This article is an introduction of three epitaphs which are significant in the study of ‘Damingong’ Palace in the Tang Dynasty.The first one is the obituary of the Emperor Tang Minghuang’s prince,Li Cong.The ‘shiw...This article is an introduction of three epitaphs which are significant in the study of ‘Damingong’ Palace in the Tang Dynasty.The first one is the obituary of the Emperor Tang Minghuang’s prince,Li Cong.The ‘shiwang yuan’(ten-kings yard) mentioned in this epitaph indicates that this building should have been one part of ‘Daminggong’ Palace.The second epitaph is about a woman who came from Cui family and mentioned that her father,Cui Lvsu,was once be responsible of the safeguard affairs of ‘Daminggong’ Palace.As Cui Lvsu was only a fifth-rank official during his time,however,he should not be qualified to occupy this position in according with the official requirement in the Central Court.Thus,the author proposes a hypothesis that Cui Lvsu was appointed to be in charge of the safeguard of capital in a hurry when the emperor escaped due to chaotic situations.The third epitaph,which is about Minister Li Zong Ming’s wife,mentioned a place called ‘Xuanzheng qiandian’(the front compartment of ‘Xuanzheng’ Hall).But other materials demonstrate that ‘Xuanzheng’ Hall did not divide into front and back two parts and the ‘xuanzheng qiandian’ only means ‘Xuanzheng’Hall.展开更多
