The School of Business Administration

The year of 1956 saw the establishment of the Department of Industrial Economics, predecessor of the School of Business Administration of China University of Petroleum （Beijing）, at former Beijing Petroleum Institute. Currently, the School consists of Department of Management, Department of Applied Economics, Department of Accounting and Finance, a Research Institute of Petroleum Economics and Business Experiment Center. It offers students academic programs for doctoral degree in petroleum engineering management, for master degree in industrial economics, engineering economics, management science and engineering, business management, accounting, project management, and industrial engineering, and for bachelor degree in accounting, business management, financial management, information management and information system, international economics and trade, and marketing.

Relationship between Contraceptive Knowledge,Cognition and Behaviors among Vocational High School Students

Objective To study the relationship between contraceptive knowledge, cognition and behaviors among vocational high school students. Methods A cross-sectional survey was anonymously self-administrated by way of computer to all the 1st graders＇ among three vocational high schools in a district of Shanghai. Four cognition indicators, including perceived benefits, perceived barriers, perceived risks and self eJficacy were applied according to Health Belief Model. Results The percentage of respondents who reported ever sexual practices and contraceptives use at first sex was 7.01% and 56.64% respectively. Condom （58. 70%） and oral contraceptive pills （27.78%） were used by the majority. Main reasons for non-use were ＂shy to buy it＂ （26.53%） and ＂partner don＇t want to use any＂ （18.37%）. Proportion of respondents who ever had sex regarded withdrawal and rhythm as effective were 68.35% and 68.42% respectively. Proportion of respondents having sex knew ＂If a person was infected with STDs, he/she might not have noticeable symptoms＂ were 22.86%. Proportion of respondents who reported non-use of contraceptives at first sex considered that ＂infrequent intercourse could not cause a girl pregnant even she had experienced her menstruation＂ were 40.63%. Proportion of respondents who had ever used condom got full score of knowledge on ＂how to correctly use condom＂ were 23,26%. Perceived risks were poorest among four cognition indicators. High level of contraceptive knowledge was connected with high rate of contraceptives use at first sex, whereas high level contraceptive cognition was connected with high rate of contraceptive use both at first and recent sex. Conclusions It is important to provide youth-friendly services as well as message on contraceptives among vocational school students.

Bullying Among School Students in the UAE Society

The purpose of this study is to research the bullying phenomenon among school students in the UAE society. This is done through showing the extent of prevalence of bullying, the rate of recurrence of bullying incidences, the most widespread forms of bullying among school children in the Emirati society, and finally, the variation with regards to the prevalence and forms of bullying as related to the student’s gender. Therefore, this study aims to probe the prevalence of this phenomenon in schools, and the frequency of bullying cases as well as its forms. For this purpose, a questionnaire was designed and conducted on a sample size of 1,309 students of both genders. The data were later analyzed using descriptive statistical and analytical metrics that are appropriate for the variables’ measurement level, and which achieve the objectives of the study. The study found that a third of the students (33.3%) were involved in bullying incidents. Furthermore, it was found that 14.2% were the party causing the bullying incident, while 19.1% were the party upon which bullying was inflicted. The study also revealed that within school premises the places where bullying was most likely to occur are corridors, and the places which students felt were the least safe are the closed spaces. As for the forms of bullying students are subjected to, offensive name calling or insults came in first place, followed by cyber/online bullying. The young age and smaller size of a student were among the most important motivators for students to bully him/her. It was also found that 32.8% of students who are exposed to bullying respond in a similar manner. The study showed that most of the bullied students (78.4%) know the person doing the bullying, the females being more cognizant of the perpetrator bullying them. Moreover, 40.7% of the students believe that the teachers and other employees are aware of the bullying taking place, female students to a greater extent than males in this regard. In the study sample, the students believe that strong and strict school administration would contribute to stopping the bullying phenomenon. The study additionally concluded a number of recommendations to reduce this phenomenon.

The purpose of this work is to develop a model of effective educational administration and leadership through the conceptual definition of educational administration and the understanding of the concept of leadership in school.In particular,the educational administration will be identified and demarcated and its basic functions that are vital for the smooth operation,development and efficiency of educational organizations will be identified.Then,the concept of leadership will be analyzed,the modern models and forms in which it can be practiced in schools will be presented and the basic differences between leadership and administration will be captured.Finally,the concept of school effectiveness will be analyzed and effective ways of administration and leadership at school level will be listed,emphasizing the skills that an effective principal of a modern school unit must have.

苏联远东中国高级列宁学校的建立及其影响

学习宣传习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想是党校工作的重要任务,同时也为新时代基层党校高质量发展指明了方向。研究发现,基层党校存在教师对基本原理把握不到位、教学内容调研不充分、教学方式灵活性针对性不足等短板,在一定程度上影响了基层党校作为当地干部教育主阵地的作用发挥。文章认为,通过进一步加强基层党校教师理论学术功底、提升开展调查研究能力、提升党校课程生动性时代性等路径,能够有效提升基层党校教育培训习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想的能力水平,优化基层党校工作质效,有效推动基层党校高质量发展。

通过对高校党校工作和教育教学规律与特点的总结分析,结合高校大学生培养发展的具体情况开展问卷调研,发现大学生党史学习教育仍存在问题。在梳理分析原因基础上,提出“六化共进”解决方案,即探索性构建囊括目标中心化、培养项目化、师资专业化、教学体系化、建设规范化和成果链条化的路径。
