The Singhal's cavitation model is adopted combined with an improved RNG k-ε turbulence model to study the cavitation flow. The thermal effect in the cavitation flow is taken into account by introducing the energy equation with a source term based on the latent heat transfer. The code is validated by a case of a hydrofoil under two different temperatures in a comparison between the simulation and the experiment. Computational results show that the latent heat of vaporization has a significant impact on the cavitation process in the high temperature state, and the cavity in the high temperature state is thinner and shorter than that in a normal state with the same cavitation number, due to the fact that the heat absorption in the cavitation area reduces the local temperature and the saturated vapor pressure. This numerical study provides some guidance for the design of machineries in the High Pressure and Temperature (HPT) state.展开更多

This is to monitor the variations in temperature and pressure of the vehicle’s tire, and the TPMS system is involved. It improves the driver’s safety by automatically detecting the tire pressure and temperature and then warning signal is sent to driver to take a measure, which prevents from accident. The proposed system of tire pressure monitoring system using SoC increases the speed of indication time to the driver by using mixed signals. The inflation of the tire can be avoided by preventing from high temperature and high pressure. Limitation of temperature and pressure in the previous system is also elongated i.e. temperature from 40℃ to 125℃ and pressure from 0 to 750 Kpa. Sensors, wireless communication (Bluetooth dongle) and SoC unit are used to design the low power TPMS. Quantitative results are taken and the analogy between temperature and pressure is also verified. The tested results proved by need of the practical system. Signal conditioning voltage and SoC unit is the trace for low power design TPMS. Finally, the performance of the system is tested and executed by using proteus software given as a real time application.展开更多

With the recent development of the experimental technique, studies of the electrical conductivity of hydrous silicate minerals under controlled temperature, pressure and oxygen fugacity, have helped to constrain the water distribution in the Earth's interior. This paper introduces high pressure and temperature experimental study of electrical conductivity measurement of hydrous minerals such as serpentine, talc, brucite, phase A, super hydrous phase B and phase D, and assesses the data quality of the above minerals. The dehydration effect and the pressure effect on the bulk conductivity of the hydrous minerals are specifically emphasized. The conduction mechanism of hydrous minerals and the electrical structure of the subduction zone are discussed based on the available conductivity data. Finally, the potential research fields of the electrical conductivity of hydrous minerals is presented.展开更多

The main objective is to explain the mechanisms of pressure reduction and energy conversion in the new PRV. A numerical simulation method was used to investigate the PRV internal flow field and to analyze the throttling effects of the orifice plate and the transform of thermal parameters as outlet pressure, outlet temperature, velocity, and superheat. A structure improvement method for the valve body and orifice plate is put forward to reduce energy loss. The governing equations for internal flow numerical simulation are composed of the continuity, momentum, energy and k-e transport equations, based on isotropic eddy viscosity theory. Different valve plug displacement models were built to describe the double throttling process. Our analysis shows that the steam pressure drops twice and the degree of superheat increases. There are also lots of eddies which clog the flow channel and disturb the steam flow in the valve cavity after the valve plug and the outlet cavity. After modifying the structure, the numerical results show a better performance of steam flow.展开更多
