With series inductors, the leading switches can realize zero current swit ching (ZCS) in a wide load range using the energy of the output capacitor. Ma king use of parasitic capacitors of the lagging switches and parallel auxiliary i nductance with the primary winding of the transformer, the lagging switches can realize zero voltage switching (ZVS) under any load. Compared with the ZCS PWM Boost FB converter, the new converter has no current duty cycle loss. Operat ional principle and parameter design are analyzed. Secondly, the proposed PWM strategy is deduced by inverting the mathematical model of the multileg VSI. According to the relationship between the leg number of VSIs and the phase number of electrical machines, the multi-leg VSI-fed machine drives are classified into two types:matched and unmatched applications. The leg numbers of VSIs and the phase number of electrical machines are equal in matched applications while they are different in unmatched applications. The existing PWM strategies cannot be directly used for both matched and unmatched applications. However,the proposed PWM strategy can be general for both matched and unmatched applications, and no modifications are required. The effectiveness of the proposed PWM strategy is verified by experimental results.展开更多

With 50 Hz carrier wave frequency, the tests are performed to determine the correspondence between duty ratio and the wheel cylinder pressure variation. The duty ratio range of ABS outlet valve in PWM control is determined and an experimental model of pressure reduction velocity (PRV) of wheel cylinder using PWM control is established. By comparison and test of the experimental model and realization of controlling the duty ratio of ABS outlet valves, the fine regulation of wheel cylinder PRV is realized in the working of ABS/ASR braking regulation, which is important and valuable to the improvement of the ABS/ASR controlling effect.展开更多

With this model,the mass flow rate and dynamic pressure characteristics of constant volumes controlled by high-speed pneumatic PWM on /off valves was well described. A variable flow rate coefficient model was proposed to substitute for the constant one used in most of the prior works to investigate PWM on /off valves' dynamical pressure response, and a formula for disclosing the inherent relationship among the PWM command signal,static mass flow rate,and sonic conductance of the valve was newly derived.Finally,an extensive set of analytical experimental comparisons were implemented to verify the validity of the proposed mathematica model. With the proposed model, PWM on /off valves' characteristics,such as mass flow rate,step pressure response of the valve control system,mean pressure and ripple amplitude,not only in the linear range,but also in the nonlinear range can be wel predicted; Good agreement between measured and calculated results was obtained,which proved that the model is helpful for designing a control strategy in a closed loop control system.展开更多

This new topology has allowed the voltage stresses of the converter to be distributed among several switching cells. Secondly, divide the input voltage into several fractions to reduce the number of power semiconductors to be switched. In this contribution, the general topology of this micro-inverter has been described and the simulation tests developed to validate its operation have been presented. The main aim of this paper is the analysis and development of single-phase and three-phase inverter to design with MOSFET and IGBT as power elements by sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) technique using MATLAB Simulink software and compare their difference with the practical inverter. This work proposes different multilevel stages for the cascaded H-Bridge inverter to enhance the output voltages. Then compare their performance, harmonic distortion, and frequency spectrum. The hardware of an inverter circuit has been developed using the SG3524 microcontroller. The main goal of this design is to generate a sine wave with fewer harmonics, while keeping the cost and complexity of the circuit low. The designed inverter has undergone testing with different AC loads and is primarily intended for low-power applications, as lamps, fans, and chargers. This design aims to provide a reliable and efficient inverter solution for these specific applications.展开更多

An improved automatic voltage coordination control strategy (AVCCS) based on ;automatic voltage control (AVC) and battery energy storage control (BESC) is proposed for photovoltaic grid-connected system (PVGS)...An improved automatic voltage coordination control strategy (AVCCS) based on ;automatic voltage control (AVC) and battery energy storage control (BESC) is proposed for photovoltaic grid-connected system (PVGS) to mitigate the voltage fluctuations caused by environmental disturbances. Only AVC is used when small environ- mental disturbances happen, while BESC is incorporated with AVC to restrain the voltage fluctuations when large disturbances happen. An adjustable parameter determining the allowed amplitudes of voltage fluctuations is introduced to realize the above switching process. A benchmark low voltage distribution system including ]?VGS is established by using the commercial software Dig SILENT. Simulation results show that the voltage under AVCCS satisfies the IEEE Standard 1547, and the installed battery capacity is also reduced. Meanwhile, the battery's service life is ex- tended by avoiding frequent charges/discharges in the control process.展开更多

The original structure of the PUMA robot is retained. The hardware of the new controller includes such in-house designed parts as pulse width modulation (PWM) amplifiers, digital and analog controllers, I/O cards, signal conditioner cards, and 16-bit A/D and D/A boards. An Intel Pentium IV industrial computer is used as the central controller. The control software is implemented using VC++ programming language. The trajectory tracking performance of all six joints is tested at varying velocities. Experimental results show that it is feasible to implement the suggested open architecture platform for PUMA 500 series robots through the software routines running on a PC. By assembling controller from off-the-shell hardware and software components, the benefits of reduced and improved robustness have been realized.展开更多

That is, having defined a desired fundamental output voltage, optimal pulse patterns (switching angles) are determined to produce the fundamental output voltage while minimizing the THCD. The complete results for the two cases of three and five switching instants in the first quarter period of pulse width modulation (PWM) waveform are presented. Presence of harmonics in the stator excitation leads to a pulsing-torque component. Considering the fact that if the pulsing-torques are at low frequencies, they can cause troublesome speed fluctuations, shaft fatigue, and unsatisfactory performance in the feedback control system, the 5th, 7th, 1 lth, and 13th current harmonics (in the case of five switching angles) are constrained at some pre-specified values, to mitigate the detrimental effects of low-frequency harmonics. At the same time, the THCD is optimized while the required fundamental output voltage is maintained.展开更多

To settle the verification problems brought by analog IP cores, NanoSim based chip-level mixed-signal verification method is introduced. This modulation scheme uses pulses with equal amplitude and different widths to carry different information. The receiver employs differences between similarity coefficients among these pulses to distinguish different information. Both theoretical analysis and simulation results verify that this novel scheme has a Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) gain of about 1.75 dB compared with or- thogonal binary PPM, and has an SNR loss of about 1.4 dB compared with binary PAM. Although both the theoretical analysis and simulations are based on time-hopping multiple access, this modulation scheme can also be applied to other accessing techniques of UWB communication systems.展开更多

文摘In this paper, the design and verification process of an automobile-engine-fan control system on chip (SoC) are introduced. The SoC system, SHU-MV08, reuses four new intellectual property (IP) cores and the design flow is accomplished with 0.35 btm chartered CMOS technology. Some special functions of IP cores, the detailed integration scheme of four IP cores, and the verification method of the entire SoC are presented. To settle the verification problems brought by analog IP cores, NanoSim based chip-level mixed-signal verification method is introduced. The verification time is greatly reduced and the first tape-out achieves success which proves the validity of our design.
文摘Since the poor performance of orthogonal binary Pulse Position Modulation (PPM) compared with binary Pulse Amplitude Modulation (PAM), this paper presents a new modulation scheme named Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) for Impulse Radio Ultra-WideBand (IR-UWB) communication systems. This modulation scheme uses pulses with equal amplitude and different widths to carry different information. The receiver employs differences between similarity coefficients among these pulses to distinguish different information. Both theoretical analysis and simulation results verify that this novel scheme has a Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) gain of about 1.75 dB compared with or- thogonal binary PPM, and has an SNR loss of about 1.4 dB compared with binary PAM. Although both the theoretical analysis and simulations are based on time-hopping multiple access, this modulation scheme can also be applied to other accessing techniques of UWB communication systems.

文摘Multiphase machines are gaining increasing popularity because of their distinct advantages over three-phase counterparts,such as reduced per phase power rating,improved reliability and increased degrees of freedom.This paper overviews the development history of multiphase machines and drive techniques in Section II.Three kinds of drive algorithms,including Field-Oriented Control(FOC),Direct Torque Control(DTC)and Model Predictive Control(MPC),are introduced in Section III.Then two types of fault-tolerant methods are compared in Section IV,which are the Vector Space Decomposition(VSD)strategy and Optimal Current Control(OCC)method.Furthermore,different types of existing multiphase converter topologies are listed in Section V,and various kinds of multiphase PWM methods are discussed in Section VI.Finally,based on the review,developing trends of multiphase drive techniques are forecasted.
