The loss of rare earths(REs)takes place during the pre-decalcification process of mixed rare earth concentrate.In an effort to reduce such RE loss,a novel idea to improve the leaching selectivity of Ca to REs by applying selective mechanical activation was proposed.First,regarding the key minerals affecting the leaching selectivity of Ca to REs,the differences in the mechanical activation behaviors of CaF_(2) and REFCO_(3) were studied,and we find that the lattice strain of CaF_(2) increases from 0.21%to 0.42%,whereas that of REFCO_(3) increases from 0.31%to 0.40%.Notably,CaF_(2) demonstrates a larger lattice strain than REFCO_(3),indicating greater mechanical activation energy storage and higher leaching activity.Next,the HCl leaching process was studied.A significant leaching selectivity of Ca to REs,from 21.6 to 35.1,is achieved through mechanical activation.The Ca leaching rate reaches 80.7%when the RE loss is 2.3%in the activated sample.This study provides an novel approach for achieving selective extraction of specific components via mechanical activation pretreatment. 展开更多

Thermal decomposition and phase transformation for the mixture of Bayan Obo rare earth concentrate(BORC)and sodium carbonate(Na2CO3)roasted at different temperatures with weight ratio of 100:20 were studied in detail in our study.The aim of our study is to reveal the nature of roasting reaction between BORC and Na2CO3 and thus providing a new method for processing BORC.The results indicate that BORC can be decomposed completely with Na2CO3 at around 600℃after 3 h.During the calcination process,Ce0.5Nd0.5O1.75,NaF,Na3PO4,and a rare earth double phosphate phase Na3RE(PO4)2 are formed after the decomposition of BORC with Na2CO3.In addition,the thermal decomposition mechanism is determined in the paper.Based on these facts,a clean technique processing BORC was developed.And a CeF3 powder,whose composition was measured and stability was also evaluated,was obtained for some potential application from the new technique.This research is of significance in terms of the Na2CO3-roasting BORC solid reaction study and sheds a light on a potential clean technique for BORC. 展开更多

大洋海底蕴藏着丰富的稀土矿产资源,包括深海富稀土软泥和多金属锰结核和富钴结壳。本文则关注了多金属锰结核和富钴结壳中的稀土元素的富集机制。作者首先统计了全世界范围内各重要海域的结核与结壳的稀土元素和钇(REY)的含量,发现重... 大洋海底蕴藏着丰富的稀土矿产资源,包括深海富稀土软泥和多金属锰结核和富钴结壳。本文则关注了多金属锰结核和富钴结壳中的稀土元素的富集机制。作者首先统计了全世界范围内各重要海域的结核与结壳的稀土元素和钇(REY)的含量,发现重稀土和钇(HEY)在结核结壳中的比重普遍大于15%,而结核与结壳的稀土含量则普遍高于深海洋泥,其中结壳的稀土含量普遍高于结核。针对这类重要的稀土矿藏,作者以库克群岛为例,初步研究了稀土富集机制。分析认为,稀土元素与铁和磷酸盐的含量具有强相关性,且铁锰结核或结壳中的稀土很可能是主要通过胶状羟基氧化铁吸附而缓慢富集起来的。 展开更多

Selective-controlled structure and shape of CeVO4 nanocrystals were successfully synthesized via a hydrothermal method from Na3VO4·12H2O and Ce(NO3)3·6H2O.The resulting products were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD),field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS).The influence of hydrothermal temperature,precursor solution concentration on the crystal and morphology of products were further studied.The results showed that the as-synthesized products exhibited pure single-crystal CeVO4 nanoparticles with tetragonal structure.The hydrothermal temperature and precursor solution concentration had important effects on the formation of CeVO4 nanoparticles.Furthermore,the growth mechanism of CeVO4 nanoparticles was explained with Ostwald ripening mechanism. 展开更多
