These novel topics include brain imaging of intestinal functions, placebo responses in gastroenterology, learning of gastrointestinal symptoms, quality of life in patients with intestinal complaints, and psychotherapy and familial aggregation of functional intestinal disorders. Currently, these new topics appear with a frequency of 1% to 3% in leading gastroenterological journals, either as data presentation or review papers. Increasing focus underlines the importance of enhandng our understanding on how the psyche and the brain communicate in order to better meet the needs of our patients.展开更多

This is the part of the brain already present in the embryo and consists of the brainstem, hypothalamus, thalamus, and midbrain. It is also the part of the brain that operates during dreaming and deep sleep and causes the transition from sleeping to waking states, and the Upanishads state unequivocally that the self is responsible for these mental states. With the self located in the embryo brain region, an entirely new interpretation of Aristotle's De Anima is presented which parallels the Upanishads in every respect; the inner self and Aristotle's "soul" have identical functions and attributes. An Aristotelian First Principle is presented: Biology is the source of Consciousness; DNA is the source of Biology; Ergo DNA is the source of Consciousness.展开更多

The article deals with external remote-field manifestation of the subjective state of a person. There are statistically significant results obtained which demonstrate contactless remote influence of the subjective state of a person on erythrocyte sedimentation rate in different blood groups, Rh-positive and Rh-negative blood, and under different conditions of exposure. The authors set up a hypothesis of the existence of molecular structures in the blood, which can provide a remote response to expressed subjective state of a person.展开更多

Emotional stress is primarily formed in the mental activity of the brain in the form of pronounced long-term negative emotions and is secondarily manifested in neurophysiological mechanisms and somatovegetative processes. However, all studies of the development of emotional stress are focused on the study of central neurophysiological mechanisms, excluding the possibility of analysis for the “sources” of emotional stress, which is primarily formed in the subjective sphere of brain activity, i.e., in the mechanisms of emotions. In our studies, we propose a fundamentally new methodology for studying the mental activity of the human brain and, in particular, the mechanisms of emotions. Thereby, modern methods of psychophysiology make it possible to come closer to understanding the nature of emotional stress.展开更多

文摘This paper presents an original interpretation of the Upanishads that the inner self is located in the embryo brain region of the brain.
