Pure motor stroke(PMS), also known as pure motor hemiparesis, is the most common of any lacunar form(between one half and two thirds of cases, depending on the series). In an acute stroke registry, 733 patients presented a lacunar infarct and PMS accounted for 12.7%(n = 342) of all first-ever stroke patients and for 48% of all lacunar syndromes.
