A CLASS OF INVERSE QUOTIENT CURVATURE FLOW IN THE ADS-SCHWARZSCHILD MANIFOLD

In this paper,we study the asymptotic behavior of a class of inverse quotient curvature flow in the anti-de Sitter-Schwarzschild manifold.We prove that under suitable convex conditions for the initial hypersurface,one can get the long-time existence for the inverse curvature flow.Moreover,we also get that the principal curvatures of the evolving hypersurface converge to 1 when t→+∞.

Brain metabolic profile assessed by magnetic resonance spectroscopy in children with Down syndrome:Relation to intelligence quotient

BACKGROUND Down syndrome(DS)is one of the most common causes of intellectual disability.Children with DS have varying intelligence quotient(IQ)that can predict their learning abilities.AIM To assess the brain metabolic profiles of children with DS and compare them to standard controls,using magnetic resonance spectroscopy(MRS)and correlating the results with IQ.METHODS This case-control study included 40 children with DS aged 6-15 years and 40 age and sex-matched healthy children as controls.MRS was used to evaluate ratios of choline/creatine(Cho/Cr),N-acetyl aspartic acid/creatine(NAA/Cr),and myoinositol/creatine(MI/Cr(in the frontal,temporal,and occipital lobes and basal ganglia and compared to controls and correlated with IQ.RESULTS Children with DS showed significant reductions in NAA/Cr and MI/Cr and a non-significant reduction in Cho/Cr in frontal lobes compared to controls.Additionally,we observed significant decreases in NAA/Cr,MI/Cr,and Cho/Cr in the temporal and occipital lobes and basal ganglia in children with DS compared to controls.Furthermore,there was a significant correlation between IQ and metabolic ratios in the brains of children with DS.CONCLUSION Brain metabolic profile could be a good predictor of IQ in children with DS.

Diophantine Quotients and Remainders with Applications to Fermat and Pythagorean Equations

Diophantine equations have always fascinated mathematicians about existence, finitude, and the calculation of possible solutions. Among these equations, one of them will be the object of our research. This is the Pythagoras’- Fermat’s equation defined as follows. (1) when , it is well known that this equation has an infinity of solutions but has none (non-trivial) when . We also know that the last result, named Fermat-Wiles theorem (or FLT) was obtained at great expense and its understanding remains out of reach even for a good fringe of professional mathematicians. The aim of this research is to set up new simple but effective tools in the treatment of Diophantine equations and that of Pythagoras-Fermat. The tools put forward in this research are the properties of the quotients and the Diophantine remainders which we define as follows. On the Structure of the Augmentation Quotient Group for Some Non-abelian p-groups

In this paper, we study the basis of augmentation ideals and the quotient groups of finite non-abelian p-group which has a cyclic subgroup of index p, where p is an odd prime, and k is greater than or equal to 3. The local quotient image method-an iuumination preproassing method for face recogaition

Differences in illumination of the same face can defeat simple face recognition systems,yet most methods that compensate are too difficult to implement. Local quotient image (LQI) is an efficient illumination preprocessing method for face recognition systems. An illumination model and a face model were developed,and their use in the new method was analyzed. Analysis of the method's computational complexity showed it to be efficient. Experimental results on Yale Face Database B showed that the method can effectively eliminate the effects of differences in illumination and provides considerable improvement in recognition rates.

Autism-Spectrum Quotient Is Associated with Observational Skill Acquisition in Healthy Young Adults

Although observational motor learning is one method of skill acquisition, this type of motor learning is not equally effective for all individuals. To clarify factors associated with the effectiveness of motor learning, we examined the association between model-observational skill acquisition and the Autism-Spectrum Quotient (AQ), which is reportedly associated with motor learning via visual information. Twenty healthy adults performed the Kendama task. The participants practiced under three conditions: using their own methods (self), following observation of model actions (model-observation), and following observation of their own actions (self-observation). Measurement trials were performed 20 times prior to self-practice sessions and after each practice session. Success ratios were calculated for each measurement trial. All participants completed the AQ. The difference in success ratios for measurement sessions following practices between the self and model-observation conditions was significantly negatively correlated with AQ scores. Individuals with low AQ values can more easily acquire skills via model-observational motor learning than those with relatively higher AQ values.

Several rough set models in quotient space

In order to deal with coarse-grained and multi-grained calculation problems,as well as granularity transformation problems in information system,quotient space theory is introduced in rough set theory.The main idea of this research is to try to maintain the important properties of the original space into the quotient space.Aimed to preserve the micro properties and the macro properties,two pairs of approximation operators on the quotient space are defined.When it comes to the composite of quotient spaces,the idea of these operators shows greater advantages.Examples are cited to illustrate possible applications of these operators,and their matrix representations are also given to make the calculations easy.Finally,all approximation operators on the quotient space involved so far are compared and their relationships are shown through a diagram.

On the Reversal Effects of the Velocity Quotient on the Directions of Changes of Finishing Results of Conventional and Flexible Grinding

The paper presents the problem of right direction of changes of the velocity quotient in view of getting advantageous smoothing results of material finishing using a compact elastic wheel. In fact the problem has been considered reversely in comparison with the change direction of the velocity quotient on the grounds of knowledge on grinding using ceramic wheels. The specifics of performance of the elastic wheels are considered. The investigation was carried out on the effect of their peripheral velocity on the directions of smoothing. The problem is considered by presenting it on the background of determined results of grinding using a ceramic wheel. The dependence of a determined roughness measure of the smoothed surface on the velocity quotient is delivered. The forms of a function approximating experimental dependences of the subject roughness measure on the mentioned quotient have been derived. Furthermore, the results coming out of the performed experimental studies have been presented.

Ecological civilization health quotient index and its empirical analysis

The ecological civilization health quotient index is put forward combined with the "health quotient" concept to evaluate the health state of ecological civilization. This paper has constructed the index system of ecological civilization health quotient and quantitatively got each index proportion of the system with application of analytic hierarchy process(AHP). The value of ecological civilization health quotient index is calculated with the fuzzy analysis method. The health state of ecological civilization is judged by the positive and negative ecological civilization health quotient index. This paper has selected the data from 2009 to 2013 to calculate the whole health status of ecological civilization of our country. The conclusion is that our country had transformed from the unhealthy status(ecological civilization health quotient index is-0.133) into the sub-health state(ecological civilization health quotient index is 0.191, but its internal rule layers are negative) during the fi ve years. We should construct the ecological civilization mainly from two aspects of resource conservation and ecological behavior civilization in the future to build a beautiful China.
