Polyethyleneimine( PEI) and cationic liposomes were widely used for gene delivery and the combination of PEI and liposome was reported to result in a higher efficiency of cell transfection in vitro.In recent years, be...Polyethyleneimine( PEI) and cationic liposomes were widely used for gene delivery and the combination of PEI and liposome was reported to result in a higher efficiency of cell transfection in vitro.In recent years, better transfection was observed for the drug-loaded liposome fixed on the tissue engineering scaffolds via embedding,surface adsorption or covalent grafting thus protected and bound by the scaffolds.In the present study,a novel PEI-liposome loaded fish gelatin composite nanofiber was successfully fabricated by a green electrospinning process.The existence of PEIliposome in the composite nanofibers was determined by Fourier transform infrared( FTIR) spectra, transmission electron microscopy( TEM), and confocal laser scanning microscopy( CLSM).As shown by scanning electron microscopy( SEM),the electrospun composite nanofibers with uniform diameter were smooth and round,and the morphology of the fish gelatin fibers did not change significantly after the incorporation of PEI-liposomes.The transfection results in vitro suggest PEI-liposome loaded fish gelatin material may have a promising application in non-viral gene delivery systems.展开更多

PVA nanofiber...The influence of relative humidity( RH) on the properties of electrospun polyvinyl alcohol( PVA) nanofibers that might determine the application of nanofibers in high-efficiency air filters is not clear. PVA nanofiber mat was prepared between two hot airthrough ES( polyethyene( PE) and polypropylene( PP) composite fiber) non-woven substrates as a sandwich structure nanofiber composite filter using an electrospinning technique combining with an ultrasonic sewing process. The filtering mechanism of the composite was discussed in detail. The effects of nanofiber diameters,nanofiber layer thickness and RH in environment on the properties of PVA nanofibers were investigated by scanning electron microscopy( SEM), X-ray diffraction( XRD), automatic filter tester and universal strength tester. The results showed that the PVA nanofiber composite fabrics had high filtration efficiency with lowpressure drop and there was a negative correlation between filtration efficiency and nanofiber diameter. After keeping in a high RH environment for several hours, the mechanical property of PVA nanofiber composites was deteriorated but the high filtration efficiency was increased.展开更多

Scanning electron microscopy( SEM) demonstrates that PVA nanofibers formed with diameters of( 255 ±94) nm. Cross-linked PVA nanofibers with N-halamine diol precursor and 1,2,3,4-butanetetracarboxylic( BTCA) showed good water resistance. The chlorinated PVA nanofibrous mats completely inactivated Staphylococcus aureus( Gram-positive) and Escherichia coli O157: H7( Gram-negative) with 7 log reductions( the reduction of the bacterial concentration in logarithm) within 5min and 1 min of contact time,respectively.展开更多
