Muslim Confucian Philosophy:Islamic-Confucian Dialogue and the Integration of Civilizations

At the end of the Ming Dynasty and at the beginning of the Qing Dynasty,a new theory of learning was created-Muslim Confucian Study(Chinese Islamic Philosophy)-on the basis of Islamic philosophy and under the influence of Confucianism.Wang Daiyu(1570-1660)and Liu Zhi(1660-1739)were two great Huiru(Muslim Confucian)scholars at that time.They published Zhengjiao zhenquan(The real commentary on the tire teaching),Tianfang xingli(Nature and principle in Islam)major books.Their approach is distinguished from that of other Muslim scholars in that they addressed the basic articles of Islamic thought with Confucian terminology and categories.The study deals with the Islamic worldview,and with the practices that make it possible for people to bring themselves into conformity with that worldview.However,the teaching of the Muslim Confucian was continuous with those of Mainstream Islam.In my research,I attempted to answer two questions:(a)How did Muslim Confucian Study Inherit the Mainstream Islamic Thought?(b)What is the value and contribution of the World Islamic philology and civilization?

Ecotourism and environmental ethics: Based on Chinese Confucianism and Taoism philosophy

Based on traditional Chinese philosophy, we study the modern eco-tourism and environmental ethics and its implications. Firstly, the eco-tourism and environmental ethics were defi ned; Secondly, the Chinese philosophy of Confucianism and Taoism related to the concept of eco-tourism and environmental ethics were reviewed; Finally, we provide implications to the practitioners and experts of environment in China.

The influence of the study of Confucianism and Taoism on the connotation of Shen in Nei Jing

This article analyzes the connotation of Shen in Confucianism and Taoism and Shen in Nei Jing by using the method of literature review,and it raises:the two are closely related.First of all,on the basis of the meaning of"god"before the pre-Qin period,the study of Confucianism and Taoism enriches the connotation of Shen,it extracts many implications,such as"magic","unpredictable","mental spirits","Xin Shen","intelligence","laws"etc.,endowing Shen with philosophy meanings.Secondly,Nei Jing introduces Shen with philosophy meanings into the field of Chinese medicine to explain phenomena related to life,at the same time,it confirms the reality of Shen and constructs a complete Shen theory system.

Unity of Opposites -- The Taoist ＂Sameness in Difference＂ Philosophy of the Unity of Black and White

Unity and opposite are the two basic attributes of contradiction and the basic law of the materialistic dialectics.And the Taoist color view of"black and white"directly reflects such a law of unity of opposites.This paper attempts to discuss the relationship between the unities of opposites—black and white,uncovering the interdependent,inter-infiltrating and inter- conversional relationship of changes in temperature,movement and lightness,false and true and existence and non-existence of black and white.At the same time,this paper expounds the dialectical relationship of unity and opposite,trying to have a better understanding of the cosmology,view of life and philosophical connotation of Taoism from the two opposite colors— black and white.

＂Heaven＂ and ＂Man＂ under the Reconstitution of the Confucianism -- from ＂Heaven and Man Being Related＂ to ＂Heaven and Man Being in One＂

Through analysis of the relationship between heaven and man and the development of the ideology in the developing process from the pre- Qin Confucianism, the cosmology Confucianism of the Han Dynasty to the formation of the Confucian School of idealist philosophy of the Song and Ming dynasties, this paper attempts to explore the Confucianism ideology from social structure, cultural integration and environmental change and so on, so as to points out that Confucianism does not collapse with the disintegration of the social structure; instead,it realizes self- reconstruction and renovation.

On “Qi” in Kungfu Panda 3 from the Perspective of Chinese Philosophy

Kungfu Panda produced by America is quite famous in China and many researchers have studied on it from different aspects. In fact, "Qi" is one of the key factor of Chinese philosophy which determine the success of Panda. However, the present researches about kungfu hardly pay enough attention on how "Qi" works.Therefore, the paper, by introducing and discussing the concept of "Qi",discusses the role of reflective ways for "Qi" to show special China kungfu.This paper provides opportunity for foreigners to learn China ancient culture about "Taoism". The purpose of thepaper explains the role and significance of "Qi".

Confucianism is a Philosophy Rather than a Religion

The Chinese Recorder, a journal produced by the Protestant missionary community in China, enjoyed a run of seventytwo years in which Confucianism was regarded as a religion by many missionary scholars. But is Confucianism a religion or a philosophy? There are different ideas in present literatus. This study attempts to prove that Confucianism is not a religion by distinguishing the definitions of religion and Confucianism and comparing them, and further points out that Confucianism is a philosophy.

The influence of Confucian and Taoist culture on prescription principles

Confucianism and Taoism,as the main body of traditional Chinese culture,has a great influence on the structure and the application of the theory of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).This paper elucidates the influences of Confucian and Taoist culture on the theories and formulating rules of prescription in TCM,such as the principles of"Wu Zang Wu Wei Bu Xie",prescription laws of"Jun Chen Zuo Shi",principle of"Yong Yao Fa Xiang",the principle of"Liu Qi Sheng Fu"etc.from the view of Zhong He,Chong Li and Xiang Thought in Confucianism,and Qi Ontology,thought of Dao Fa Zi Ran and Following Time in Taoism.Qi Ontology belongs to the ontology and hylogenesis,Xiang Thought belongs to epistemology;Zhong He is the aim state of drug using ultimately;Chong Li,Following Time and Dao Fa Zi Ran,they are all the necessary laws for the right use of drugs.It embodies that TCM have its own unique theoretical system and rigorous laws in it,and lays the foundation for the subsequent researches on the theory and rules of prescriptions.

The Taoism Philosophy within Traditional Chinese Medicine:The Relation between Huang Di Nei Jing(《黄帝内经》Yellow Emperor’s Inner Classic)anti Dao De Jing(《道德经》Tao Te Jing)

Taoism refers lo an indigenous Chinese philosophical and religious tradition.For more than two and a half millennia,it has had a profound social and intellectual influence on Eastern Asia and since the 19^th century has deeply influenced Western countries.Dao DeJing(《道德经》Tao TeJing)is still considered to be the primary text of Taoism.The Too TeJing is attributed to Laozi,the classical Chinese Philosopher,and describes the major doctrines of Taoism.It is most relevant to Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM).This article offers a brief introduction to the Taoism within TCM-the relation between Huang Di Nei Jing(《黄帝内经》The Yellow Emperor s Inner Classic)and Dao De Jing(《道德经》Tao TeJing).

Kant and Confucius:Moral Ethics Behind Western and Eastern Approaches to International Relations

International relations(IR)as a discipline is currently experiencing a crisis that may be viewed as a protest against the Euro-centric theories in humanities and the Western view on global politics,some of the most vocal opponents coming from Asia,with China at its core.This paper aims to compare the principles that depict moral ethics serving as a base for political idealism in the West and the East with Kant’s views as a foundation for Western idealism and Confucius’s ethical theory as a ground for an ideal society from the Asian perspective.The comparison is conducted along the following axes:the notions of autonomy,will,and freedom,initially developed to depict an ideal world order in the Kantian view.As a result of this comparison,the common feature between the two types of ethics,namely the strive for human dignity,becomes apparent.In conclusion,the paper suggests that researchers should concentrate on common features in the two philosophies instead of juxtaposing their apparent differences,which politically reflect the opposition of individualism and collectivism.Stress on human dignity shall become a unifying factor in modern international politics instead.

早期儒家哲学中的教育隐喻探微

隐喻作为人类语言、认知、思维乃至“存在”中的重要议题,值得关注。基于汉字的独特表意系统,早期儒家以仁义为依归,以“成人”为宗旨,借助内发扩充和外铄转化诸种譬喻,殊途同归地辨析人接受教育而“作善”的可能性和必要性。儒家教育隐喻中常用的玉、水、木及禾四类典型意象,皆具鲜明的自然属性及农耕特色,被借以讨论教育活动作用的对象及预期的理想。在过程层面,儒家借助诸如染色、熏香、品味、射箭,以及绳墨、规矩、影子、回声等隐喻,揭示教育的渐进、隐微、互动及规范等特征,同时呈现儒家教育重视具身经验、强调反身而诚的特征。儒家将“教-育”与“学-习”可能达至的趣妙境界、理想人格的完成以及良善秩序的实现,进行关联性的整体论述,乃至揭示教育这种世俗活动中所蕴含的“内在超越”可能。隐喻语言有其不足,却又普遍泛在。教育研究应当舍离以神秘或鄙弃态度对待隐喻,尝试超越客观主义和主观主义的二元对立,从经验主义的角度切入,审视教育隐喻的指称内涵、生发机理及运用效果,同时留意辨析其内在限度。

从思想到制度:郑玄知识体系建构的三重维度

作为一代通儒,郑玄创建“郑氏家法”,又遍注群经,一个人开启了属于自己的经学盛世。郑玄以道家思想注《易》,使汉代学术打破门户之见走向融合,也开启了魏晋玄学义理阐释的先声。郑玄注经兼收并蓄,并以己意融合今古文经,董理旧章,希冀重建儒家的思想体系乃至政治秩序。郑玄构建的以阴阳五行为核心的世界图式,以礼学为根底的思想秩序不断扩展开来,形成了一种新的自洽的知识体系,而这种知识体系不乏谶纬学说的融入,从而形成了经纬混合的完善理论,体现了东汉时代的经学特点。郑玄注经,不仅从学理上达到了自洽,既融汇了儒道、今古文经的经说,又完成了自身经学理论的质的飞跃,使经学呈现了一统的局面。

苏轼诗中的“人”意象及其文化意蕴

通览苏诗,可以发现“人”意象成为苏诗一个蔚为大观、具有独特艺术品质的意象集群。这些“人”意象根据组群的不同大体可分为“有人”和“无人”意象,仙人、道人、佛人意象,以及古人与今人、舟人与游人等其他意象,苏诗中的大量“人”意象集群的出现既有对前人意象的承继,也与其儒释道交融的思想密切相关,是其哲学思辨下美学意蕴的生动体现,融哲思与诗意于一体。

浅析现代新儒学的知识化自安问题——从冯友兰、牟宗三对“儒学”的“哲学”界定说起

经由牟宗三的批评和随后而来的反批评,冯友兰与牟宗三的学问分别被指为“脓包哲学”“癔症哲学”,现代新儒家“同室操戈”,本应作为“共识”的“儒学”似乎被弄丢不见了。不过究其实,冯友兰和牟宗三都有志于通过“讲道理”来为儒学在世界文明史中争得一席之地。他们认为,面对社会生活的沧桑巨变,用语言文字把传统儒学的那些“常道”合逻辑、合知识地表达出来以说服人,成了现代新儒学的“第一义”,否则儒学在这个时代里便无法自安。在此共识下,牟宗三哲学是“至高无上的教”的一个现代流露,冯友兰哲学是众多“知识性的学”中的一个现代成员,两者的差别就是“烟酒咖啡”与“菽粟布帛”的差别,虽不同,但却都是生活、生命之所需。有此生命、生活,中国哲学的现代性转化便能开辟出自己的道路,而现代新儒学的未来也才真实可期。

“Neo-Confucian(ism)”概念的翻译、流传与阐发——以冯友兰的学术生涯为中心

冯友兰在美国留学期间(1920-1923)使用并阐发了西方创造的“Neo-Confucian(ism)”概念,回国后(1924-1926)首次将其翻译为中文“新儒家(学)”概念。其后由于建构宋明儒学史的需要,加上“新儒学”概念意义的不确定性,1932年底以后,冯友兰在其中论著中转而使用包括程朱理学与陆王心学在内的传统“道学”概念来指称宋明新儒学。但李石岑(1926)、谢扶雅(1928)、陈寅恪(1934)等人都在冯友兰的影响下使用了这一概念。20世纪40年代以后,“新儒家(学)”概念又被用来指称现当代等其他时代的新儒家(学),标志着这一概念在当时国内学术界通行起来。20世纪50年代前后,卜德翻译冯友兰的《中国哲学简史》《中国哲学史》等论著的流行,又促进了“Neo-Confucian(ism)”概念的普及。在“Neo-Confucian(ism)”概念的传播及阐发过程中,继承宋明新儒学并倡导返本开新的海内外现代新儒家(以冯友兰、狄百瑞为代表)起到了关键作用。

古之道术:黄老生命哲学的思想渊源

黄老生命哲学的渊源可谓纷繁复杂,其最初源头要追溯到前诸子时期的三代文化,其中“敬德”思想的确立及其相关概念的演变,为中国传统哲学尤其是生命哲学的产生和发展奠定了基础。《老子》是黄老道家生命哲学的最直接源头,为黄老生命哲学的本原论、人性论、价值论的形成奠定了理论基础。在从老子哲学走向黄老之学的过程中,范蠡对道家哲学的创造性阐释至关重要,黄老生命哲学的阴阳气化论、“因人情”的人性论、刚柔相济的人生观等内容都离不开范蠡哲学的深远影响。黄帝神话传说中已经具备了比较朴素且明晰的生命哲学意识。

李泽厚“西体中用”原则下中西融汇之美学建构——以《美学四讲》为中心

迄今为止,对李泽厚的美学思想的阐释存在两种偏差。一种观点以国内学者为主,过于强调李泽厚美学理论对马克思主义的发展、对西方美学的借鉴,忽视了对中国美学传统思想的汲取。而另一种观点多见于国外,重视李泽厚美学思想对儒家思想的吸收,却忽略了其思想中蕴含的道家渊源。以《美学四讲》为中心,可以发现李泽厚美学理论中西方思想和儒道精神互补融汇的特征,其美学理论遵循甚至超越了“西体中用”的原则,在借鉴西方思想、研究路径的基础上,结合中国的儒道文化,走出了一条具有中国特色的理论构建之路。这种基于民族文化自信和开放包容的心态,以跨文化视域创造性地利用本土文化资源,创立自己学说的实践为今天国内的美学发展指明前行的方向。
