Research on Creation Strategies of Picture Books for Children’s Cognitive and Imaginative Development

This paper discusses the creation strategies of picture books for children’s cognitive and imaginative development,and proposes that picture book creation should closely focus on the needs of children’s cognitive and imaginative development.Through analysis,this paper summarizes the effective strategies in the creation of picture books,aiming to provide theoretical reference and practical guidance for the design of children’s picture books,and further promote the comprehensive development of children’s cognitive and imaginative abilities.

A Study on the Values and Strategies of English Picture Book Reading for Improving Pupils’ English Reading Literacy

Reading is one of the core skills in English learning.It is indispensable for EFL learners to develop good English reading literacy in primary schools.English picture books are consistent with pupils’cognitive and thinking modes,which is valuable to improve their English reading literacy.However,at present,most Chinese pupils have some problems in English reading.The paper aims at analyzing the current problems in Chinese pupils’English reading and digging out the values and strategies of English picture book reading,so as to stimulate their reading interests,cultivate their intercultural awareness,and improve their English reading literacy.

Talking with Children about Cancer: A Content Analysis of Text in Children’s Picture Books

Introduction: To tell children that they are diagnosed with cancer is challenging for any healthcare professional and family. Pictures books are one of the communication tools for talking with children about severe diseases. However, little research is available about the contents of picture books about cancer for children. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the contents of children’s picture books about cancer and explore the advantages and disadvantages of using picture books to communicate with children about cancer. Methods: We searched the picture books about cancer written for children aged under ten years old on the Amazon.com Web site on 5 July 2019 and hand-searched on the cancer-related institutes’ Web site. We extracted the texts of relevant picture books and conducted a content analysis of them. Results: We identified 2555 picture books and included 30 of them. We identified three main contents, 1) cancer-related knowledge, 2) impacts of cancer, and 3) dealing with cancer. These contents were written with simple words and illustrations. Some of them included the essential contents, which might be misunderstood by children. Conclusions: Picture books might be helpful for children to understand about cancer. However, as these books do not include all contents, it is necessary to select and use multiple books depending on the content which is wanted to tell the child. Further research should evaluate the impacts of these books as a communication tool when talking with children diagnosed with cancer.

Children’s Picture Book is a Powerful Method of Cultural Communication of Zhuang Folk Tales

Through the investigation of children’s picture book market,the understanding of the development of picture book design in Chinese and Western countries,the research on the picture book status of Guangxi’s“Zhuang Folk Story”and the combing and induction of relevant theories,the reasons for the blank phenomenon in the research of Guangxi Zhuang Folk Story Picture Book are understood.Through the research and analysis of the present situation,it is necessary to solve the problems such as unclear national characteristics of picture images in picture books,insufficient literariness and interest of picture books to attract readers,and lagging development of related cultural communication and cultural industry.

On the Modern English Picture Book in the Teaching of English Reading in Lower Grades of Elementary School

Nowadays, more and more educators have affirmed that picture book plays an important significance in the development of children and thought that reading picture book is indispensable to the education of lower grades of elementary school.However, the teaching of reading in English, most teachers have not realized the satisfactory teaching effect, it is necessary to analyze the theoretical basis of English picture book and its application in the teaching of English reading in lower grades of elementary school and dig its value.

Stratified Teaching Method of English Picture Book Reading in Primary Schools

With the advancement of the new curriculum reform,many schools have put forward the idea of combing English reading with stratified teaching.Enhancing the effectiveness of reading English picture books is an important goal that most English teachers uphold when reforming the teaching of English reading.In order to achieve this goal,it is necessary to improve the teaching methods of reading.Reading picture books is an important way to improve students5 core competencies in English.However,at present,the method of teaching reading in primary school is simple;in addition,the teaching activities are not well organized.Therefore,in order to improve students5 core competencies in English,this article points out several issues in the teaching of English picture book reading and provides some pedagogical implications for the teaching in this aspect based on the stratified teaching method and classroom observation by including Class 1,Grade 2 students from a primary school in Leshan as the research subjects.

Modelling Design of Color Graphics Books Using Visual Vocabulary Based on Children’s Color Language Preferences

Color language has important meaning for children’s picture books.Understanding children’s preferences in terms of color language will be helpful when designers model computerized picture books in order to adapt to children’s visual senses and effectively stimulate children’s interest in reading.In this study,we aimed to further explore the general characteristics of children’s preference for colors,color depth and color matching forms in picture books.For the study,256 children between the ages of three and six were selected and divided into four groups.According to the implementation needs of the children’s color preference test,these childrenwere asked to complete a series of tasks so that their choices in the tasks could subsequently be analyzed.The tasks included making the following choices:selecting their preferred colors from nine options(red,orange,yellow,green,cyan,blue,purple,black and white);selecting their preferred color brightness fromthree different color shades;and indicating their preferences in relation to complementary colors,matching colors and pure colors.The experimental results showed that children aged between three and six mainly favor red,blue and yellow,and colors with a high degree of brightness.As children grow older,boys tend to prefer blue,and girls tend to prefer pink,with red remaining the favorite color of both genders.As for complementary colors,matching colors and solid colors,three-to six-year-old children prefer solid colors.In conclusion,it seems that color language preferences in children between the ages of three and six are very similar,which could be of use when designing children’s picture books to match their visual vocabulary and psychological cognition.

A Content Analysis of Multicultural Children＇s Books in the Republic of Korea and America

Picture books are a staple in the kindergarten classroom for teaching content, social expectations, and the joy of reading. The purpose of this study is to explore the representation and depiction of multicultural families in children＇s picture books within kindergarten classroom libraries. Children＇s pictures books are a microcosm of today＇s society. They convey cultural messages and values about society, and help children learn about their heritage and the heritage of others. Children＇s literature is increasingly more reflective of diverse cultures. Children need to see themselves reflected in literature in order to see the lives of others, and in order to see themselves as able to transverse between groups and worlds. America （U.S.） has been and will always be a diverse nation. Likewise, the Republic of Korea （ROK） is quickly becoming a multicultural society as well, and the influx of multicultural families is growing exponentially. Books depicting this growing diversity can dispose of stereotypes that children may have about races other than their own. Children＇s literature is still not authentically portraying a multiethnic Korea. The results of this study show that children who interact with current picture books predominantly see Korean faces. Finding books depicting non-Korean characters, particularly books depicting culturally specific elements, is rare, although there are books depicting culturally neutral and generic characters However, although our classrooms are culturally and ethnically diverse, the books predominantly found in classrooms portray only one race. What does that tell our students？ Seeing diverse populations in children＇s literature needs to become the norm, not the exception.

The Impacts of Co-creation of Local Culture English Books on EFL 5th Graders＇ English Vocabulary Ability and Local Cultural Knowledge

The purpose of this study aims to explore the impacts of task-based co-creation of local picture books on facilitating the development of vocabulary ability and cultural knowledge ofEFL 5th graders with different English proficiency levels in Taiwan. Twenty-one 5th graders participated in this study forty minutes per week, lasting for sixteen weeks. They were required to co-create English picture books of Pinghu through thematic task-based activities. Research data required for the study were collected through the pre-/post-tests of vocabulary and cultural knowledge, a participants＇ feedback questionnaire as well as semi-structured interviews. The results of this study showed that after experimental instruction, EFL 5th graders significantly improved their recognition of the connection between English word sounds and word meanings, word meanings and word forms, word forms and word meanings, as well as spellings. Moreover, their local cultural knowledge was improved significantly as well. Furthermore, based upon the 5th graders＇ responses to questionnaire and semi-structure interview, most of them developed a very positive attitude towards the activities of co-creating local picture books and their interest, self-confidence in English writing, and English learning behavior. Based on the findings, some suggestions were offered for the pedagogical applications and future studies.

Application of Mianzhu New Year Painting Art Style in Children’s Picture Books

This paper analyzes the attraction of children's language learning and literacy through the collation of Chinese Mianzhu New Year's Paintings art style,analyzes the attraction of children's language learning and literacy through the reading of early children's New Year's Paintings art style picture books,summarizes the use of pre-school children's favorite picture book survey reports and data,and analyzes the case of the excellent picture book design that has won awards for integrating the Chinese traditional art style,and the result shows that Mianzhu New Year's Paintings art style has great potential to be explored in the field of picture books.The results show that Mianzhu Nianhua art style in the field of picture books has great potential to be explored,and its artistic characteristics have strong extensibility and integration,and the use of saturated,bright colors combined with children's favorite picture book themes will be more attractive to children to read picture books.This study provides a new design reference for the integration of traditional Chinese art styles with children's picture books,which can enhance children's language learning and literacy skills while promoting the traditional Chinese art of Mianzhu New Year's Paintings.

绘本图画叙事中的情节展示艺术探析

以叙事学理论为指导研究绘本的图画叙事、版式设计和画框调节是实现绘本图画叙事的重要手段。利用版式设计和画框变化页面中的图画形态及其关系,使绘本中的系列图画在读者的视知觉及想象中形成连贯性、叙事性,以及叙事节奏的起伏变化。

学前儿童增强现实绘本交互体验影响因素研究

AR等数字技术在童书出版领域的探索与创新应用,颇受行业与研究者关注。研究旨在通过学前儿童AR绘本交互体验影响因素及其作用机制的探究,为提升儿童AR绘本的交互体验设计提供理论支持与实践参考。研究以CAC感知—情感—行为意愿理论模型为基础,采用心理学实验观察和儿童用户体验测量等方法 ,构建出交互体验影响因素模型,并使用PLS-SEM进行假设检验与模型评估。研究结果显示,交互界面、交互系统、交互功能均正向显著影响感知体验,在AR绘本的市场启动初期“交互功能”是影响交互体验的首要因素。从中可见:通过交互功能多模态感知可提升儿童自发探索与自我成就意愿;适度信息载荷与把握具象审美可形成正向界面感知;交互系统稳定高效可有效避免儿童消极情感与规避意图等,是提升儿童AR绘本用户交互体验的有效路径。

新时代背景下听障儿童绘本设计发展策略研究

目的通过对听障儿童绘本发展现状及创作瓶颈进行深入分析,结合听障儿童绘本的设计原则,提出新时代背景下听障儿童绘本发展的新策略,以更好地服务于听障儿童言语、语境、身心认知、沟通能力等康复领域。方法梳理国内外听障儿童绘本发展现状,通过内容、造型、色彩等分析总结绘本的设计特点和表达要素,运用实证研究、案例研究等方法并依据听障儿童绘本设计原则和设计要点提出听障儿童绘本设计和发展策略。结果提出听障儿童绘本的设计和发展策略,这些发展策略能够提高听障儿童绘本的设计质量,为中国的原创听障儿童绘本市场注入新的活力,有助于推动听障儿童绘本领域的可持续发展。结论发挥听障儿童视觉优势,尊重听障儿童本位,注重绘本艺术设计,鼓励探索与创新,重视听障绘本融合数字交互化,使绘本的形式多样化,表达方式多元化。同时,也可以完善听障绘本高校人才培养体系,注重听障绘本评估应用效果化,实现产教深度融合。

全民阅读视角下公共图书馆少儿绘本阅读推广的实践与思考——以宁夏图书馆为例

全民阅读受到全社会的广泛关注,少儿阅读推广是全民阅读推广工作的重点,绘本多元化的内容和直观的图像色彩有益于激发少儿的阅读兴趣,并能提高少儿的阅读能力和学习潜力。该文以宁夏图书馆开展的少儿绘本阅读推广活动为例,在梳理和总结少儿绘本阅读推广经验的基础上,提出公共图书馆在现阶段,应当加强对少儿绘本阅读服务的重视,拓展少儿绘本阅读空间,提升馆藏绘本的数量和质量,强化专业人才队伍建设,开展多元化、常态化的绘本阅读推广活动,扩大宣传范围,增强社会影响力,提高少儿读者的阅读意识,引导少儿读者爱上阅读、健康阅读,进一步促进全民阅读推广活动的开展。

论古典目录学与学术史的关系

古典目录学是用书目的形式反映学术发展源流的一门学问。古典书目是学术史著作的重要组成部分,也是研究学术史的必读典籍。古典目录学对于学术史研究,有不可替代的功用。与学术史关系密切的四部古典书目是《汉书·艺文志》《隋书·经籍志》《文献通考·经籍考》《四库全书总目》。《二十五史艺文经籍志考补萃编》和《萃编续刊》的汇编整理出版,摸清了中国文献典籍的家底,为中国古籍总目的编纂,建立文献典籍数据库,打下了坚实的基础。

阅读疗法在儿童心理干预中的应用与疗效——基于59篇实证研究文献415个书目的内容分析

文章以2008—2023年59篇国内外儿童阅读疗法实证研究所涉及的59个书单及415个书目为样本,从书目适用对象、书单来源、书目特点和书目效果4个方面、9个子维度进行内容分析。研究发现,儿童阅读疗法书目的适用对象涉及到的需求分类越来越精细,书目的主题、体裁和形式具有较强的针对性,儿童阅读疗法在改善儿童情绪、行为及认知问题上具有显著疗效,但在书单自行编制、本土阅读书目开发、专业人员培养及后续效果追踪等方面,我国尚需立足本土文化,实现阅读疗法创新性、系统性、科学性、严谨性的发展。

基于扎根理论的智障儿童绘本设计策略研究

探究智障儿童绘本设计策略,为智障儿童绘本设计提供一个系统性的理论参照,助力智障儿童学习成长与康复。研究基于扎根理论,以《智障儿童无障碍学习全媒体出版工程》为例,采用网络数据采集,对数据进行编码分析,得出绘本设计的影响因素,并构建绘本设计影响因素模型。分析影响因素模型,指出智障儿童绘本设计受到视觉设计因素、传达设计因素和体验设计因素的影响,并提出对策建议。

饶宗颐《词集考》与20世纪词学专科目录的成熟

饶宗颐的《词集考》不仅是一部有关词籍版本梳理和考证的提要目录,更是一部专科性质极强的词学书目。他在编撰该书过程中既综合了其各阶段的目录学研究成果,又继承和发展了王国维、陶湘、赵万里、赵尊岳、孙人和等现代学者的撰著经验,在词学目录学上实现了四个方面的学术突破:完整地著录了明清以前的词籍,实现了词籍文献的合理分类,形成了统一严谨的撰著规范,实践了现代词学“目录之学”的学科建构。《词集考》是现代词籍目录之学的集大成者,标志着20世纪词学专科目录走向成熟。

绘本在儿童哲学活动中的运用

随着儿童哲学的发展,绘本在儿童哲学中的应用也越来越受到重视,图文结合的叙事形式成为开展儿童哲学的重要载体。文章通过分析绘本在儿童哲学实施过程中存在的问题,建议通过提高教师哲学素养、充分挖掘高质量的本土原创绘本、多举措形成家园共育的合力等途径提高儿童哲学的教学质量。
