points extracted from edge images, the most appropriate cluster number is chosen, and the circle is drawn on the insulator subclass. We consider the characteristics of insulators' edge images, and combine these characteristics with edge boxes. As a result, more insulator region proposals are displayed. The experimental results show that our method can effectively reduce the interference area, meanwhile, has high quality of region proposals with fast calculation speed.

A Hybrid SIR-Fuzzy Model for Epidemic Dynamics:A Numerical Study

This study focuses on the urgent requirement for improved accuracy in diseasemodeling by introducing a newcomputational framework called the Hybrid SIR-Fuzzy Model.By integrating the traditional Susceptible-Infectious-Recovered(SIR)modelwith fuzzy logic,ourmethod effectively addresses the complex nature of epidemic dynamics by accurately accounting for uncertainties and imprecisions in both data and model parameters.The main aim of this research is to provide a model for disease transmission using fuzzy theory,which can successfully address uncertainty in mathematical modeling.Our main emphasis is on the imprecise transmission rate parameter,utilizing a three-part description of its membership level.This enhances the representation of disease processes with greater complexity and tackles the difficulties related to quantifying uncertainty in mathematical models.We investigate equilibrium points for three separate scenarios and perform a comprehensive sensitivity analysis,providing insight into the complex correlation betweenmodel parameters and epidemic results.In order to facilitate a quantitative analysis of the fuzzy model,we propose the implementation of a resilient numerical scheme.The convergence study of the scheme demonstrates its trustworthiness,providing a conditionally positive solution,which represents a significant improvement compared to current forward Euler schemes.The numerical findings demonstrate themodel’s effectiveness in accurately representing the dynamics of disease transmission.Significantly,when the mortality coefficient rises,both the susceptible and infected populations decrease,highlighting the model’s sensitivity to important epidemiological factors.Moreover,there is a direct relationship between higher Holling type rate values and a decrease in the number of individuals who are infected,as well as an increase in the number of susceptible individuals.This correlation offers a significant understanding of how many elements affect the consequences of an epidemic.Our objective is to enhance decision-making in public health by providing a thorough quantitative analysis of the Hybrid SIR-Fuzzy Model.Our approach not only tackles the existing constraints in disease modeling,but also paves the way for additional investigation,providing a vital instrument for researchers and policymakers alike.

Using Circular Economics Strategies to Manage Tourism on Remote Islands:A SMART Approach

Circular economics theory offers destination managers of remote islands a solution-oriented approach to environmental sustainability. This paper examines the practical benefits of this theory that will support the development of a circular economy regarding sustainable island tourism (SIT). The aim of this paper is to inform discussions regarding the feasibility of applying a practice theory that emphasises changes in the behaviours across three segments, visitors, residents, and enterprises using SMART technologies. To achieve this objective, a SMART indicator system (SIS) was used to identify current practices that would support a circular economy (CE). The key innovation of this study is the creation of a proposed framework that may inform best practices for SIT in the future. The findings highlight the potential opportunity of evidenced-based planning to deliver a circular economy strategy (CES) for remote islands in the future. These insights can potentially impact the way that local authorities and destination managers approach the planning of tourism for six islands along the west coast of Ireland.

Social Issues in Proposals

During the annual session of the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) that concluded on March 14,1,992 of the total 2,236 members at the beginning of their five-year term in China’s top advisory body submitted 4,772 proposals. Members of the CPPCC National Committee put forward proposals to offer comments and suggestions on major po- litical and social issues of the country.A proposal can be raised by one member or a group of members;by one or more groups jointly;in the name of a party or non-government group that has joined the CPPCC;or in the name of a sub- committee of the CPPCC National Committee. Out of the proposals that were classified during the conference,1,863 or 41.16 percent were on economic matters;1,405 or 31.04 percent were on education,scientific research,entertainment,health care and sports;and 1,258 proposals or 27.8 percent were on legal affairs and social seeurity. During the pnst five years,the CPPCC National Committee handled over 23,000 proposals,of which 21,843 were sent to government branches in charge of the matters for solution.
