It remains unclear whether TL shortening is a direct factor in both individual and cellular aging. Therefore, we examined the direct relationship between TL and cellular senescence at the cellular level. Methods: Telomerase activity, TL, and gene expression were measured in cultured human lung-, fetal-, and skin-derived fibroblasts, human skin keratinocytes, and telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) gene-immortalized cells using detection kits, Cawthon’s method, and reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction, respectively. Novel substances that elongate telomeres were screened to confirm cell rejuvenation effects. Results: Long-term cell culture of TIG-1-20 normal human fibroblasts resulted in TL shortening, decreased division rate, and senescence progression, whereas in OUMS-36T-2 cells, TL elongation via TERT gene transfer increased the division rate, reduced endoplasmic reticulum stress, and upregulated genes associated with young individuals, indicating that cellular rejuvenation occurs via TL elongation. In addition, a honey child powder (HCP) extract was found through screening, and the HCP extract strongly suppressed the menin gene, resulting in increased telomerase activity and extended cell lifespan. Upon addition of the HCP extract to skin fibroblasts, gene expression of moisturizing components, including collagen, hyaluronic acid, and elastin, increased, and exhibited a rejuvenating effect with an increase in elastin amount. Conclusions: TL elongation or shortening is involved in cell proliferation rate and cellular aging, and TL elongation rejuvenates cells. In addition, HCP extract has a rejuvenating effect on cells and is expected to be a rejuvenating compound.展开更多

Although botulinum toxin type A (BoNTA) has been shown to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and allow patients to have a smoother and hence younger upper face, it cannot help to improve the other aspects that determine overall skin quality. Objective: This case series aims to evaluate the clinical efficacy of combining BoNTA injections with a biorevitalizing treatment (NCTF®135HA) on skin aging signs and quality using a split face approach. Patients and Methods: A total of eight patients from 30 to 55 years old were treated with botulinum toxin type A combined with NCTF®-135HA or alone. Results: At D60, clinical skin quality scoring showed that NCTF®135HA injection significantly reduced wrinkles and enhanced skin homogeneity, hydration, firmness, and radiance. The Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale (GAIS) by the evaluator at D60 reported mean scores of 2375 (much improved) on the side of the face treated with BoNTA + NCTF®-135HA compared to the side of the face without NCTF®135HA. According to patients, the NCTF®135HA injections resulted in a significantly better aesthetic improvement score on D60 (mean score of 2.5 compared to 0.125 without NCTF®135HA, p 0.001). Conclusions: Our findings show that combining a biorevitalizing treatment with a BoNTA injection can significantly improve the skin’s overall appearance and decrease the wrinkle score when compared to the BoNTA injections alone. The results suggest that the combinatory strategy is effective, safe, and associated with a high level of patient satisfaction.展开更多

Metallic glasses obtained by different cooling rates can be rejuvenated into the glassy state with almost the same potential energy by compressive deformation. The aging effect in different metallic glasses in cooling process can be completely erased by the deformation-induced rejuvenation. The evolution of cavities has been analyzed to understand the structural evolution in rejuvenation. It is found that as metallic glasses are rejuvenated by mechanical deformation, a lot of cavities are created. The lower the potential energy is, the more the cavities are created. The cavities are mainly created in the regions without cavities or with small cavities populated, indicating that the irreversible rearrangements induced by deformation are accompanied by the creation of cavity. This finding elucidates the underlying structural basis for rejuvenation and aging in metallic glasses from the cavity perspective.展开更多

Recent advances in aging research have demonstrated that old tissue stem cells can be rejuvenated for the purpose of maintaining the old-organ function by youthful re-calibration of the environment where stem cells reside. Biochemical cues regulating tissue stem cell function include molecular signaling pathways that interact between stem cells themselves and their niches. Historically, plasma fractions have been shown to contain factors capable of controlling age phenotypes; subsequently, signaling pathways involved in the aging process have been identified. Consequently, modulation of signaling pathways such as Notch/Delta, Wnt, transforming growth factor-β, JAK/STAT, mammalian target of rapamycin and p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase has demonstrated potential to rejuvenate stem cell function leading to organismic rejuvenation. Several synthetic agents and natural sources, such as phytochemicals and flavonoids, have been proposed to rejuvenate old stem cells by targeting these pathways. However, several concerns still remain to achieve effective organismic rejuvenation in clinical settings, such as possible carcinogenic actions; thus, further research is still required.展开更多

The availability and maintenance cost functions are obtained by means of establishing the application server aging model and the boundary condition of the optimal rejuvenation time is analyzed. Theory analysis indicates that the two-level rejuvenation strategy is superior to the traditional single level one. Finally, evaluation experiments are carried out and numerical result shows that compared with the traditional rejuvenation policy, the rejuvenation strategy proposed in this paper can further increase availability of the application server and reduce maintenance cost.展开更多

Histological study demonstrated deep ablation and collagen restructuring in the papillary and reticular dermis. The Fractora device combines the more “cone shaped” ablation seen with CO2 and Erbium lasers with a deep non-ablative heating pattern, seen with other bipolar RF fractional needle resurfacing devices. Ablation, coagulation zones and healing dynamics are analyzed for different energy settings. Two different treatment protocols are suggested: one for light skin and then one for darker skin with a higher risk of post-inflammatory hypperpigmentation. Treatment results show improvement in skin texture, pores, wrinkles and skin dyschromia.展开更多

Methods: This double blind clinical trial was performed on women with vaginal relaxation at Asali Hospital in Khorramabad from May to October 2012 and was candidate for colporrhaphy due to different types of pelvic organ prolapse. Sampling method was done on nonprobability basis according to the number of patients referred to clinic. Using blocked random allocation method, the participants were divided into 4 groups of 30 patients (three intervention group and one control group) who were age-matched. Then, an extract of Oak Gall in specified concentrations (10 - 15 and 20 grams in 1.5%, 2% and 2.5% jells) were administered to each intervention group. Finally, the obtained data were analyzed with Chi-square, Pearson, Fisher’s exact test and ANOVA using SPSS software version 19. Results: A total of 120 patients entered into the study with mean age of 36 ± 5.4 years. The evaluation of mean scores showed that sense of sexual satisfaction and orgasm, sense of vaginal tightness during intercourse, sense of vaginal lubrication and loss of vaginal dryness was significantly improved in patients in intervention group. Also other parameters including urinary incontinence, sense of vaginal mass exit, lack of orgasm, sense of air outflow during intercourse, sense of calmness after sex and loss of libido were significantly reduced in the group of patients who received jell 2.5% compared to other groups (P Conclusion: Our findings show that using topical jell of Oak Gall not only is associated with contracting effects, but also improves vaginal lubrication and reduces its dryness. Regarding the lack of previous studies in this field and considering some limitations of this study, we suggest that Oak Gall to be used for management of women with vaginal relaxation.展开更多

文摘Aiming at the characteristic of the dependency between the application components and the application server platform, a rejuvenation strategy with two different levels of rejuvenation granularities is put forward in this paper including the application component reiuvenation and the application server system rejuvenation. The availability and maintenance cost functions are obtained by means of establishing the application server aging model and the boundary condition of the optimal rejuvenation time is analyzed. Theory analysis indicates that the two-level rejuvenation strategy is superior to the traditional single level one. Finally, evaluation experiments are carried out and numerical result shows that compared with the traditional rejuvenation policy, the rejuvenation strategy proposed in this paper can further increase availability of the application server and reduce maintenance cost.
文摘This paper reports the clinical experience of a multi-center, multiple physician trial with a novel fractional radiofrequency ablative skin resurfacing and rejuvenation device (Fractora, Invasix, Israel) deployed on both Caucasian skin types I - III and Asian skin type IV. Treatment results show improvement in skin texture, pores, wrinkles and skin dyschromia.
文摘Background and Objectives: The Quercus (oak) fruit and especially the internal layer of the fruit (jaft) is rich in tannin (polyphenolic compound) and due to its astringent effects on the smooth muscles, we decided to evaluate this effect of extract of Oak Gall for vaginal tightening and rejuvenation in women with vaginal relaxation. Regarding the lack of previous studies in this field and considering some limitations of this study, we suggest that Oak Gall to be used for management of women with vaginal relaxation.
文摘A high peak power IPL system (Lumecca) was tested to determine the correlation between a high peak power and the successful treatment of pigmented and vascular lesions. Short pulse duration in the millisecond range and high peak power of 3.3 kW/cm2 enabled selective and effective destruction, not only of pigment, but also of vessels in a comparable manner to a pulsed dye laser. Only one treatment session at a low fluence (8 - 16 J/cm2) was sufficient to achieve the desired results.
