It aims at the "narrow and limited view" of "not the general aesthetics, but the artistic beauty only", and it aims at biased opinion of "the interest saying", "the fine arts saying", "the esthetic sense saying" on aesthetics. It also aims at serious distraction of "LEFT in form but RIGHT in essence" of the mainstream ideology "the thought", "the revolution", "politics" and so on. The idea of “Belt & Road” Initiative has a deep root in Chinese traditional philosophy. Silk Road has become a symbol of peace and friendship in Chinese culture and it always brings back the good memories in Chinese people about the prosperity of trade and economy. The both Silk Roads not only witnessed the exchange and communication between China and western areas to China, but also the most prosperous time in Chinese history. China proposes the “Belt & Road” Initiative with the purpose of constructing a more prosperous world by the jointing efforts of the nations all over the world. Because of the barriers and misconceptions in transcultural and cross-cultural activities, people from different cultures have difficulty in understanding the “Belt & Road” Initiative with its founding meanings. This paper aims to offer clear image about the background, context, and core points of the “Belt & Road” Initiative. In fact, the “Belt & Road” Initiative is natural reflection of Chinese traditional philosophy. If the essence of Chinese traditional philosophy, for example,“harmony but diversity”, the “peace and war” as well as the balance of “Yin” and “Yang” could be understood well, it would be much easier to have a correct understanding about the concept of the “Belt & Road” Initiative.展开更多

Opposing his coeval Durkheim's “social fact”, Tarde claims that this notion constitutes a methodological problem and the term “social” of Durkheim's crowds out “variability of relations”. According to him, determinants in social relations are more general and dynamic notions, such as: “change”, “contrast”, and “adaptation”. In this respect, not quite celebrated in his era, this philosopher is widely known as a metaphysician as well as a sociologist. His metaphysical ideas are clearly visible in various sections of his works, where he described with inspirations from natural phenomenon. Descriptions and analysis on natural phenomena constitute the greater part of his works. He points out similarities between the universe and the world of men in terms of functioning. Presenting these similarities, Tarde seems to reject any division between the men and the nature built up by “positive philosophy” and modern understanding. With his natural descriptions and concepts he inferred from these descriptions, such as“contradiction” and “harmony”, he almost tries to re-establish the bonds between the nature and the social life. Tarde's perception of holistic being and his ideas of “contradiction” and “harmony” in nature, are very close to the most basic axioms of the traditional Chinese thought. As a matter of fact, Tarde denotes these similarities in his novella called “Fragment d'histoire future (Underground Man)”. It is also an example to display an “East-West encounter” on a fictional plane.展开更多

Chinese sports aim at building the body and self-cultivation. The movement structures of sports are mainly the simulation of all kinds of movement of animals, which are particular about static and dynamic equilibrium, firmness, and gentleness, getting refined internally and externally. The feature of Chinese sports is the unification of form and spirit. The pattern of Chinese sports is closely related with Chinese philosophy thought, and the constructed Chinese sports culture has become the essential part of Chinese traditional philosophy. Chinese sports have integrated fitness and aesthetic appreciation into one, which is the specific expression of Chinese traditional thought. However, western sports have integrated with western philosophy thought with strong athletic tint. The characteristic of western sports has a necessary connection with the ancient Greek thought. Ancient Greeks had realized that the relationship between human and the nature was not totally dependent with contrariety, so they thought only fighting with the nature could they survive. The origins of thought of Chinese and western sports cultures decide the differences between Chinese and western sports. The harmony of China and competition of the west can be both embodied in sports. This thesis will analyze the differences between Chinese and western sports philosophy.展开更多

For example, they both recognize the role of language in constructing, and limiting, knowledge and reality. This is because thinkers of different cultures and geographical regions, and of different historical periods, can possibly come up with similar philosophical conclusions when addressing what is commonly known as the "human condition". The paper will discuss, in general terms, some of the philosophical similarities between postmodemism and classical Chinese philosophy; it will also take a close look at three concepts in Chinese philosophy that register strong affinity with Western postmodernism: namely, change, dialectic, and relativism.展开更多
