Effect of psychological nursing interventions on effectiveness and quality of life in schizophrenia patients receiving modified electroconvulsive therapy

BACKGROUND Schizophrenia is a common and severe mental disorder characterized by severe thought disturbances,hallucinations,delusions,and emotional instability.For some patients,conventional treatment methods may not effectively alleviate symptoms,necessitating the use of alternative therapeutic approaches.Modified electroconvulsive therapy(MECT)is an effective treatment modality for schizophrenia,inducing anti-depressive and antipsychotic effects through the stimulation of brain electrical activity.AIM To explore the impact of psychological nursing intervention(PNI)before and after MECT on the efficacy and quality of life of patients with schizophrenia.METHODS Eighty patients with schizophrenia who received MECT treatment from 2021 to 2023 were randomly divided into two groups:The intervention group(n=40)and the control group(n=40).The intervention group received PNI before and after MECT,while the control group received routine nursing care.The efficacy of MECT was evaluated by the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale(PANSS)and the Clinical Global Impression Scale(CGI)before and after the treatment.The quality of life was assessed by the Short Form 36 Health Survey(SF-36)after the treatment.RESUITS The intervention group had significantly lower scores of PANSS and CGI than the control group after the treatment(P<0.05).The intervention group also had significantly higher scores of SF-36 than the control group in all domains except physical functioning(P<0.05).CONCLUSION PNI before and after MECT can improve the efficacy and quality of life of patients with schizophrenia.It is suggested that nurses should provide individualized and comprehensive psychological care for patients undergoing MECT to enhance their recovery and well-being.

Analysis of the Effect of Psychological Nursing Combined with Breathing Exercises in Improving Lung Function in Patients with Pneumoconiosis

Objective: To analyze the effect of psychological nursing combined with breathing exercises on lung function of patients with pneumoconiosis, and to analyze the methods. A total of 64 cases of pneumoconiosis admitted from January 2020 to December 2022 were divided into the reference group and the experimental group by random numerical table. On the basis of symptomatic treatment, the control group was combined with conventional nursing measures and breathing exercises, while the experimental group was treated with psychological nursing on the basis of the control group, and the pulmonary function indexes and adverse mood of the two groups before and after nursing were compared. Results: There was no difference in SAS score, SDS score and pulmonary function indexes between the two groups before intervention (P > 0.05), and the SAS score in the experimental group was the SDS score was lower than that of the control group, and FEV1, FEV1% and FEV1/FVC were higher than those of the control group, and the P < 0.05 was lower.

Psychological Nursing Combined with Biofeedback to Promote the Rehabilitation of Patients with Anxiety Disorders

Objective:To explore the effect of psychological nursing combined with biofeedback on the rehabilitation of patients with anxiety disorders.Methods:100 patients with anxiety disorders in our hospital from January to December 2021 were randomly divided into two groups:control group(n=50)and study group(n=50).The control group was given routine nursing,while the study group was given psychological nursing combined with biofeedback.The changes of self-rating anxiety scale(SAS)score,self-rating depression scale(SDS)score,symptom score,and quality of life of the two groups were compared before and after nursing.Results:Before nursing,there was no significant difference in the scores of SAS and SDS between the two groups,but after nursing,the scores of SAS and SDS in the study group were lower than those in the control group,and the degree of improvement in the study group was higher than that of the control group.Before nursing,there was no significant difference in the scores of symptoms between the two groups(P>0.05),but after nursing,the scores of stress,crying spells,tremor,and general discomfort in the study group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).Besides,before nursing,there was no significant difference in the quality of life between the two groups(P>0.05),but after nursing,the scores of physical function,psychological activity,social ability,and material life in the study group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Moreover,the degree of improvement after nursing in the study group was better than that of the control group.Conclusion:Psychological nursing combined with biofeedback to promote the rehabilitation of patients with anxiety disorders effectively improves the negative emotion of patients,reduces stress,depression,tremor,and general discomfort,and improve the overall quality of life.Therefore,it is worth further popularization.

Analysis of the Significance of Key Points of Patient Interventional Psychological Care and Pain Care

Interventional therapy has become increasingly popular in clinical practice due to advancements in medical technology.However,patients often experience psychological and physiological pressure due to its invasive nature.The management of patient discomfort and tension is crucial to ensure effective treatment.Psychological and pain management are essential components of interventional therapy,as they significantly impact patient recovery and prognosis.This article discussed the importance of interventional psychological and pain care for patients,starting with the development and spread of interventional therapy.The significance of providing high-quality nursing services to patients and improving their quality of life was also discussed.

Intervention effect of encouraging mental and programmed nursing of patients in interventional operating room on their compliance and bad moods

BACKGROUND Patients’lack of correct understanding of cardiovascular disease and interventional therapy is often accompanied by varying degrees of fear,depression and anxiety.Negative emotion will affect the hemodynamic fluctuation of patients undergoing interventional surgery,which is not conducive to the smooth and safe operation of interventional surgery.Therefore,it is very important to implement effective nursing intervention in the operating room.AIM To explore the intervention effect of motivational psychological nursing combined with programmed nursing on compliance and bad mood of patients in interventional operating room.METHODS A total of 98 patients in the interventional operating room of our hospital from October 2019 to March 2021 were randomly divided into study group(n=49)and control group(n=49).The control group took routine nursing.However,the study group took motivational psychological nursing combined with procedural nursing on the basis of the control group.Statistics were made on rehabilitation compliance,Positive and Negative Affect Schedule of bad mood,Simplified Coping Styles Questionnaire score of coping style and satisfaction of intervention between the two groups before and after intervention.RESULTS The rehabilitation compliance of the study group(95.92%)was higher than that of the control group(81.63%)(P<0.05).After intervention,the scores of upset,fear,irritability,tension and fear in the study group were respectively,which were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).After intervention,the score of positive coping in the study group was higher than that in the control group.However,the score of negative coping in the study group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).The intervention satisfaction of the study group(93.88%)was higher than that of the control group(79.59%)(P<0.05).CONCLUSION The intervention of motivational psychological nursing combined with procedural nursing can improve the rehabilitation compliance,and alleviate the bad mood.In addition,it can change their coping style to the disease,and the patients are more satisfied with the nursing work.

Application of ERAS Concept and Psychological Guidance in Nursing of Patients with Laparoscopic Urology

Objective: To explore the application and effect of the enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) concept combined with psychological stress intervention in laparoscopic urological surgery nursing. Methods: 100 cases of urological surgical patients according to the nursing way, each 50 cases were divided into observation group and control group, and control group routine nursing, and the observation group implement rapid rehabilitation surgery concept in combination with psychological nursing, the comparison of two groups of patients with stress index, immune function, mental health, postoperative recovery index and the effect of complications. Results: There were statistically significant differences in stress index, immune function, mental health level, postoperative recovery index and complications between the observation group and the control group after psychological nursing (P Conclusion: The concept of rapid rehabilitation surgery combined with psychological nursing can help relieve psychological stress, restore immune function, reduce psychological pressure drop, speed up rehabilitation and reduce the incidence of postoperative complications in patients undergoing laparoscopic urologic surgery. Psychological nursing plays an adjunct role in laparoscopic urological surgery, so it is worth promoting.

The Effects of Humanized Psychological Nursing Model in General Surgery Nursing

Objective:To analyze and comprehensively study the clinical effects of humanized psychological nursing model in general surgery nursing.Methods:The study period was from January 2018 to December 2020.A sample of 200 patients who were admitted to The Second People's Hospital of Taizhou City for general surgery were selected.Random lottery grouping was used to divide the subjects into a study group and a control group.The sample within each group was n=100.The patients in the control group were provided with conventional general surgery nursing plan whereas the patients in the study group received the same nursing plan but with addition of the humanized psychological nursing model.The indicators of the two groups were compared and analyzed.Results:Comparing the scores from Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale(HAMA)and Hamilton Depression Rating Scale(HAMD)after nursing intervention,postoperative visual analog scale(VAS),hospital stay,and patient satisfaction with the nursing services between the two groups,the study group was better(P<0.05).Conclusion:The implementation of humanized psychological nursing model in general surgery nursing had a significant effect in which there were improvements in regard to the patientsJ mental state and their satisfaction with the nursing services.Hence,it is worthy of promotion.

Efficacy of “Acceptance and Commitment Therapy” Psychological Nursing in a Stroke Patient

Objective: To summarize 1 case of ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, as “ACT”) psychological nursing clinical experience. Method: ACT Application for psychological nursing, provides detailed program guidance for psychological care. Results: Sleep quality, psychological flexibility and self-management ability of the patient have been improved. Conclusion: It’s the first time to apply ACT to the psychological nursing for a stroke patient, which has achieved good results;it provides a detailed clinical experience as guidance for the development of psychological nursing;it also provides a clinical basis for the follow-up exploration of psychological nursing technology model.

Evaluation on application effect of psychological nursing intervention on patients with traumatic endophthalmitis

Background:To explore the application effect of psychological nursing intervention in patients with traumatic endophthalmitis.Methods:A total of 90 patients with traumatic endophthalmitis admitted to our hospital from August 2018 to April 2019 were selected as study objects and randomly divided into observation group and control group,with 45 cases in each group.The control group received routine nursing care,and the observation group performed psychological nursing intervention on the basis of the control group.The scores of self-rating anxiety scale(SAS)and self-rating depression scale(SDS)and nursing satisfaction degree were compared before and after nursing treatment in two groups.Results:The scores of SAS and SDS of the observation group were better than those of the control group.The score of the nursing satisfaction degree of the observation group was higher than that of the control group,showing statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusions:Psychological nursing intervention can improve the physical and mental condition of patients with traumatic endophthalmitis,reduce their negative emotions such as anxiety and depression,and improve the satisfaction of nursing.It is worthy of clinical promotion.

Effect of Psychological Nursing on the Mental State and Quality of Life of Patients After Heart Valve Replacement for Rheumatic Heart Disease

Objective:To explore the effect of psychological nursing on the mental state and quality of life of patients after heart valve replacement for rheumatic heart disease.Methods:Seventy-four patients with rheumatic heart disease that underwent heart valve replacement in Zhenjiang First People's Hospital from January 2017 to May 2020 were selected as the research subjects.Thirty-seven patients that were treated from January 2017 to September 2018 were included in the control group.Routine care was provided for the patients in the control group.From October 2018 to May 2020,the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery improved their preoperative and postoperative psychological care.Thirty-seven patients that were treated during this period were included in the research group.The research group received psychological nursing care in addition to routine care.The efiects of different nursing modes on the quality of life and postoperative mental state of the patients were determined.Results:The scores for depression,anxiety,somatization,and compulsion in the research group were significantly lower than those in the control group(p<0.05);the scores for the quality of life of patients in the research group were significantly higher than those in the control group(p<0.05).Conclusions:Strengthening psychological nursing for patients with rheumatic heart disease is helpful to improve their quality of life and mental state after heart valve replacement.

The author nursed suspected and confirmed cases of COVID-19 imported from abroad in a mobile hospital.During the front-line work in the fight against the epidemic in 2020,emergency response measures and corresponding clinical nursing experience have been accumulated for public health emergencies.This article summarized and shared the psychological nursing of patients with COVID-19 during the work of the author.

Effects of psychological nursing in Parkinson's related depression patients undergoing functional magnetic resonance imaging:A randomized controlled trial

BACKGROUND Patients with Parkinson’s disease(PD)often experience depression,and some may require magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)for diagnosis,which can lead to MRI failure due to claustrophobia.AIM To explore the value of psychological interventions in successfully completing functional MRI scans of the brain for PD-related depression.METHODS Ninety-six patients with PD were randomly divided into two groups.The control group(47 patients)received general care,and the experimental group(49 patients)received general care combined with psychological care.The Unified Parkinson's Disease Assessment Scale(UPDRS),Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD),and Geriatric Depression Scale(GDS)-15 scores,heart rate,systolic blood pressure,and MRI-Anxiety Questionnaire(MRI-AQ)scores before and after the scan were recorded.The completion rate of magnetic resonance(MR)scanning,scanning duration,and image quality scores were recorded.RESULTS Before scanning,no statistically significant difference was observed between the two groups in terms of heart rate,systolic blood pressure,and UPDRS,HAMD,GDS-15,and MRI-AQ scores.After scanning,systolic blood pressure,MRI-AQ score,and scan time in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group,whereas the scan completion rate and image quality score were significantly higher than those in the control group.CONCLUSION Psychological nursing interventions are helpful in alleviating PD-related depression and assessing MR depression scores and may be helpful in the successful completion of functional MRI scans of the patient's brain.

Risk Factors and Precautions of Inpatient Suicide from the Perspective of Nurses:A Qualitative Study

The risk factors and precautions of inpatient suicide were explored. Thirty suicide victims were drawn from the adverse event reports of suicidal act during hospitalization in a general hospital from 2008 to 2014. Data were gathered from the focus group interviews of twelve nurses who had experienced inpatient suicide. The data were analyzed by using analytical technique based on grounded theory, and software QSR NVIVO8 was used to aid the collation of data. Three main themes of risk factors about inpatient suicide emerged from the analysis： individual value, social factors and environmental factors. The individual value was categorized into different groups such as sense of guilt, hopelessness and low self-esteem. Social factors included two aspects of negative life events and social support. Three themes of precautions about inpatient suicide appeared in this study： evaluation, nursing and information exchange. Evaluation was elaborated from both physical and psychological assessments. This finding extends existing work of risk factors and precautions about inpatient suicide and brings new knowledge about the reasons why inpatients commit suicide.

Psychological Study of a Patient with COVID-19 at the Early Stage of the Epidemic

Coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) caused by novel coronavirus 2019 (2019-nCoV) has led to 199,466,211 confirmed cases, including 4,244,541 deaths by 6:44 pm CEST. This epidemic is now on the period of global outbreak, the control of COVID-19 has severely challenged the world. At the beginning of the outbreak, patients infected or suspected were observed and close contacts were isolated. The country delayed the resumption of work and school and all walks of life are seriously affected. All kinds of true and false information and rumours on the internet exist, aggravating people’s anxiety and restlessness. These factors altogether often induce people to feel various negative emotions and psychological problems. In this paper, a patient with COVID-19 was examined through psychological dynamic observation at the beginning of the epidemic. It was found that in the early stage of the epidemic, due to the lack of clear treatment guidelines, the main treatment methods and psychological problems were the main reasons affecting the recovery of patients. Many uncertain factors, including individual and social factors and quarantine, worry about the prognosis, etc, resulting in anxiety, fear, unacceptance, insomnia, irritability and other pessimistic moods. After 16 days of symptomatic treatment, psychological counselling and adjustments in a timely manner, the patient eventually recovered and was discharged. The discussion of this case could serve as a reference for the treatment and rehabilitation of patients with COVID-19 in other countries and regions.

Effect of Psychological Intervention on Emotion of Patients with Tumor Radiotherapy

Objective:To explore the emotional impact of psychological nursing intervention on patients with malignant tumor radiotherapy,and further verify the specific application value of this nursing model in the oncology department.Methods:A total of 129 patients with tumor radiotherapy admitted to our hospital from June 2018 to June 2021 were selected as subjects,and they were divided into control group and observation group by random number method.Among them,64 cases in the control group received routine clinical nursing.65 cases in the observation group received psychological nursing intervention.Then,the clinical nursing effect,self-rating anxiety scale(SAS)score,self-rating depression scale(SDS)score,immune function level change condition and clinical nursing satisfaction were compared under the two nursing modes,in order to fully verify the clinical application value of psychological nursing intervention mode for patients with cancer radiotherapy.Results:Comparing the clinical indexes of the two groups,SDS and SAS scores of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group.In terms of nursing satisfaction,the observation group is 96.92%and the control group is 90.62%,the difference was significant,and had clinical statistical significance(P<0.05);After the comprehensive evaluation of the immune function of the two groups,it was found that the observation group was significantly better than the control group,and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:In the mode of psychological nursing,medical staff can carry out precise psychological nursing intervention and nutritional nursing for patients according to the specific conditions and treatment process of patients,which can greatly promote the psychological stability of patients,significantly reduce patients5 negative emotions.In addition,the scientific implementation of psychological nursing intervention in the treatment of tumor radiotherapy patients can effectively strengthen the improvement of the immune function of patients,which has a very important application value to improve the physical function of patients,promotes the patienfs body rehabilitation,and is worth in the field of widespread application.
