An artificial neural network was applied to optimize the prepared condition of the composite film. Corrosion behavior of the NiP/TiO2 composite film was investigated by polarization resistance measurement, anode polarization, ESEM (environmental scanning electron microscopy) and EIS (electrochemical impedance spectroscopy) measurements. Results showed that the NiP/ TiO2 composite film has a good corrosion resistance in 0.5mol/L H2SO4 solution. The element valence of the composite film was characterized by XPS (X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy) spectrum, and an anticorrosion mechanism of the composite film was discussed.展开更多

The surface, cross-section morphology ...In order to improve the corrosion resistance and microhardness of AZ91D magnesium alloy, TiN nanoparticles were addedto fabricate Ni-P-TiN composite coating by electrodeposition. The surface, cross-section morphology and composition wereexamined using SEM, EDS and XRD, and the corrosion resistance was checked by electrochemical technology. The results indicatethat TiN nanoparticles were doped successfully in the Ni-P matrix after a series of complex pretreatments including activation, zincimmersion and pre-electroplating, which enhances the stability of magnesium alloy in electrolyte and the adhesion betweenmagnesium alloy and composite coating. The microhardness of the Ni-P coating increases dramatically by adding TiN nanoparticlesand subsequent heat treatment. The corrosion experimental results indicate that the corrosion resistance of Ni-P-TiN compositecoating is much higher than that of uncoated AZ91D magnesium alloy and similar with Ni-P coating in short immersion time.However, TiN nanoparticles play a significant role in long-term corrosion resistance of composite coatings.展开更多

The surface morphology and phase constituent of the ceramic layer were analyzed using scanning electron microscope and X-ray diffraction. The polarization curves of the composites before and after MAO treatment were measured and analyzed. The results showed that after Al2O3f/ZL109 composites were treated using MAO technique in silicate solution, the ceramic layer formed, and it was composed of Al, Si, and mullite phase. Al and Si came from Al alloy matrix of the composites, and the mullite phase formed in process of MAO. Al2O3 fiber in the composites affects the electric conductivity of the composites, the MAO reaction is promoted, and the cera- mic layer forming on the composite material side is slightly thicker than that on the Al alloy side. After Al2O3f/ZL109 composites were treated using MAO technique, the corro- sion resistance of the composites is significantly improved.展开更多

The ceramal composite coating has a rapidly solidified microstructure consisting of primary Cr7C3/γ- and the Cr7C3/γ-Fe eutectics, and is metallurgically bonded to the degree C steel substrate. The corrosion resistances of the coating in water solutions of 0.5 mol/L H2SO4 and 3.5% NaCl were evaluated utilizing the electrochemical polarization corrosion-test method. Because of the inherent excellent corrosion-resisting properties of the constituting phase and the rapidly solidified homogeneous microstructure, the plasma clad ceramal composite coating exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in the water solutions of 0.5 mol/L H2SO4 and 3.5% NaCl.展开更多

The effect of the coati...The surface of carbon fiber reinforced Mg matrix (Cf/Mg) composites was modified by treatment of rare earth conversion coating, and nontoxic, non-pollution Ce conversion coatings were prepared. The effect of the coatings on corrosion behaviors of composites was investigated by electrochemical polarization technology and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) in 3.5% NaCl solution. The higher Ecorr and lower icorr were obtained by Ce conversion coatings. EIS results showed that the higher values of R2 were obtained by treatment containing CeCl3, the high corrosion resistance occured in treatment containing CeCl3, the low corrosion resistance in uncoating sample, the coating of treatment containing Ce(NO3)3 was medium. The microstructure of Ce conversion coatings was observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and the elements of corresponding for coatings was characterized by energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS). The micro-cracks and Ce-riched spherical particles were characteristics of these coatings.展开更多
A new type of lightweight AlNiLa medium entropy amorphous alloy composite ribbons(labled as MEAAC ribbons)were prepared by vacuum arc melting technology and high-speed single roller meltspinning method.The microstruct...A new type of lightweight AlNiLa medium entropy amorphous alloy composite ribbons(labled as MEAAC ribbons)were prepared by vacuum arc melting technology and high-speed single roller meltspinning method.The microstructure and thermal stability of MEAAC ribbons were examined using X-ray diffraction,differential scanning calorimeter,and scanning electron microscope.Meanwhile,the hardness and surface roughness of these ribbons were measured by Vickers microhardness tester and atomic force microscope.The potentiodynamic polarization curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)were applied to investigate the corrosion behavior of these MEAAC ribbons in simulated seawater(3.5wt%NaCl corrosive solution)at room temperature.The results demonstrate that AlNiLa MEAAC ribbons in the as-received state are mainly composed of amorphous phase and intermetallic compounds.The hardness values of all melt-spun ribbons are above 310 HV_(0.1).With the increase of Al content,the linear polarization resistances of four various AlNiLa MEAAC ribbons are negligibly different numerically.It is also found that Al_(45)Ni_(27.5)La_(27.5) MEAAC ribbons have the most positive corrosion potential and the smallest corrosion current density at the same time;hence it may be a kind of potential material for metal surface protection in harsh ocean environment.展开更多
Ti-Ni composite sub-micron powders with different compositions were prepared by vacuum melting and atomization technology.These powders,after being mixed with a solution of phenolic resin and alcohol,were applied on t...Ti-Ni composite sub-micron powders with different compositions were prepared by vacuum melting and atomization technology.These powders,after being mixed with a solution of phenolic resin and alcohol,were applied on the mold cavity wall,by which a casting-infiltration layer was introduced on the surface of ZG45 steel via reactions between the powders and molten steel under the heat released by solidification.The effects of the powders’composition and pouring temperature on the corrosion resistance of the casting-infiltration layer were studied.An optimal casting-infiltration layer with a thickness of~7 mm was obtained by infiltrating the Ti-Ni composite powders containing 35wt.%Ti to ZG45 steel pouring at 1,650℃.The casting-infiltration layer has a good metallurgic bonding with the matrix,and is mainly composed of Fe_(2)Ti phase and continuousγ-(Fe,Ni)solid solution.In the corrosive H_(2)SO_(4) solution,the corrosion potential of the casting-infiltration layer is lower than the matrix,tending to form a passivation film,which lowers the dissolution rate especially when the potential rises to 0.50 V.After dipping in the 10wt.%NaCl solution for 480 h,a lot of corrosion holes appear in the ZG45 steel matrix,while there are no obvious traces of corrosion on the casting-infiltration layer.展开更多
Fe/Mo composite coatings were prepared by air plasma spraying (APS) using Fe-based and Mo-based amorphous and nanocrys- talline mixed powders. Microstructural studies show that the composite coatings present a layer...Fe/Mo composite coatings were prepared by air plasma spraying (APS) using Fe-based and Mo-based amorphous and nanocrys- talline mixed powders. Microstructural studies show that the composite coatings present a layered structure with low porosity due to adding the self-bonded Mo-based alloy. Corrosion behaviors of the composite coatings, the Fe-based coatings and the Mo-based coatings were in- vestigated by electrochemical measurements and salt spray tests. Electrochemical results show that the composite coatings exhibit a lower polarization current density and higher corrosion potentials than the Fe-based coating when tested in 3.5wt% NaC1 solutions, indicating supe- rior corrosion resistance compared with the Fe-based coating. Also with the increase in addition of the Mo-based alloy, a raised corrosion re- sistance, inferred by an increase in corrosion potential and a decrease in polarization current density, can be found. The results of salt spray tests again show that the corrosion resistance is enhanced by adding the Mo-based alloy, which helps to reduce the porosity of the composite coatings and enhance the stability of the passive films.展开更多

Mg alloys are considered the most promising engineering materials because of their unique properties.However,the uncontrolled corrosion rate of these alloys limits their applications.Therefore,in this study,a micro-ar...Mg alloys are considered the most promising engineering materials because of their unique properties.However,the uncontrolled corrosion rate of these alloys limits their applications.Therefore,in this study,a micro-arc oxidation layer was used as a transition layer to“directly”grow a zinc-based metal-organic framework(MOF)composite coating on the surface of a Mg alloy(AZ91D).Herein,the two zeolitic imidazolate framework(ZIF-8)coatings with different morphologies were separately prepared by homologous metal oxide induction and a one-step in-situ growth method.The superhydrophobic composite coating showed strong hydrophobicity and self-cleaning properties,which could prevent the penetration of water and corrosive ions(Cl^(−))into the surface of AZ91D.Electrochemical tests demonstrated that the super-hydrophobic composite coatings greatly enhanced the corrosion resistance of AZ91D,and the corrosion current density decreased from 10^(−5)to 10^(−9)A/cm^(2).These results indicate that the ZIF-8 coatings are beneficial for improving the hydrophobicity and enhancing the corrosion resistance of Mg alloys.Therefore,MOF composite coatings provide a new strategy that can be used to prepare multifunctional anticorrosion coatings on metal substrates.展开更多

The composite was tested for its wear resistance under the wet abrasive condition and corrosion resistance, compared with the wear-resistant white iron and stainless steel. The results show that the wear resistance of the composite is slightly inferior to that of the white iron, but much better than that of the stainless steel under the wet grinding abrasive condition. The corrosion resistance of the composite is much better than that of the white iron in the acid medium, and a little worse than that of the stainless steel. Thus the composite exhibits superior properties of wear resistance and corrosion resistance.展开更多

Its microstructure, phase composition, micro-hardness, corrosion resistance in 3.5% NaC1 solution and wear r...TiN-matrix composite coating was prepared on 45# steel by reactive high-velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) spraying. Its microstructure, phase composition, micro-hardness, corrosion resistance in 3.5% NaC1 solution and wear resistance were analyzed. The results suggest that the TiN-matrix composite coating is well bonded with the substrate. The micro-hardness measured decreases with the increase of applied test loads. And the micro-hardness of the coating under heavy loads is relatively high. The TiN-matrix composite coating exhibits an excellent corrosion resistance in 3.5% NaC1 solution. The corrosion potential of coating is positive and the passivation zone is broad, which indicates that the TiN-matrix composite coating is stable in the electrolyte and provides excellent protection to the substrate. The wear coefficient of the coating under all loads maintains at 0.49-0.50. The wear mechanism of the coating is revealed to be three-body abrasive wear. Yet the failure forms of TiN-matrix composite coating under different loads have an obvious difference. The failure form of coating under light loads is particle spallation due to the stress concentration while that of coating under heavy loads is crackin~ between inter-lamellae.展开更多
To achieve simultaneous improvement in wear resistance and corrosion resistance,we propose a novel strategy to successfully develop Mg matrix composites containing blocky primary Mg_(2)Si with small size instead of un...To achieve simultaneous improvement in wear resistance and corrosion resistance,we propose a novel strategy to successfully develop Mg matrix composites containing blocky primary Mg_(2)Si with small size instead of undesirable dendrite shape and large size.The tribological and corrosion behavior of Mg_(2)Si/AZ91 unmodified and modified with 2.0wt.%Sb was subsequently and systematically investigated.The results show that Sb addition can significantly modify the morphology of primary Mg_(2)Si to blocky polygon with smaller size of 12-25μm,but has less effect onα-Mg grain size.Compared with unmodified composite,Sb modified Mg_(2)Si/AZ91 composite has higher Brinell hardness and nearly unchanged microhardness of the matrix.Sb modified composite exhibits a 26%lower wear loss than unmodified composite suggesting the greatly improved wear resistance.Microstructure analyses indicate that the main wear mechanism of composites is dominated by abrasive wear,and Sb addition can decrease the width and depth of grooves,resulting in a weakened abrasive wear behavior.Additionally microcracks initiation on Sb modified Mg_(2)Si particles can be restricted during the sliding friction process because of higher toughness and blocky polygonal shape induced by Sb doping,which is responsible for the improved wear resistance.Interestingly,Sb modified Mg_(2)Si/AZ91composite also demonstrates a superior corrosion resistance than unmodified composite due to the decrease of calculated corrosion rate from1.57 mm/y to 0.74 mm/y,reduced by 52.8%.Such improvement is closely related to the reduced susceptibility to micro-galvanic corrosion,which is attributed to the reduced volta potential difference of Mg_(2)Si relative to the Mg matrix,from 365 mV to 210 mV.展开更多

On the contrary, the corrosion rate of the composite coating after heat treatment decreases with increasing HCl concentration. The corrosion rates of the composite coatings in as deposited state and after heat treatment in H 2SO 4 and H 3PO 4 solutions respectively decrease with the rise of H 2SO 4 and H 3PO 4 concentrations. The corrosion rate of the composite coating as deposited in FeCl 3 solutions decreases with increasing FeCl 3 concentration, while the rate of the composite coating after heat treatment increases with the rise of FeCl 3 concentration. The corrosion rate of 316L stainless steel in the corrosion media of H 2SO 4, HCl, H 3PO 4 and FeCl 3 solutions at different concentrations increases with rising concentration. In addition, the corrosion rate of 316L stainless steel in the corrosion media of H 2SO 4, HCl, H 3PO 4 and FeCl 3 solutions respectively is much greater than that of the RE Ni W P SiC composite coating as deposited and after heat treatment in the same corrosion media. Magnesium(Mg)alloys,the lightest metal construction material used in industry,play a vital role in future development.However,the poor corrosion resistance of Mg alloys in corrosion environments largely limits their p...Magnesium(Mg)alloys,the lightest metal construction material used in industry,play a vital role in future development.However,the poor corrosion resistance of Mg alloys in corrosion environments largely limits their potential wide applications.Therefore,a micro-arc oxidation/graphene oxide/stearic acid(MAO/GO/SA)superhydrophobic composite coating with superior corrosion resistance was fabricated on a Mg alloy AZ91D through micro-arc oxidation(MAO)technology,electrodeposition technique,and self-assembly technology.The composition and microstructure of the coating were characterized by scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction,energy dispersive spectroscopy,and Raman spectroscopy.The effective protection of the MAO/GO/SA composite coating applied to a substrate was evaluated using potentiodynamic polarization,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy tests,and salt spray tests.The results showed that the MAO/GO/SA composite coating with a petal spherical structure had the best superhydrophobicity,and it attained a contact angle of 159.53°±2°.The MAO/GO/SA composite coating exhibited high resistance to corrosion,according to electrochemical and salt spray tests.展开更多

The res...The effects of Ti content and the alloying elements of Si and Cu on the microstructures of casting in situ Al3Ti-Al composites were investigated. Simultaneously, their corrosion properties were also discussed. The results indicate that the aspect ratios of Al3Ti platelets in different Al based composites are different although all of them are in flaky shape. The morphologies of Al3Ti phase are not only determined by Ti content, but are also related to the alloying elements. The grain refining role of Al3Ti phase in the pure Al and Al-Cu based composites is more effective than that in the Al-Si based composite. The addition of Ti decreases the corrosion resistance of pure Al and Al alloys. The corrosion resistances of the composites are dependent on both the corrosion characteristics of the corresponding matrixes and the distribution of Al3Ti platelets.展开更多

Al and Si came from Al alloy matrix of the composites, and the mullite phase formed in process of MAO. Al2O3 fiber in the composites affects the electric conductivity of the composites, the MAO reaction is promoted, and the cera- mic layer forming on the composite material side is slightly thicker than that on the Al alloy side. After Al2O3f/ZL109 composites were treated using MAO technique, the corro- sion resistance of the composites is significantly improved.

文摘A new type in situ Cr7C3/γ-Fe ceramal composite coating was fabricated on substrate of hardened and tempered grade C steel by plasma cladding with Fe-Cr-C alloy powders. The ceramal composite coating has a rapidly solidified microstructure consisting of primary Cr7C3/γ- and the Cr7C3/γ-Fe eutectics, and is metallurgically bonded to the degree C steel substrate. The corrosion resistances of the coating in water solutions of 0.5 mol/L H2SO4 and 3.5% NaCl were evaluated utilizing the electrochemical polarization corrosion-test method. Because of the inherent excellent corrosion-resisting properties of the constituting phase and the rapidly solidified homogeneous microstructure, the plasma clad ceramal composite coating exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in the water solutions of 0.5 mol/L H2SO4 and 3.5% NaCl.
文摘The surface of carbon fiber reinforced Mg matrix (Cf/Mg) composites was modified by treatment of rare earth conversion coating, and nontoxic, non-pollution Ce conversion coatings were prepared. The effect of the coatings on corrosion behaviors of composites was investigated by electrochemical polarization technology and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) in 3.5% NaCl solution. The higher Ecorr and lower icorr were obtained by Ce conversion coatings. EIS results showed that the higher values of R2 were obtained by treatment containing CeCl3, the high corrosion resistance occured in treatment containing CeCl3, the low corrosion resistance in uncoating sample, the coating of treatment containing Ce(NO3)3 was medium. The microstructure of Ce conversion coatings was observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and the elements of corresponding for coatings was characterized by energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS). The micro-cracks and Ce-riched spherical particles were characteristics of these coatings.

文摘A new type of lightweight AlNiLa medium entropy amorphous alloy composite ribbons(labled as MEAAC ribbons)were prepared by vacuum arc melting technology and high-speed single roller meltspinning method.The microstructure and thermal stability of MEAAC ribbons were examined using X-ray diffraction,differential scanning calorimeter,and scanning electron microscope.Meanwhile,the hardness and surface roughness of these ribbons were measured by Vickers microhardness tester and atomic force microscope.The potentiodynamic polarization curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)were applied to investigate the corrosion behavior of these MEAAC ribbons in simulated seawater(3.5wt%NaCl corrosive solution)at room temperature.The results demonstrate that AlNiLa MEAAC ribbons in the as-received state are mainly composed of amorphous phase and intermetallic compounds.The hardness values of all melt-spun ribbons are above 310 HV_(0.1).With the increase of Al content,the linear polarization resistances of four various AlNiLa MEAAC ribbons are negligibly different numerically.It is also found that Al_(45)Ni_(27.5)La_(27.5) MEAAC ribbons have the most positive corrosion potential and the smallest corrosion current density at the same time;hence it may be a kind of potential material for metal surface protection in harsh ocean environment.

文摘Ti-Ni composite sub-micron powders with different compositions were prepared by vacuum melting and atomization technology.These powders,after being mixed with a solution of phenolic resin and alcohol,were applied on the mold cavity wall,by which a casting-infiltration layer was introduced on the surface of ZG45 steel via reactions between the powders and molten steel under the heat released by solidification.The effects of the powders’composition and pouring temperature on the corrosion resistance of the casting-infiltration layer were studied.An optimal casting-infiltration layer with a thickness of~7 mm was obtained by infiltrating the Ti-Ni composite powders containing 35wt.%Ti to ZG45 steel pouring at 1,650℃.The casting-infiltration layer has a good metallurgic bonding with the matrix,and is mainly composed of Fe_(2)Ti phase and continuousγ-(Fe,Ni)solid solution.In the corrosive H_(2)SO_(4) solution,the corrosion potential of the casting-infiltration layer is lower than the matrix,tending to form a passivation film,which lowers the dissolution rate especially when the potential rises to 0.50 V.After dipping in the 10wt.%NaCl solution for 480 h,a lot of corrosion holes appear in the ZG45 steel matrix,while there are no obvious traces of corrosion on the casting-infiltration layer.

文摘Fe/Mo composite coatings were prepared by air plasma spraying (APS) using Fe-based and Mo-based amorphous and nanocrys- talline mixed powders. Microstructural studies show that the composite coatings present a layered structure with low porosity due to adding the self-bonded Mo-based alloy. Corrosion behaviors of the composite coatings, the Fe-based coatings and the Mo-based coatings were in- vestigated by electrochemical measurements and salt spray tests. Electrochemical results show that the composite coatings exhibit a lower polarization current density and higher corrosion potentials than the Fe-based coating when tested in 3.5wt% NaC1 solutions, indicating supe- rior corrosion resistance compared with the Fe-based coating. Also with the increase in addition of the Mo-based alloy, a raised corrosion re- sistance, inferred by an increase in corrosion potential and a decrease in polarization current density, can be found. The results of salt spray tests again show that the corrosion resistance is enhanced by adding the Mo-based alloy, which helps to reduce the porosity of the composite coatings and enhance the stability of the passive films.

文摘NiP-SiC (≈1 1wt% P) composite coatings were electroplated in a Brenner type plating bath. The coatings had amorphous nano-phase composite structure. Direct current and alternating current electrochemical tests were carried out on such coatings in a 3.5wt% solution of NaCl to evaluate their corrosion resistance. The potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) tests, and exposure experiments all show that the corrosion resistance of NiP-SiC coatings first increases and then decreases when the SiC content increases, but the corrosion resistance of NiP-SiC composite coating is better than that of amorphous NiP coatings.

文摘Mg alloys are considered the most promising engineering materials because of their unique properties.However,the uncontrolled corrosion rate of these alloys limits their applications.Therefore,in this study,a micro-arc oxidation layer was used as a transition layer to“directly”grow a zinc-based metal-organic framework(MOF)composite coating on the surface of a Mg alloy(AZ91D).Herein,the two zeolitic imidazolate framework(ZIF-8)coatings with different morphologies were separately prepared by homologous metal oxide induction and a one-step in-situ growth method.The superhydrophobic composite coating showed strong hydrophobicity and self-cleaning properties,which could prevent the penetration of water and corrosive ions(Cl^(−))into the surface of AZ91D.Electrochemical tests demonstrated that the super-hydrophobic composite coatings greatly enhanced the corrosion resistance of AZ91D,and the corrosion current density decreased from 10^(−5)to 10^(−9)A/cm^(2).These results indicate that the ZIF-8 coatings are beneficial for improving the hydrophobicity and enhancing the corrosion resistance of Mg alloys.Therefore,MOF composite coatings provide a new strategy that can be used to prepare multifunctional anticorrosion coatings on metal substrates.

文摘Ni?Co3O4 composite coatings were electrodeposited on mild steel surface from a Watts-type bath in the presence of sodium lauryl sulfate(SLS).The dispersed Co3O4 particles in the presence of SLS have a greater tendency to move towards cathode and get incorporated in the coating.SLS modifies chemical composition,surface morphology and microstructure of the Ni?Co3O4 composite coating.The developed composite coating exhibits higher corrosion resistance and microhardness than the pure nickel coating.The loadings of bath solution with different concentrations of Co3O4 particles in the presence of SLS provide hydrophobic nature to the coating surface,which is much effective in enhancing the corrosion resistance of Ni?Co3O4 composite coating.The agglomeration of Co3O4 particles(>3 g/L)under high bath load condition develops defects and dislocation on the coating surface,which results in lower corrosion resistance of the deposit.The mechanical properties of the hydrophobic coatings were assessed by the linear abrasion test.
文摘The VC_p reinforced stainless steel composite was produced by in-situ reaction casting. The composite was tested for its wear resistance under the wet abrasive condition and corrosion resistance, compared with the wear-resistant white iron and stainless steel. The results show that the wear resistance of the composite is slightly inferior to that of the white iron, but much better than that of the stainless steel under the wet grinding abrasive condition. The corrosion resistance of the composite is much better than that of the white iron in the acid medium, and a little worse than that of the stainless steel. Thus the composite exhibits superior properties of wear resistance and corrosion resistance.

文摘TiN-matrix composite coating was prepared on 45# steel by reactive high-velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) spraying. Its microstructure, phase composition, micro-hardness, corrosion resistance in 3.5% NaC1 solution and wear resistance were analyzed. The results suggest that the TiN-matrix composite coating is well bonded with the substrate. The micro-hardness measured decreases with the increase of applied test loads. And the micro-hardness of the coating under heavy loads is relatively high. The TiN-matrix composite coating exhibits an excellent corrosion resistance in 3.5% NaC1 solution. The corrosion potential of coating is positive and the passivation zone is broad, which indicates that the TiN-matrix composite coating is stable in the electrolyte and provides excellent protection to the substrate. The wear coefficient of the coating under all loads maintains at 0.49-0.50. The wear mechanism of the coating is revealed to be three-body abrasive wear. Yet the failure forms of TiN-matrix composite coating under different loads have an obvious difference. The failure form of coating under light loads is particle spallation due to the stress concentration while that of coating under heavy loads is crackin~ between inter-lamellae.

文摘To achieve simultaneous improvement in wear resistance and corrosion resistance,we propose a novel strategy to successfully develop Mg matrix composites containing blocky primary Mg_(2)Si with small size instead of undesirable dendrite shape and large size.The tribological and corrosion behavior of Mg_(2)Si/AZ91 unmodified and modified with 2.0wt.%Sb was subsequently and systematically investigated.The results show that Sb addition can significantly modify the morphology of primary Mg_(2)Si to blocky polygon with smaller size of 12-25μm,but has less effect onα-Mg grain size.Compared with unmodified composite,Sb modified Mg_(2)Si/AZ91 composite has higher Brinell hardness and nearly unchanged microhardness of the matrix.Sb modified composite exhibits a 26%lower wear loss than unmodified composite suggesting the greatly improved wear resistance.Microstructure analyses indicate that the main wear mechanism of composites is dominated by abrasive wear,and Sb addition can decrease the width and depth of grooves,resulting in a weakened abrasive wear behavior.Additionally microcracks initiation on Sb modified Mg_(2)Si particles can be restricted during the sliding friction process because of higher toughness and blocky polygonal shape induced by Sb doping,which is responsible for the improved wear resistance.Interestingly,Sb modified Mg_(2)Si/AZ91composite also demonstrates a superior corrosion resistance than unmodified composite due to the decrease of calculated corrosion rate from1.57 mm/y to 0.74 mm/y,reduced by 52.8%.Such improvement is closely related to the reduced susceptibility to micro-galvanic corrosion,which is attributed to the reduced volta potential difference of Mg_(2)Si relative to the Mg matrix,from 365 mV to 210 mV.
文摘Immersion experiment results show that corrosion rate of the as deposited RE Ni W P SiC composite coating in HCl solutions increases with the rise of HCl concentration. On the contrary, the corrosion rate of the composite coating after heat treatment decreases with increasing HCl concentration. The corrosion rates of the composite coatings in as deposited state and after heat treatment in H 2SO 4 and H 3PO 4 solutions respectively decrease with the rise of H 2SO 4 and H 3PO 4 concentrations. The corrosion rate of the composite coating as deposited in FeCl 3 solutions decreases with increasing FeCl 3 concentration, while the rate of the composite coating after heat treatment increases with the rise of FeCl 3 concentration. The corrosion rate of 316L stainless steel in the corrosion media of H 2SO 4, HCl, H 3PO 4 and FeCl 3 solutions at different concentrations increases with rising concentration. In addition, the corrosion rate of 316L stainless steel in the corrosion media of H 2SO 4, HCl, H 3PO 4 and FeCl 3 solutions respectively is much greater than that of the RE Ni W P SiC composite coating as deposited and after heat treatment in the same corrosion media. 文摘The combined microarc oxidation (MAO) and inorganic sealing process was used to deposit a composite coating to improve the corrosion resistance of AZ31 magnesium alloy.The surface morphologies of the resulting duplex coatings were studied by SEM.Furthermore,the corrosion resistance of the coated Mg alloy substrates was investigated using electrochemical workstation and dropping corrosion test.The results show that the composite coating surface consists of Mg,Si,O and Na.It is difficult to deposit inorganic coating on a thick MAO coating surface.As the composite coating was solidified by CO2 under 175 °C,it exhibits a better corrosion resistance than the MAO monolayer,owing to the thick and compact inorganic coating.

文摘Magnesium(Mg)alloys,the lightest metal construction material used in industry,play a vital role in future development.However,the poor corrosion resistance of Mg alloys in corrosion environments largely limits their potential wide applications.Therefore,a micro-arc oxidation/graphene oxide/stearic acid(MAO/GO/SA)superhydrophobic composite coating with superior corrosion resistance was fabricated on a Mg alloy AZ91D through micro-arc oxidation(MAO)technology,electrodeposition technique,and self-assembly technology.The composition and microstructure of the coating were characterized by scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction,energy dispersive spectroscopy,and Raman spectroscopy.The effective protection of the MAO/GO/SA composite coating applied to a substrate was evaluated using potentiodynamic polarization,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy tests,and salt spray tests.The results showed that the MAO/GO/SA composite coating with a petal spherical structure had the best superhydrophobicity,and it attained a contact angle of 159.53°±2°.The MAO/GO/SA composite coating exhibited high resistance to corrosion,according to electrochemical and salt spray tests.

文摘The corrosion resistance behavior of a highly dispersed MgO-MgAl2O4-ZrO2 composite refractory material is examined by testing with high-basicity and low-basicity RH(Ruhrstahl-Hereaeus)slags.The composite material exhibits greater resistance to the RH slags than the traditional MgO-Cr2O3 composite,MgO-ZrO2 composite,and MgO-MgAl2O4-ZrO2 composite.On the basis of the microstructural analysis and mechanisms calculations,the corrosion resistance behavior of the MgO-MgAl2O4-ZrO2 composite is attributable to its highly dispersed structure,which helps protect the high activity of ZrO2.When in contact with the slag,ZrO2 reacts with CaO to form the stable phase CaZrO3,which protects MgAl2O4 against corrosion,thereby enhancing the corrosion resistance of the composite.
文摘Introducing inorganic nanomaterials into a polymer matrix greatly improves the anticorrosion performance of epoxy coatings(EP);however,poor compatibility between the materials can limit the improvement in properties.In this work,based on the high interface compatibility of two-dimensional(2D)Co_(2)(OH)_(2)BDC(BDC=1,4-benzenedicarboxylate)in the epoxy coating that we reported in previous work,we fabricated a 2D Co_(2)(OH)_(2)BDC-halloysite nanotube(HNT)nanocomposite have a structure consisting of alternating of nanosheets and nanotube by in situ synthesis.The nanocomposite was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction,and scanning electron microscopy.The mechanical and anticorrosion performance of the 2D Co_(2)(OH)_(2)BDC-HNT/EP coating was evaluated by mechanical tests and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy spectra.Compared with a conventional unreinforced epoxy coating,the 2D Co_(2)(OH)_(2)BDC-HNT/EP coating had higher mechanical strength and toughness,and the low-frequency impedance modulus of 2D Co_(2)(OH)_(2)BDC-HNT/EP coating was increased by three orders of magnitude,demonstrating the high corrosion resistance of our reinforced coating.

文摘The effects of Ti content and the alloying elements of Si and Cu on the microstructures of casting in situ Al3Ti-Al composites were investigated. Simultaneously, their corrosion properties were also discussed. The results indicate that the aspect ratios of Al3Ti platelets in different Al based composites are different although all of them are in flaky shape. The morphologies of Al3Ti phase are not only determined by Ti content, but are also related to the alloying elements. The grain refining role of Al3Ti phase in the pure Al and Al-Cu based composites is more effective than that in the Al-Si based composite. The addition of Ti decreases the corrosion resistance of pure Al and Al alloys. The corrosion resistances of the composites are dependent on both the corrosion characteristics of the corresponding matrixes and the distribution of Al3Ti platelets.
