The...An efficient algorithm is proposed for computing the solution to the constrained finite time optimal control (CFTOC) problem for discrete-time piecewise affine (PWA) systems with a quadratic performance index. The maximal positively invariant terminal set, which is feasible and invariant with respect to a feedback control law, is computed as terminal target set and an associated Lyapunov function is chosen as terminal cost. The combination of these two components guarantees constraint satisfaction and closed-loop stability for all time. The proposed algorithm combines a dynamic programming strategy with a multi-parametric quadratic programming solver and basic polyhedral manipulation. A numerical example shows that a larger stabilizable set of states can be obtained by the proposed algorithm than precious work.展开更多

The observational data are analyzed with Continuous Wavelet Transform (CWT) and then used to extract MJO signals, which are added into the model to get a new model. After the Conditional Nonlinear Optimal Perturbation (CNOP) method has been used, the initial errors which can evolve into maximum prediction error, model errors and their join errors are gained and then the Nifio 3 indices and spatial structures of three kinds of errors are investigated. The results mainly show that the observational MJO has little impact on the maximum prediction error of ENSO events and the initial error affects much greater than model error caused by MJO forcing. These demonstrate that the initial error might be the main error source that produces uncertainty in ENSO prediction, which could provide a theoretical foundation for the adaptive data assimilation of the ENSO forecast and contribute to the ENSO target observation.展开更多

Two types of optimal filters are introduced into the framework of MPC to relax the assumption of integrated white noise model in existing approaches. The introduced filters are globally optimal for linear systems with unmeasured disturbances that have unknown statistics. 文摘Genomic selection, the application of genomic prediction(GP)models to select candidate individuals, has significantly advanced in the past two decades, effectively accelerating genetic gains in plant breeding. This article provides a holistic overview of key factors that have influenced GP in plant breeding during this period. We delved into the pivotal roles of training population size and genetic diversity, and their relationship with the breeding population,in determining GP accuracy.Special emphasis was placed on optimizing training population size.We explored its benefits and the associated diminishing returns beyond an optimum size. This was done while considering the balance between resource allocation and maximizing prediction accuracy through current optimization algorithms. The density and distribution of single-nucleotide polymorphisms, level of linkage disequilibrium, genetic complexity, trait heritability, statistical machine-learning methods, and non-additive effects are the other vital factors.Using wheat, maize, and potato as examples,we summarize the effect of these factors on the accuracy of GP for various traits. The search for high accuracy in GP—theoretically reaching one when using the Pearson’s correlation as a metric—is an active research area as yet far from optimal for various traits. We hypothesize that with ultra-high sizes of genotypic and phenotypic datasets, effective training population optimization methods and support from other omics approaches(transcriptomics, metabolomics and proteomics)coupled with deep-learning algorithms could overcome the boundaries of current limitations to achieve the highest possible prediction accuracy, making genomic selection an effective tool in plant breeding.
文摘As an innovative concept,an optimal predictive impedance controlle is introduced here to control a lower limb rehabilitation robo in the presence of uncertainty. The desired impedance law is considered to propose a conventional model-based impedance controller for the LLRR.However, external disturbances, model imperfection, and parameters uncertainties reduce the performance of the controller in practice. In order to cope with these uncertainties,an optimal predictive compensator is introduced as a solution for a proposed convex optimization problem, which is performed on a forward finite-length horizon. As a result, the LLRR has the desired behavior even in an uncertain environment. The performance and efficiency of the proposed controller are verified by the simulation results.

文摘First, a three-tier coordinated scheduling system consisting of a distribution network dispatch layer, a microgrid centralized control layer, and local control layer in the energy internet is proposed. The multi-time scale optimal scheduling of the microgrid based on Model Predictive Control(MPC) is then studied, and the optimized genetic algorithm and the microgrid multi-time rolling optimization strategy are used to optimize the datahead scheduling phase and the intra-day optimization phase. Next, based on the three-tier coordinated scheduling architecture, the operation loss model of the distribution network is solved using the improved branch current forward-generation method and the genetic algorithm. The optimal scheduling of the distribution network layer is then completed. Finally, the simulation examples are used to compare and verify the validity of the method.
文摘This paper proposes a new hybrid maximum power point tracking(MPPT)control strategy for grid-connected solar systems based on Incremental conductance—Particle Swarm Optimization and Model Predictive Controller(IncCond-PSOMPC).The purpose of the suggested method is to create as much power as feasible from a PV system during environmental changes, then transfer it to the power grid.To accomplish this,a hybrid combination of incremental conductance(IncCond)and particle swarm optimization(PSO)is proposed to locate maximum power, followed by model predictive control(MPC)to track maximum power and control the boost converter to achieve high performance regardless of parameter variations.A two-level inverter, likewise, controlled by Model Predictive Control,is employed to inject the PV power generated. In this application, the MPC is based on minimizing the difference between the reference and prediction powers, which is computed to select the switching state of the inverter. The proposed system is simulated and evaluated in a variety of dynamic conditions using Matlab/Simulink.Results reveal that the proposed control mechanism is effective at tracking the maximum power point(MPP)with fewer power oscillations.
文摘As Public Transport(PT)becomes more dynamic and demand-responsive,it increasingly depends on predictions of transport demand. But how accurate need such predictions be for effective PT operation? We address this question through an experimental case study of PT trips in Metropolitan Copenhagen,Denmark, which we conduct independently of any specific prediction models.First,we simulate errors in demand prediction through unbiased noise distributions that vary considerably in shape.Using the noisy predictions,we then simulate and optimize demand-responsive PT fleets via a linear programming formulation and measure their performance. Our results suggest that the optimized performance is mainly affected by the skew of the noise distribution and the presence of infrequently large prediction errors. In particular, the optimized performance can improve under non-Gaussian vs.Gaussian noise. We also find that dynamic routing could reduce trip time by at least 23%vs.static routing. This reduction is estimated at 809,000€/year in terms of Value of Travel Time Savings for the case study.
