Practice and Exploration of Ideological and Political Education for Postgraduate Students Under the Mentor Responsibility System

This study aims to address the problems existing in the ideological and political education of postgraduate students,and combines the implementation of the mentor responsibility system to explore the role orientation,work content,and practical effects of mentors in the ideological and political education of postgraduate students.Through questionnaire surveys,interviews,and other research methods,the current situation of ideological and political education of postgraduate students under the mentor responsibility system is analyzed,and corresponding optimization strategies are proposed.

Influence of English Proficiency on Postgraduate Students＇ Use of Language Learning Strategies

This study investigated the use of language learning strategies by a group of postgraduate students in a Chinese university. The emphasis was on the influence of L2 （second language） proficiency on learners＇ strategy use, aiming to look at how proficiency affects the use of LLS （language learning strategies） among postgraduate students learning EFL （English as a foreign language）, and to reveal some distinctive features in postgraduate students＇ use of learning strategies. Findings from this study have suggested a number of implications for the classroom teaching. Teachers should recognize that some strategies might be more suited to some learners than to others due to individual differences. Learners needed further training in the use of all learning strategies

Application of Academic Salons in Cultivating the Scientific Research Skills of First-Year Nursing Master’s Students

Objective:To explore the application effect of academic salons on developing the scientific research skills of first-year nursing master’s students.Methods:According to Wallas’four-stage model of the creative process,from November 2022 to February 2023,66 first-year nursing master’s students from the School of Nursing at Zhejiang Chinese Medical University were selected using a convenient sampling method to participate in a multidisciplinary academic salon consisting of a total of 8 sessions held once every two weeks.Before the first and after the last academic salon,postgraduate research skills evaluation questionnaires and perception of research skills acquisition questionnaires were used to assess first-year nursing master’s students.A semi-structured interview was conducted with nine students after the final academic salon.Results:The total scores for scientific research skills and sense of achievement among first-year nursing master’s students after the academic salon were higher than those before the salon,and the difference was statistically significant.The interview results showed that the“salon theme,”“tutor comments,”and“sharer output”are the focus of the first-year nursing master’s students in the academic salon.Conclusions:Academic salons can enhance postgraduate students’scientific research skills and foster a greater appreciation for scientific research.We can enhance academic salons by carefully choosing relevant themes,inviting knowledgeable presenters and expert tutors to provide feedback,and prioritizing equality and effective communication.

A Study on English Teaching for Postgraduates Under the Background of＂the Silk Road Culture＂

When visiting Kazakhstan,President Xi Jinping proposed the strategic project to build the＂ Silk Road economic zone＂ . Under this background,the study of postgraduate students＇ English teaching is very important.This paper analyzes the historical status of the Silk Road,the significance of culture teaching of Silk Road countries,presents the study of the main elements and its implementation approaches of the Silk Road culture teaching in postgraduate students＇ English class,with the purpose of making more educators to participate in the＂ Silk Road economic zone＂ construction.

Application Experience of Eyesi Operation Simulation Training System in the Teaching of Cataract Surgery for Ophthalmology Masters

Objective:To explore the application effect of the Eyesi surgical simulator in the teaching of cataract surgery for professional ophthalmology postgraduate students.Methods:The professional postgraduate students who were trained in the third year of ophthalmology at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Medical University were selected as the research objects.After passing the theoretical examination,they were randomly divided into the pig eyeball group,Eyesi group,and pig eye+Eyesi group,with 5 students in each group.The pig eyeball,Eyesi surgery simulator,and pig eye+Eyesi surgery simulator were used for microscopic technique operation and cataract surgery steps training,respectively.After the training,the overall training effects of the three groups of postgraduates were scored,and questionnaires were used to objectively evaluate the three training methods.Results:The scores of the students in the pig eye+Eyesi group were better than those in the Eyesi group,and the students in the Eyesi group were better than those in the pig eyeball group.Conclusion:The Eyesi surgical simulation training system can evaluate the microsurgical skills of professional masters and improve their surgical skills.This system is of great significance for the training of the cataract surgery skills of professional masters.

AN INVESTIGATION OF COMMUNICATION STRATEGIES USED BY CHINESE NON-ENGLISH MAJOR POSTGRADUATES

This paper, through tape-recording students' conversations with native speakers, makes an attempt to examine the use of CSs by Chinese non-English major students at postgraduate level. The results show that the students are not competent in using CSs, which is easily seen in their heavy reliance on the L1-based strategies and appeal for assistance strategy rather than the more efficient and effective L2-based strategies. Inexperienced in oral communication and unaware of CSs, the students in general need awareness training in the use of CSs. Suggestions are then given as to how to conduct the training in terms of form, procedure and materials.

Research on the construction and practice of the evaluation system of postgraduate supervision

In recent years,with the rapid development and expansion of postgraduate education in China,the cultivation quality has become increasingly prominent.In graduate education activities,there are many factors that affect the quality of cultivation,among which the tutor’s guiding ability is undoubtedly the key factor that affects the quality of graduate students’cultivation.In the 2020 National Graduate Education Conference,one of its topics is how to objectively quantify the guiding ability of supervisors based on which the teaching resources can be optimally allocated.Taking Hangzhou Dianzi University as an example,this paper investigates the index systems to evaluate the guiding ability of graduate students’supervisors including 6 first-level indicators and 19 second-level indicators in order to further improve the cultivation performance of graduate students.
