The results indicate that the length... A new kind of surfactant, [CnH_(2n+1)OCH2CH(OH)CH2N(CH3)3]Cl (n=12, 14, 16) was synthesized. The solubility of benzyl alcohol in micellar solutions was determined by 1H NMR method. The results indicate that the length of alkyl chains of surfactant affects the solubility of ben-zyl alcohol in 2.5 × l0^(-2) mol/L micellar solutions. The solubility of benzyl alcohol per liter of micellar solution is 0.095 mole for n=12, 0.115 mole for n=14, 0.165 mole for n=16. The transfer free energy of benzyl alcohol from aqueous phase to micellar phase is -24.29 kJ/mol for n=12, -24.37 kJ/mol for n=14, -24.49 kJ/mol for n=16. 展开更多

Standard Gibbs Energies of Transfer for KBPh_4 from Water to Water+PrOH and Water+TBA Mixtures and the Primary Medium Effects

The standard Gibbs energies of transfer (Δ tr G 0) for potassium tetraphenylborate (KBPh 4) have been studied in the systems of water and water +1 propanol (PrOH) as well as water and water + t butyl alcohol (TBA) at 298.15?K. The results show that -Δ tr G 0 exhibits a complicated changing pattern with the mole fraction of TBA( x (TBA)) or PrOH ( x (PrOH)), and Δ tr G 0 has the a maximum value at x (TBA) = 0.2 or x (PrOH)=0.2. Especially, -Δ tr G 0 of KBPh 4 changes unusually with increasing x (TBA) when x (TBA) < 0.05. The reasons for these changes were analyzed and discussed. 展开更多

These data can be expressed by 1gS=-(1.4184-0.8725lgn)/(1-132.45T-1), where n are the atomic number of carbon for the straight chains monohydric alcohols; T is the temperatuxe. The standard transfer free energies (△tG) of KBPh4 from water to straight chains monohydric alcohols in the temperature ranges of 288.15-328.15K have been calculated. The results can be expressed as △tG=-18.029+5.766×10-5T2+(6.817×10-2-5.302×10-10T3)-1lgn. 展开更多

The standard transfer Gibbs energy(Δ trG ) of potassium tetraphenylborate (KBPh4) from water to water and 2-propanol solvent mixtures and from methanol to methanol and 2-propanol solvent mixtures within the whole concentration range of the mixed solvents are studied at 298.15 K.TheΔ trG value of KBPh4 reaches an extreme value from water to water and 2-propanol solvent mixtures,while it increases monotonically with an increasing of 2-propanol content in methanol and 2-propanol solvent mixtures.This indicates the different interaction of KBPh4 with the two kind of solvent mixtures. 展开更多

Solubilities of ammonium tetraphenylborate (NH4BPh4) in water- t- butyl alcohol (TBA) mixed solvents at 283.15,293.15,298.15,303.15 and 308.15 K have been determined by spectrophotometry.The standard Gibbs energy of transfer (Δ G t) of NH4BPh4 from water to H2O- TBA mixtures and the primary medium effect of NH4BPh4 from 283.15 to 308.15 K were studied.The results show that-Δ G t exhibits a complicated variation pattern with the increase in the mole fraction of TBA [x(TBA)] at the same temperature .When x(TBA) < 0.06,-Δ G t increases very slowly with x(TBA),the-Δ G t increases rapidly with x(TBA) when x(TBA) from 0.06 to 0.2.For x(TBA)> 0.2,the-Δ G t decreases with increasing x(TBA).The largest value of -Δ G t occurs at x(TBA) = 0.2.The main reason for this variation was analyzed and discussed. 展开更多
