Adaptive Optimal Discrete-Time Output-Feedback Using an Internal Model Principle and Adaptive Dynamic Programming

In order to address the output feedback issue for linear discrete-time systems, this work suggests a brand-new adaptive dynamic programming(ADP) technique based on the internal model principle(IMP). The proposed method, termed as IMP-ADP, does not require complete state feedback-merely the measurement of input and output data. More specifically, based on the IMP, the output control problem can first be converted into a stabilization problem. We then design an observer to reproduce the full state of the system by measuring the inputs and outputs. Moreover, this technique includes both a policy iteration algorithm and a value iteration algorithm to determine the optimal feedback gain without using a dynamic system model. It is important that with this concept one does not need to solve the regulator equation. Finally, this control method was tested on an inverter system of grid-connected LCLs to demonstrate that the proposed method provides the desired performance in terms of both tracking and disturbance rejection. 展开更多

Using Chien's method, a pair of generalized variational principles (GVPs) are established, which directly leads to all four Maxwell's equations, two intensity-potential equations, two constitutive equations, and eight boundary conditions. A family of constrained variational principles is derived sequentially. As additional verifications, two degenerated forms are obtained, equivalent to two known variational principles. Extensions of Merton’s model(EMM)considering the firm’s payments and generating new types of firm value distribution are suggested.In the open log-value/time space,these distributions evolve from initially normal to negatively skewed ones,and their means are concave-down functions of time.When payments are set to zero or proportional to the firm value,EMM turns into the Geometric Brownian model(GBM).We show that risk-neutral probabilities(RNPs)and the no-arbitraging principle(NAP)follow from GBM.When firm’s payments are considered,RNPs and NAP hold for the entire market for short times only,but for long-term investments,RNPs and NAP just temporarily hold for individual stocks as far as mean year returns of the firms issuing those stocks remain constant,and fail when the mean year returns decline.The developed method is applied to firm valuation to derive continuous-time equations for the firm present value and project NPV. 展开更多

As applications, we derive an existence theorem of weakly efficient solution for set-valued vector equilibrium problems without the assumption of convexity of the constraint set and the assumptions of convexity and monotonicity of the set-valued mapping. From Eigenvalues to Singular Values: A Review

The current review brings together several examples of this analogy. One example regards the similarity between Symmetric Rayleigh Quotients and Rectangular Rayleigh Quotients. Many useful properties of eigenvalues stem are from the Courant-Fischer minimax theorem, from Weyl’s theorem, and their corollaries. Another aspect regards “rectangular” versions of these theorems. Comparing the properties of Rayleigh Quotient matrices with those of Orthogonal Quotient matrices illuminates the subject in a new light. The Orthogonal Quotients Equality is a recent result that converts Eckart-Young’s minimum norm problem into an equivalent maximum norm problem. This exposes a surprising link between the Eckart-Young theorem and Ky Fan’s maximum principle. We see that the two theorems reflect two sides of the same coin: there exists a more general maximum principle from which both theorems are easily derived. Ky Fan has used his extremum principle (on traces of matrices) to derive analog results on determinants of positive definite Rayleigh Quotients matrices. The new extremum principle extends these results to Rectangular Quotients matrices. Bringing all these topics under one roof provides new insight into the fascinating relations between eigenvalues and singular values. 展开更多

According to the basic idea of classical yin-yang complementarity and modern dual-complementarity, in a simple and unified way proposed by Luo(1987), some uncon ventional Hamilton-type variational principles for dynamics of Reissner sandwich plate can be established systematically. The unconventional Hamilton-type variation principle can fully characterize the initial boundary value problem of this dynamics. In this paper, an important integral relation is given, which can be considered as the generalized principle of virtual work in mechanics. Based on this relation, it is possible not only to obtain the principle of virtual work in dynamics of Reissner sandwich plate, but also to derive systematically the complementary functionals for fivefield, two-field and one-field unconventional Hamilton-type variational principles by the generalized Legender transformations. Furthermore, with this approach, the intrinsic relationship among the various principles can be explained clearly. 展开更多

It informs that there are original principles apprising what is commonly referred to as Batho Pele principles. The original principles are principles about Batho Pele principles. Batho Pele principles are not Bantu principles due to the historical and derogatory orientation of the phrase "Bantu". They are people orientated principles. The analytical axis is premised on that Batho Pele principles are more about the people than about themselves. The people are not only first in relation with the principles but are the first to be first before the principles were documented. The principles are developed by the people in order to regularize the actions of the public functionaries. The Batho Pele principles and the original principles do not exist in isolation. They are deeply rooted in the societal value systems of the people that existed from one generation to the other to the subsequent, emphasizing the centrality of people in relation to principles. According to the basic idea of classical yin-yang complementarity and modem dual-complementarity, in a simple and unified new way proposed by Luo, the unconventional Hamilton-type variational principles for geometrically nonlinear elastodynamics of orthogonal cable-net structures are established systematically, which can fully characterize the initial-boundary-value problem of this kind of dynamics. An ifnportant integral relation is made, which can be considered as the generalized principle of virtual work for geometrically nonlinear dynamics of orthogonal cable-net structures in mechanics. Based on such relationship, it is possible not only to obtain the principle of virtual work for geometrically nonlinear dynamics of orthogonal cable-net structures, but also to derive systematically the complementary functionals for five-field, four-field, three-field and two-field unconventional Hamilton-type variational principles, and the functional for the unconventional Hamilton-type variational principle in phase space and the potential energy functional for one-field unconventional Hamilton-type variational principle for geometrically nonlinear elastodynamics of orthogonal cable-net structures by the generalized Legendre transformation given in this paper, Furthermore, the intrinsic relationship among various principles can be explained clearly with this approach. 展开更多

Formally Inferring Galileo Galilei Principle of Relativity of Motion in an Axiomatic System “Sigma+V” from a Triple of Nontrivial Assumptions

The present paper submits a result of applying a hitherto unknown logically formalized axiomatic axiology-and-epistemology theory “Sigma+V” to the relativity principle formulated by Galileo Galilei. By this application, the author has continued checking the remarkable (paradigm-breaking) hypothesis that formal-axiological interpreting strictly universal laws of classical theoretical mechanics could have a heuristic value for the theory proper. Along with systematical studying proper algebraic structure of formal axiology of nature, the axiomatic (hypothetic-deductive) method is used in this research as well. The investigation accomplishments are the followings. Galileo Galilei principle of relativity of motion has been represented in a two-valued algebraic system of formal axiology by a wonderful formal-axiological equation which could be called a “formal-axiological analog of Galileo relativity principle”. A precise definition of that algebraic system is given. The remarkable formal-axiological equation has been created (and checked) in that algebraic system by attentive computing relevant compositions of evaluation-functions. Precise definitions of the relevant evaluation-functions are accomplished by tables. The remarkable formula modeling Galileo Galilei principle of relativity of motion (given the appropriate interpretation of the formal theory) has been formally-logically inferred within Sigma+V from a couple of nontrivial assumptions, namely, 1) a precisely defined assumption of a-priori-ness of knowledge, 2) the above-mentioned formal-axiological analog of the relativity principle by Galileo Galilei. A not-manifest but quite exact axiomatic definition of “a-priori-ness of knowledge” is provided. The formal-logical inference is performed in perfect accordance with the mathematical rigor norms formulated within the formalism doctrine by D. Hilbert, therefore, examining the formal deductive inference submitted in the paper can be accomplished easily. Being a nontrivial scientific novelty for proper theoretical physics, hitherto the formal-logical derivation has not been published and discussed elsewhere. 展开更多

针对柏拉图–伽马风险模型的尾在险价值度量的贝叶斯估计量的渐近行为进行研究有助于对风险度量进行统计推断,以便于风险投资者及时采取相应措施规避风险。首先,通过构造柏拉图–伽马模型的贝叶斯假设,给出了尾在险价值度量的贝叶斯估计... 针对柏拉图–伽马风险模型的尾在险价值度量的贝叶斯估计量的渐近行为进行研究有助于对风险度量进行统计推断,以便于风险投资者及时采取相应措施规避风险。首先,通过构造柏拉图–伽马模型的贝叶斯假设,给出了尾在险价值度量的贝叶斯估计量,并利用经典的大偏差和中偏差理论,以及Delta方法得到了尾在险价值度量的贝叶斯估计量的渐近行为,包括渐近正态性、大偏差原理和中偏差原理;其次,给出了尾在险价值度量的贝叶斯估计量的中偏差原理在统计假设检验方面的具体应用,得到了第一类错误和势函数的渐近行为;最后,通过数值模拟的方法,计算并模拟了尾在险价值的置信区间及其区间覆盖率,并在不同样本容量下画出了尾在险价值度量的贝叶斯估计量标准化后的直方图和核密度估计曲线,这与标准正态分布密度函数曲线基本重合,从而验证了估计量的渐近正态性,同时还模拟了尾在险价值度量的贝叶斯估计量相关的尾概率,模拟结果表明样本容量充分大时,尾概率以一定的速度趋近于零,由此验证了估计量的中偏差原理。 展开更多
