Lack of sleep is one of the factors contributing to the worsening of overall negative symptoms of autistic children. From the Islamic perspective, sleep is a necessity and could function as a treatment for health problems, in addition to influencing behavior patterns. Sound therapy has been used in dealing with various health problems, including sleep problems and mental ill health. Possibly, it can also address sleep problems of the autistic children. Listening to the melodious Qur’anic recitation is known to have therapeutic effects even on individuals who do not understand the meaning of the verses being read;it could function as sound therapy. However, no established work has been done to study the effect of Qur’anic verses recitation on autistic children and their sleep problems. Similar to the use of music therapy, Qur’anic recitation is also expected to have a positive impact on speech, learning and interpersonal relationship. As a healing medium, Qur’anic therapy is also expected to have a better result as compared to other conventional sound therapy since its content could be psychotherapeutic.展开更多

Also the role that capital is expected to play in the economy is different in two economic systems. One of the key elements in creation of the capital (capital formation) is interest rate. In Islam interest is strictly forbidden. This paper reviews the concept of capital and the process of capital formation both before and after industrial revelation. In that context it also looks at the function of interest rate during the time of Prophet Mohammed and the present time.展开更多

While there are a number of Qur'anic verses that speak of humanity's creation and mission, the one that speaks most clearly of the telos of that creation is Al-Dhariyat 56, which reads, "I have not created jinn and mankind except to serve me." A summary examination of some of the prominent Qur'anic commentators and their interpretation of the verse give insight into the understanding of the telos of humanity's creation according to the Qur'an. The examination of the commentaries reveals certain recurring themes. Through the revelation of the Qur'an, one is able to know humanity's place and mission in the created world and thereby act accordingly.展开更多

In this paper I endeavour to explain that human form is disintegrated part of that divine desire. The tendency or desire to grow and expand in the individuals is the force behind every activity of the world. Consciousness packed in the city of human body is a pack of desires. The clouds of strong desires well up from within and surround individuals to push them forward to action, will and determination. One has to distinguish between the crazy desires of mind for temporary pleasures and desires for permanent bliss.展开更多

They were Igun Olorun, Ahmad Qifu and Uthman Baasunu who respectively became the first three Imams in the city. For the spread of the faith, these Mallams and their indigenous disciples adopted education and preaching methods. For education, they established Qur'anic schools in almost all quarters and villages where people were taught Arabic language to enable them perform the ritual worship. These schools were later upgraded to Madaris where standard Arabic education and culture are taught up till the present. As for preaching (da'wah), open air services were organized where fundamentals of Islam viz.: Tawhid, Salat, Sawm, Zakat and Hajj were taught. Other ones include good neighborliness, duties of parents to children and vice versa as dictated by the Islamic law (Shari'ah).展开更多
