Theoretical analysis and numerical simulation show that random waveguides and multi-path effects can bring much additional transmission loss for the noise line spectra, demonstrating the instability of ship radiated noise line spectra to a certain extent, and providing some theoretical support for advanced studies of ship radiated noise.展开更多

The varieties analyzed by 11 RAPD and 8 ISSR primers yielded an average of 65% and 80% polymorphism, respectively. The average number of polymorphic bands generated per RAPD primer was 6 and per ISSR primer was 5.87. RAPD and ISSR data analysis individually could not segregate basmati and non-basmati scented rice accessions. However, the analysis using a combined data could group basmati and non-basmati scented rice accessions separately. The bands present specifically among three accessions of non-basmati scented rice were also identified. The study revealed a high genetic diversity among non-basmati scented rice accessions.展开更多

The basic principle involved in the proposed random pulse width modulation (RPWM) c...In this paper, an improved hybrid space vector pulse width modulation (HSVPWM) technique is proposed for IM (induction motor) drives. The basic principle involved in the proposed random pulse width modulation (RPWM) cuddled SVPWM is amalgamating the pre-calculated switching timings for various sections of hexagonal space vector boundary and the random selection of carrier between two triangular signals, in order to disband acoustic switching noise spectrum with improved fundamental component. The arbitrary selection between triangular carriers, which is decided by digital signal states (Low or High) of the linear feedback shift register (LFSR) based pseudo random binary sequence (PRBS) generator. The SVPWM offers a control degree of freedom in terms of positioning of vectors inside every sampling interval and hence it has six possible variants of the voltage vectors arrangements in each sector. The developed HSVPWM is thoroughly analyzed in using the MATLAB? based simulation for all SVPWM variants. From the simulation and experimental results viz. harmonic spectrum, harmonic spread factor (HSF), total harmonic distortion (THD) etc., and the superiority of the proposed scheme such as better utilization of DC bus and the randomization of the harmonic power are evidenced. For the practical implementation, Xilinx XC3S500E FPGA device has been used.展开更多

The fractal dimensions of DNA sequences, including exons, coding seque...Gridding dimension has been carded out in order to measure and illustrate the complexity and self-similarity of coding sequences from human genes. The fractal dimensions of DNA sequences, including exons, coding sequences and some random ones have been studied in this work. The 60 genes from human genome were the choice as samples, and the results show that the gridding dimension of the whole coding sequences is smaller than that of every exon. The conclusion was corroborated by random sequences, and by combination of fractal theory with Fourier power spectrum, it speculated that gene with fewer exons could embody more information while it was contrary for gene with more exons and some information might be stored in introns generally. These results are helpful to understand the complexity of DNA sequences.展开更多
