Language development in children goes hand in hand with physical and cognitive development. Children learn their first language by imitation, but not always and not only by imitation. There seems to be some "innate capacities" that make children start to speak at the same time they do and in the way they do it. Adults learning a second language usually are controlled more by their motivation. But language input is important for both L1 and L2 acquisition. Though there are differences between CL1 and between CL2 and AL2, the way in which these learners acquire some of the grammatical morphemes is similar. This, together with some other evidence, shows that it is not only children who can acquire language. Adults can also acquire a language. But when adults acquire a language, they should also learn it. Some of the ways in which children acquire their language can be used as a model for L2 acquisition, even for Chinese students whose language is unrelated to English and whose culture is different. Learning the culture of the English-speaking countries will benefit the learning of the language. Like children, listening should also be well in advance of speaking in L2 acquisition. To train listening comprehension skills, Asher’s TPR approach proves more effective. TPR approach is at the moment limited to the beginning stage only. In order for students to gain all the five skills in a second language learning, namely, listening, speaking, reading, writing, and interpreting/translating, other methods should be used at the same time, or at later stages. 展开更多

This paper discusses various teaching scenarios in which physical response may be employed to balance verbal response. Physical actions and movements make meaningful alternative activities that can achieve concentration and alertness from learners. They serve to reduce stress, create an informal and spontaneous atmosphere of learning, and facilitate language acquisition. The potential of physical response is especially noteworthy in eliciting interaction and stimulating communication based on reading texts. Many activities of this kind can be used to review and memorize vocabulary and to act out the parts on which the teacher would like the students to focus. Physical activities become even more practical and applicable when realia are combined to assist the performer who may find a particular action or movement hard to perform. 展开更多

Physical Parameter Identification Method Based on Modal Analysis for Two-axis On-road Vehicles:Theory and Simulation 被引量:3

Physical parameters are very important for vehicle dynamic modeling and analysis.However,most of physical parameter identification methods are assuming some physical parameters of vehicle are known,and the other unknown parameters can be identified.In order to identify physical parameters of vehicle in the case that all physical parameters are unknown,a methodology based on the State Variable Method(SVM) for physical parameter identification of two-axis on-road vehicle is presented.The modal parameters of the vehicle are identified by the SVM,furthermore,the physical parameters of the vehicle are estimated by least squares method.In numerical simulations,physical parameters of Ford Granada are chosen as parameters of vehicle model,and half-sine bump function is chosen to simulate tire stimulated by impulse excitation.The first numerical simulation shows that the present method can identify all of the physical parameters and the largest absolute value of percentage error of the identified physical parameter is 0.205%;and the effect of the errors of additional mass,structural parameter and measurement noise are discussed in the following simulations,the results shows that when signal contains 30 d B noise,the largest absolute value of percentage error of the identification is 3.78%.These simulations verify that the presented method is effective and accurate for physical parameter identification of two-axis on-road vehicles.The proposed methodology can identify all physical parameters of 7-DOF vehicle model by using free-decay responses of vehicle without need to assume some physical parameters are known. 展开更多

The element geochemical characteristics and diagenetic alteration products of tuffaceous components in sandstone reservoirs of Paleogene Wenchang Formation in typical subsags of the Huizhou-Lufeng area of the Zhu I Depression,Pearl River Mouth Basin,were identified through microscopic analysis and quantitative analysis of main and trace elements.The impacts of dissolution of different tuffaceous components on physical properties of reservoirs were discussed through quantitative characterization of reservoir physical properties.The results show that there are mainly four types of tuffaceous components in the study area,which are acidic,intermediate,basic and alkaline tuffaceous components.The acidic tuffaceous components evolved in a process of strong alteration and weak dissolution of alteration products,with a large amount of kaolinite precipitated during alteration to disenable the improvement of porosity and permeability.The intermediate and alkaline tuffaceous components evolved in a process of strong dissolution of tuffaceous components and strong alteration of residual tuffaceous components;the dissolution of tuffaceous components created intergranular pores,but the alteration products such as autogenic quartz,apatite and illite deteriorated the pore structure;ultimately,the dissolution of tuffaceous components resulted in the increase of porosity but no increase of permeability of the reservoir.The basic tuffaceous components dominantly evolved in a process of dissolution of tuffaceous components to strong dissolution of alteration products;both tuffaceous components between particles and laumontite generated from alteration can be strongly dissolved to create pores;thus,the dissolution of tuffaceous components can significantly increase the physical properties of the reservoir. 展开更多

A CMOS UV and blue-extended photodiode is presented and fabricated for light detection in the ultraviolet/blue spectral range. An octagon homocentric ring-shaped geometry is used to improve the ultraviolet responsivity and suppress edge breakdown. This paper has established a two-dimensional responsivity physical model for the presented photodiode and given some numerical analyses. The dead layer effect, which is caused by the high-doping effects and boron redistribution, is considered when analyzing the distribution of the current of the proposed UV and blue-extended photodiode. In the dead layer, the boron doping profile decreases towards the surface. Simulated results illustrate that the responsivity in the UV range is obviously decreased by the effect of the dead layer, while it is not affected in the visible and near-infrared part of the spectrum. The presented photodiode is fabricated and the silicon tested results are given, which agree well with the simulated ones. 展开更多
