Parameterized monogamy and polygamy relations of multipartite entanglement

Monogamy and polygamy relations are important properties of entanglement,which characterize the entanglement distribution of multipartite systems.We explore monogamy and polygamy relations of entanglement in multipartite systems by using two newly derived parameterized mathematical inequalities,and establish classes of parameterized monogamy and polygamy relations of multiqubit entanglement in terms of concurrence and entanglement of formation.We show that these new parameterized monogamy and poelygamy inequalities are tighter than the existing ones by detailed examples.

The Poison of Polygamy:Genre of the English Translation

When the Chinese-language The Poison of Polygamy was translated into English,some critics identified the work as picaresque.Skeptical of this conclusion,the author of this paper broadens the field of inquiry to suggest classification in an emigrant sensational genre.Briefly,the first two plots of the multi-strand work unfold the adventures of Chinese emigrants travelling by sea and land to Melbourne’s Gold Mountain.Interestingly,we are also afforded a glimpse of emigrant miners’cooperation regardless of race and colour when a mine disaster occurs.The work provides sharp recognition of migrants’dilemmas,such as marriage,before tackling the bigamy issue,the gender war,the fallen lifestyle of the female protagonist and so on.As the work unfolds,further shocking tales of murders and indulgence are revealed.Unlike the picareque’s episodic style,the translated Poison of Polygamy is coherent,realistic,serious and critical,and completely lacking in both sarcasm and playfulness.To investigate the appropriateness of assigning the work to the picaresque genre,the paper compares briefly with representative Spanish picaresque works such as Lazarillo and Gusman and English canonical Moll Flanders,watching carefully for commonalities.However,The Poison of Polygamy would seem to resonate more with Braddon’s Lady Audley’s Secret,a sensational fiction which shocked the English world in the 1860s.The contexts of both novels are close,mid-Victorian and Edwardian,where the latter is a continuation of the Victorians.The author is further enlightened by research results of literary translators who advocate that a text,once translated into a target language,becomes a canon of that culture and is cherished as such by its readers-as in the case of Shakespeare being revered as a German poet when read in translation.From this experiment the paper deems that cross-lingual comparative literature is not only possible but significant and resourceful.

Monogamy and polygamy relations of multiqubit entanglement based on unified entropy

Monogamy relation is one of the essential properties of quantum entanglement,which characterizes the distribution of entanglement in a multipartite system.By virtual of the unified-(q,s) entropy,we obtain some novel monogamy and polygamy inequalities in general class of entanglement measures.For the multiqubit system,a class of tighter monogamy relations are established in term of the a-th power of unified-(q,s) entanglement for a> 1.We also obtain a class of tighter polygamy relations in the β-th(0≤β≤1) power of unified-(q,s) entanglement of assistance.Applying these results to specific quantum correlations,e.g.,entanglement of formation,Renyi-q entanglement of assistance,and Tsallisq entanglement of assistance,we obtain the corresponding monogamy and polygamy relations.Typical examples are presented for illustration.Furthermore,the complementary monogamy and polygamy relations are investigated for theα-th(0≤α≤1) and β-th(β≥1) powers of unified entropy,respectively,and the corresponding monogamy and polygamy inequalities are obtained.

Mental health and polygamy: The Syrian case

AIM: To examine the psychological, self-esteem(SE), family function, marital satisfaction, life satisfaction and degree of agreement with the practice of polygamy among polygamous women with a control group from monogamous women in Syria. METHODS: Convenience sample of 136 women, 64 of whom were wives in polygamous marriages and 72 were wives in monogamous marriages participated in this study. A snowball method of sampling was used, conducted by undergraduate local female students trained to collect data according to culturally competent methods. The following research instruments were deployed: the symptoms checklist-90, the Rosenberg SE, the Life Satisfaction, family function and marital satisfaction. RESULTS: Findings revealed that women in polygamous marriages experienced lower SE, less life satisfaction, less marital satisfaction and more mental health symptomatology than women in monogamous marriages. Many of the mental health symptoms were different; noteworthy were elevated somatization, depression, hostility and psychoticism and their general severity index was higher. Furthermore, "first wife syndrome" was examined in polygamous families, comparing first with second and third wives in polygamous marriages. Findings indicated that first wives reported on more family problems, less SE, more anxiety, moreparanoid ideation, and more psychoticism than second and third wives. CONCLUSION: These results are best understood through consideration of the socio-cultural and economic realities facing these women. Implications for mental health practice, policy and further research are discussed.

Optimized monogamy and polygamy inequalities for multipartite qubit entanglement

We investigate the monogamy and polygamy inequalities of arbitrary multipartite quantum states,and provide new classes of monogamy and polygamy inequalities of multiqubit entanglement in terms o f concurrence,entanglement of formation,negativity,and Tsallis-q entanglement,respectively.We show that these new monogamy and polygamy inequality relations are tighter than the existing ones with detailed examples.

Monogamy and polygamy for the generalized W-class states using unified-(q,s)entropy

We describe the entanglement distribution and restricted shareability of the multipartite generalized W-class states and their reduced density matrix under arbitrary partitions by using monogamy and polygamy relation based on the unified-(q,s)entropy.Firstly,we provide an analytical formula of unified-(q,s)entanglement(UE)and an analytical lower bound of unified-(q,s)entanglement of assistance(UEo A)for a reduced density matrix of a generalized W-class state.Then,we use these two analytical formulas to derive the monogamy and polygamy inequalities for a reduced density matrix of a qudit generalized W-class(GW)state.We establish two partition-dependent residual entanglements based on the new monogamy relation,which is helpful to obtain a comprehensive analysis of entanglement dynamics of generalized W-class states.Further,we investigate tighter monogamy and polygamy relations based on the power ofαth(α≥0)for UE andβth(β≥0)for UEo A,respectively.The results show that the entanglement distribution characteristics of generalized W-class states satisfying stronger constraints can be described more accurately.

Hierarchical Polygamy Inequality for Entanglement of Tsallis q-Entropy

In this paper, we study the polygamy inequality of quantum entanglement in terms of Tsallis q-entropy.We first give a lower bound of Tsallis q-entropy entanglement of assistance(TOA) in the 2 d systems. The relationships between Tsallis q-entropy entanglement(TEE) and TOA are also given. Furthermore, we prove TOA follows a hierarchical polygamy inequality in a 2 2 2^(N-2) systems.

Unified entropy entanglement with tighter constraints on multipartite systems

Monogamy and polygamy relations characterize the distributions of entanglement in multipartite systems.We provide a characterization of multiqubit entanglement constraints in terms of unified-(q,s)entropy.A class of tighter monogamy inequalities of multiqubit entanglement based on theα-th power of unified-(q,s)entanglement forα≥1 and a class of polygamy inequalities in terms of theβ-th power of unified-(q,s)entanglement of assistance are established in this paper.Our results present a general class of the monogamy and polygamy relations for bipartite entanglement measures based on unified-(q,s)entropy,which are tighter than the existing ones.What is more,some usual monogamy and polygamy relations,such as monogamy and polygamy relations based on entanglement of formation,Renyi-q entanglement of assistance and Tsallis-q entanglement of assistance,can be obtained from these results by choosing appropriate parameters(q,s)in unified-(q,s)entropy entanglement.Typical examples are also presented for illustration.

Tighter constraints of multiqubit entanglement in terms of Renyi-α entropy

Quantum entanglement plays essential roles in quantum information processing.The monogamy and polygamy relations characterize the entanglement distributions in the multipartite systems.We present a class of monogamy inequalities related to theµ-th power of the entanglement measure based on Renyi-αentropy,as well as polygamy relations in terms of theµ-th power of Renyi-αentanglement of assistance.These monogamy and polygamy relations are shown to be tighter than the existing ones.

A Critical Appraisal of the Ideology of Monogamy’s Influence on HIV Epidemiology

The linked ideas that all members of society should only engage in monogamous relationships and that these should all be based on romantic love are decided outliers from a historical perspective. Despite this, there is a widespread contemporary belief that monogamy based on love is the most ethical and natural form of partnering for humans—mononormativism. It has long been accepted that our values influence how we frame and interpret scientific questions. In the article we ask, using the example of mononormativism, how does an individual’s sexual ethics influence how they pursue HIV epidemiology? Using a Social Intuitionalist theoretical framework, we argue that a belief in monogamy-as-normative has contributed to certain researchers dismissing the evidence that the generalized HIV epidemics in parts of Africa are due to higher rates of non-monogamy.

Tighter Constraints of Multiqubit Entanglement

Integrative demographic study of the Iberian painted frog(Discoglossus galganoi):inter-annual variation in the effective to census population size ratio,with insights on mating system and breeding success

In the face of worldwide amphibian declines,integrative studies combining individual-based information and genetic data represent a powerful approach to produce robust,reliable,and comparable assessments of demographic dynamics.The Iberian painted frog(Discoglossus galganoi)is endemic to Spain and Portugal and shows decreasing population trends across its range,but few studies have attempted to estimate census sizes or assess genetic diversity in wild populations,and little is known about their reproductive biology.We applied an integrative approach based on the combination of capture-mark-recapture data and multilocus genotypes to monitor a breeding population of D.galganoi in central Spain during two consecutive breeding seasons,focusing on the estimation of demographic parameters and their temporal variation.Specifically,we estimated the number of adults(Na),the effective population size(Ne),and the effective number of breeders(Nb),as well as survival and migration rates.We documented a>50%decrease in the estimated number of adults of both sexes between the breeding seasons of 2018 and 2019,probably associated with reduced rainfall in the latter.Estimates of Nb and the Nb/Na ratio were low in both seasons,with a 20–30%decrease in Nb and a 47%increase in the Nb/Na ratio in 2019.Based on the reconstruction of pedigrees from larval and adult genotypes,we provide the first genetic evidence of polygamy in males and females of D.galganoi and the first estimates of breeding success in the species.
