This article aimed to build up a typology of public road accidents (public road accidents) and risk factors associated with in the provincial city of Kinshasa and its peripheral cities (Kasangulu and Mongata), to identify the profiles of the vehicles and people involved in these public road accidents. Method: We conducted a prospective eco-analytical study on a stratified random sample whose size was determined by the Fischer formula. Results: Overall, from March to May 2017, we witnessed an incidence of public road accidents cases ranging from 139 public road accidents cases in the city province of Kinshasa and its two peripheral areas: road axes of high concentration: Rte Blvd Lumumba-Airport;Rte Poids Lourd-Pont Matete, the axes of medium concentration: Rte N21-IMBU, Rte Blvd 30 juin-socimat;Rte Matadi-Kasangulu toll;Rte Université-Intendance, Rte By Pass-triangle Maman Mobutu-Kintambo (Rte-Matadi)-Toll/lère virage-Triangle Maman Mobutu and those of low concentration were: Rte du tourisme/Mimoza-Mbudi;Rte Matadi-Terrain Siwabanza. Conclusion: In these areas, public road accidents are a real public health problem that deserves sustained attention from all and especially from decision makers. Interventions must concern the HVE accident complex.展开更多

At the same time, due to the protection of historical and cultural sites, the road network system is mostly based on the planning and design of the previous road network system. Although the planning of the contemporary road network system is quite unique, it has not been considered to the contemporary transporting needs of the citizens of Macao. At the same time, the complexity of the road network makes zonings unobvious functional and mixes urban functions in the region. Therefore, through field surveys, the relevant data of the Macao Transport Bureau (DSAT) is combined to find out the current problems of the road traffic on the Macao Peninsula and analyze the strategy of optimizing the “public transport priority” public transportation prove system. At Last, regarding the citizen as the core and find out the relationship between passengers and the public transportation system to explore the future development direction of the road traffic planning and design of the Macao Peninsula will become the main direction of this study. </div>展开更多
This paper highlights the increasing problem of road traffic accident (RTA) related morbidity and mortality in Ghana, and the public health measures needed to control the problem. Descriptive data in the public domain...This paper highlights the increasing problem of road traffic accident (RTA) related morbidity and mortality in Ghana, and the public health measures needed to control the problem. Descriptive data in the public domain from statutory bodies and media houses reports on country RTA information, as well as academic papers on the problem, were used as source of information about the problem. The observed trend in Ghana indicates that RTA related fatalities and injuries continue to be increasing, as morbidity and mortality factors since the year 2000. Most of the remedial measures suggested in academic papers, and state agencies measures to curb the RTA trend in Ghana to date, have discussed the problem in terms of injury and safety issues/measures. This paper suggests that the increasing RTAs with associated morbidity and mortality in Ghana need to be looked at more as a public health problem and priority that requires prompt tackling using a public health problem orientated approach and measures, than just as a safety problem due to RTAs’, as is currently done.展开更多

This paper firstly describes the Japanese institutional system of public participation in infrastructure planning; then it focuses on the institutionalization of participatory road planning procedure and road planning framework. Taking Yokohama Northwest Line for an example, it explains the planning procedure and public participation techniques in detail and analyzes the special advanced characteristics of the procedure. Finally, it suggests that China could learn the following experience from Japan: the institutionalization of participatory planning procedure, detailed division of road planning stages, setup of third-party organization, full publicity of information, and adoption of public suggestion, and implementation of multiple involvement techniques.展开更多
As a global public good, the Belt and Road Initiative proposed by the Chinese government features being "non-rivalrous" and "non-excludable," which are two essential characteristics of public goods...As a global public good, the Belt and Road Initiative proposed by the Chinese government features being "non-rivalrous" and "non-excludable," which are two essential characteristics of public goods. From design philosophy to operational framework, from vision to action, distinct Chinese characteristics, style and temperament are fully demonstrated by this initiative. In theory, the Belt and Road Initiative promotes multiple innovations in global governance and enriches and develops international cooperation and the global value chain. The "Silk Road spirit" inherits and innovates the core philosophy of China's diplomacy since 1949; more importantly, its principle of achieving shared growth through discussion and collaboration is a key contribution to global governance theory. In practice, the Belt and Road Initiative highlights both regional cooperation and international agreement, and initiates a new model for China's diplomatic practice and international cooperation. Therefore, it is of exemplary value in terms of development, peace, culture and cooperation, while offering a new solution to dealing with international relations in the era of Reform and Opening-up. The past three years has generated marked achievements. The Belt and Road construction is at a critical stage of transition from quantitative change to qualitative change, from small achievements to significant success. In the future, China should take the initiative to promote the construction of two principal axes, further integrate with the philosophy underpinning China's diplomacy as a major country, innovate the theoretical system of the Belt and Road Initiative and forge a corresponding security system. As the old Chinese saying goes, "Big countries should treat small countries with kindness and justice, while small countries should treat big countries with wisdom." China should properly address the competition and cooperation with countries along the Belt and Road and further advance institutional construction within the framework of its major country diplomacy.展开更多
