Research on the Construction and Quality Improvement of Art Curriculum in Rural Primary Schools

Curriculum quality is the foundation of education development and the core element of primary education and teaching.It is a key indicator to measure and evaluate the level of educational development in a country and region.Curriculum quality needs to be examined not only from the perspective of the degree of achievement of the preset curriculum goals,but also from the perspective of students’subjective feelings and experiences.Art course is the core service provided by the school for students,and the quality of the course is judged by the acquisition and development of students.At the same time,the value of aesthetic education also calls for the reform and improvement of the fine arts curriculum,which requires the fine arts curriculum in all stages in rural areas to get closer and change in this direction.After the promulgation of art curriculum standards,the fine arts curriculum of rural primary schools should follow high quality standards,which is a process of optimization and iteration of various elements of primary art curriculum.The fine arts curriculum of rural primary schools needs to meet the exploration needs of current students,effectively and appropriately develop excellent local resources while enriching the curriculum content,introduce the essence of regional culture and art,improve the evaluation of curriculum quality,and form a scientific curriculum management system,so as to promote the sustainable development of students.According to this understanding,we can improve the quality of art curriculum in rural primary schools from four dimensions:curriculum objectives,curriculum content,curriculum implementation,and curriculum evaluation.

Application of Multiple Evaluation in Art Classroom Teaching in Rural Primary Schools

With the reform and development of China's primary school art education,the art teaching activities have obtained constant improvement,and the multiple evaluation of art teaching plays an important role in the process of art teaching.Based on the current situation of the evaluation of art classroom teaching in rural primary schools,this article uses diversified evaluation methods,multi-dimensional evaluation subjects and multiple evaluation contents to change the traditional and single primary art classroom evaluation method,to strive to improve the quality of art classroom teaching and stimulate students'learning interests and adapt to the development needs of students with different personalities.

Prevalence and Factors Associated with Iron Deficiency Anemia among School-Age Children in Primary Schools in Burao City, Somaliland, 2020

Background: Anemia is a global public health problem affecting the majority of the population of the world in both developed and developing countries with major consequences on human health as well as social and economic development. It is the world’s second leading cause of disability of the whole global disease burden. It affects 1.62 billion (24.8%) of the population, among them, it is affecting 305 million (25.4%) school-age children (SAC). Objectives: The main objective of this study was to assess the prevalence and factors associated with anemia among school-age children in primary schools in Burao city, Somaliland, 2020. Materials & Methods: A school-based cross-sectional study design was done in four primary schools in Burao, Somaliland. About 285 school-age children in the age group between 6 - 14 years were selected with a respondent rate of 93.4%. Random sampling was used to select schools and systemic random sampling was used to identify children from the selected schools. Socio-demographic data was collected by using a questionnaire & interviews of respondents in addition to anthropometric measurements, hemoglobin measurement, and stool examination. Complete Blood Counting (CBC) was used to determine the mean corpuscular (kor-PUS-kyu-lar) volume (MCV) and hematocrit (HMC) levels to detect hemoglobin status of the children. Data was entered and analyzed using SPSS statistical software for Windows version 21. Anthropometric data was analyzed using ANTHRO Plus. Bivariate logistic regression and multivariable logistic regression were used to identify independent predictors of anemia in school adolescent girls. Statistical significance was set at p < 0.05. Results: A total of 285 school-age children were included in this study. The overall prevalence of anemia was (23.1%) (CI: 18.1%, 28.1%) with the mean and standard deviation of (12.7 ± 1.59). Out of the anemic children, 20.4% were mild and 2.3% and 0.4% of them were moderate and severe, respectively. Children’s from illiterate mothers (AOR = 2.37;95% CI: 1.14, 4.94. P-value = 0.020), consuming organ meat less than once a week (AOR = 2.19;95% CI: 1.05, 4.43. P-value = 0.036) and having parasites in stool (AOR = 5.21;95% CI: 1.10, 24.6. P-value = 0.037) were identified as statistically independent associated factors with prevalence of anemia in school-age children’s from Burao, Somaliland. Conclusion: Prevalence of anemia in Burao city, Somaliland primary schools was a moderate public health problem in the current study area. Nutrition education, iron folic acid supplementation program, deworming, good hygiene, and sanitation are playing an important role in the prevalence of anemia and we recommend to give them more attention from ministry of education and ministry of health in Somaliland.

The Design Strategy of High-Density Primary Schools in Shenzhen

The construction of high-density primary schools in Shenzhen is facing new challenges.Therefore,it is essential to look for ways to meet the demand for degrees,realize education and teaching reform,eliminate the shackles of design code,and adapt to the local climate.From the perspective of design methodology,this article discusses the design strategy of Shenzhen’s high-density primary school campus from four aspects:compact layout,multiple functions,open space,and personalized design,aiming to provide ideas for the construction of primary school campuses.

On the Impropriety of General Provision of English Courses in China's Primary Schools

Despite some pros for providing English courses in China’s primary schools, some factors should be acknowledged: pu-pils of young ages are less efficient in commanding the overall communicative skills than their older counterparts;teachers in manyprimary schools are not sufficiently competent as expected and are liable to build inadequate models that degrade children’s lan-guage learning;there exists some misunderstanding about critical period hypothesis in which it is believed that language acquisi-tion can only be successful during people’s younger age. The general provision of English courses in China’s primary schools maynot be as necessary and efficient as is generally advocated for the current state of affairs.

Construction and Research of Formative Evaluation System in Fine Arts Classroom Teaching in Rural Primary Schools

With the popularization of quality education,the teaching evaluation of fine arts class in rural primary schools has become an important part of the new curriculum reform,which tests whether the teaching goals are effectively achieved.This paper takes the formative evaluation system of fine arts classroom teaching in rural primary schools as the research object,analyzes the research status of the formative evaluation system in rural primary schools,and expounds the theoretical basis and construction principles of the formative evaluation system.This paper constructs a formative evaluation system of fine arts classroom teaching in rural primary schools from the aspects of teachers and students inside and outside the classroom,teaching process and teaching effect,in order to effectively stimulate students'interest in learning and improve their aesthetic literacy.

A Current Study of English Teaching in Primary Schools of Lincang City,Yunnan Province--Taking Mangling Primary School as an Example

With the implementation of the new curriculum reform and the development of the society,the Ministry of Education hasbecome increasingly demanding for primary school students’English learning.However,there are many problems in the teachingof English in many primary schools of Lincang city,Yunnan province.In view of this,on the basis of the second author of the the-sis,Li Junxin’s practical experience in a local school there,Mangling primary school,this paper analyze the current situation anddifficulties of English teaching in Lincang primary schools.Based on the analysis of the faculty,students’learning abilities,teach-ing materials and curriculums’setting of English teaching in Mangling primary school,this paper points out the reasons for theproblems in primary English teaching of Lincang city,and puts forward some improvement measures for primary school Englishteaching.

Commuting Space of Primary and Secondary Schools in the Context of Child Friendly Cities:A Case Study of Bajiao Street of Shijingshan District

With the continuous promotion of the construction of child friendly cities,the school commuting space is an important component of the construction of child friendly roads.Based on the background of child friendly cities,the commuting space of 11 primary and secondary schools in Bajiao Street is analyzed through literature analysis and field research methods.Firstly,the relevant literature on school commuting space is sorted out,and the characteristics of school commuting space are summarized,including transportation,landscape,culture,leisure,and security.Secondly,the characteristics of commuting space of primary and secondary schools in Bajiao Street are analyzed from three aspects:in front of the school gate,path space,and node space.This paper aims to provide reference and guidance for the future construction of children’s walking school commuting and promote the construction of a child friendly city.

The Current Situation,Problems,and Improvement Path of Rule of Law Education in Primary and Secondary Schools in Chaoshan Area

Rule of law education in primary and secondary schools is an educational process to popularize legal knowledge,establish legal awareness,and cultivate the ability to respect,abide by,and use the law for the special group of primary and secondary school students.The research found that rule of law education in primary and secondary schools in Chaoshan has yielded positive outcomes.However,there exist problems such as uneven synergy,incomplete inclusion of teachers and students,shortage of adequately trained professional teachers,and the need for enhanced organizational support.The relevance and effectiveness of rule of law education in primary and secondary schools will be enhanced by clarifying the target tasks,enhancing the effectiveness of the classroom,creating an atmosphere of the rule of law,and strengthening organizational support.

Artificial Intelligence Education in Primary and Secondary Schools from the Perspective of Thinking Quality

With the vigorous development of social economy in China,various advanced technologies and equipment have emerged,among which artificial intelligence(AI)has rapidly developed and achieved remarkable results when applied to many fields.Therefore,leaders and teachers in primary and secondary schools should pay more attention to AI education and explore effective measures to optimize the effectiveness of this education.Among them,carrying out artificial intelligence education and teaching from the perspective of thinking quality,with an aim to improve students’technical ability and effectively cultivate their thinking skills,may improve students’learning efficiency and teachers’teaching efficiency.How to carry out AI education from the perspective of thinking quality is an important issue that teachers need to address urgently.Through in-depth research,we focus on this issue,in hope to benefit primary and secondary school teachers.

Changing Mode of Regulation:Role Models in Moral Education Textbooks for Primary Schools in China,1999-2005

The use of role models for learning and publicity is widespread in China.By comparing four sets of primary school textbooks complied and published by People’s Education Press between 1999 and 2005,this study reveals the similarities and differences between these textbooks with regard to the positive role models covered and the virtues conveyed.The major role models in both versions of the textbooks can be characterized as representing four main types of persons:children,Han Chinese,males,and modern people.However,the occupations of these role models are more diverse in the new textbooks,and the more recent editions place more emphasis on moral values such as“protecting the environment,”“loving peace,”and“promoting democratic cooperation.”The implications of the findings and the potential problems arising in the textbooks are discussed at the end,particularly noting the changing mode of regulation with regard to the individual-collective relationship.

Global Alliance against Chronic Respiratory Diseases demonstration project:aerosol pollution and its seasonal peculiarities in primary schools of Vilnius

Background:The growing public health concern caused by non-communicable diseases in urban surroundings cannot be solved by health care alone;therefore a multidisciplinary approach is mandatory.This study aimed to evaluate the airborne aerosol pollution level in primary schools as possible factor influencing origin and course of the diseases in children.Methods:Seasonal aerosol particle number concentration(PNC)and mass concentration(PMC)were studied in the randomly selected eleven primary schools in the Lithuanian capital,Vilnius,as model of a middle-size Eastern European city.Total PNC in the size range from 0.01 to>1.0μm in diameter was measured using a condensation particle counter.Using an optical particle sizer,PNC was measured and PMC estimated for particles from 0.3 to 10.0μm.A descriptive statistics was used to estimate the aerosol pollution levels.Results:During all seasons,local cafeterias in the absence of ventilation were the main sources of the elevated levels of indoor PMC and PNC(up to 97,500 particles/cm3).The other sources of airborne particulates were the children’s activity during the lesson breaks with PMC up to 586μg/m3.Soft furniture,carpets in the classrooms and corridors were responsible for PMC up to 200μg/m3.Outdoor aerosol pollution(up to 18,170 particles/cm3)was higher for schools in city center.Elevated air pollution in classrooms also resulted from intermittent sources,such as construction work during classes(200-1000μg/m3)and petrol-powered lawn trimmers(up to 66,400 particles/cm3).Conclusion:The results of our survey show that even in a relatively low polluted region of Eastern Europe there are big differences in aerosol pollution within middle-sized city.Additional efforts are needed to improve air quality in schools:more frequent wet cleaning,monitoring the operation of ventilation systems,a ban on construction works during school year,on a use of sandblasting mechanisms in the neighborhood of schools.

Leadership of Class Teachers(Banzhuren)in Improving Student Learning:Case Studies of Chinese Primary Schools

As a form of teacher leadership,class teacher(banzhuren)leadership has not received sufficient attention in academia.In order to delineate the paths and practices of the class teacher in exercising leadership for improving student learning,this study applies the multiple case studies approach along with in-depth interviews so as to understand this phenomenon thoroughly.The findings suggest that moral management,routine management,collaboration with subject teachers and parents,facilitation of collaboration among students and other leadership strategies can effectively contribute to student learning in these schools.The theoretical and practical implication of this study is also discussed to facilitate research in this regard.

Fulfilling Set Objectives:A Case Study of Teacher Development in Two Primary Schools in Beijing

Purpose:This study aims to reveal the recent characteristics of school-based teacher development(STD)in China since it is perceived as a key measure to achieve success in raising educational quality in the country.Design/Approach/Methods:A qualitative research approach with in-depth interviews of 18 teachers at two primary schools in Beijing was used.Findings:Through the lens of cultural-historical activity theory(CHAT),it was observed that the objectives adaptation of teacher communities was made under the control of the District Education Bureau.STD provides the venue for ordinary teachers to learn,understand,and implement the teaching initiatives promoted by the district.Teacher communities at school level therefore implement continuous professional development initiatives promoted by Education Bureau teaching research officers.Originality/Value:This article argues that the administrative style of local government affected teacher community’s object,rules,and division of labor.It also contributes an indigenous interpretation of the CHAT theory.
