The results show that high-energy pions are emitted preferentially towards the target side and, therefore, they are freezed out at the early stage of the collision. By contrast, low-energy pions are emitted predominantly in the opposite direction, which means that they are emitted in a later stage. This argument is based on the shadowing effect caused by the interaction of pions with the spectator matter in peripheral collisions at target or projectile rapidities. This phenomenon disappears in the central collision or at midrapidity due to the weaker shadowing effect. The calculated ratios are also compared with the experimental data.展开更多

In the process of determining charged kaon and neutral kaonmasses, we obtain masses of u, d, and s quarks that are slightly smaller than the currently accepted values. Using these masses, we obtain light meson mass spectra that includes mass splitting of charged and neutral kaons and ρ mesons. The most interesting of our results is that the pion mass remains unchanged even though u, d, and s quarks become massive.展开更多

The analytic properties of scattering amplitudes provide important information. Besides the cuts, the poles and zeros on the different Riemann sheets determine the global behavior of the amplitude on the physical axis. Pole positions and residues allow for a parameterization of resonances in a well-defined way, free of assumptions for the background and energy dependence of the resonance part. This is a necessary condition to relate resonance contributions in different reactions.展开更多
