Optimum Sizing and Economic Analysis of Standalone PV System with a Small Size Grinding Mill

The sizing of all the system’s components was carried out with the prospect of determining an optimum design in accordance with daily electricity demand, site irradiance profile and climatic conditions. Discharge plasmas in air can be accompanied by ultraviolet(UV) radiation and electron impact,which can produce large numbers of reactive species such as hydroxyl radical(OH·),oxygen radical(O·),ozone(O3),and nitrogen oxides(NOx),etc.The composition and dosage of reactive species usually play an important role in the case of volatile organic compounds(VOCs) treatment with the discharge plasmas.In this paper,we propose a volume discharge setup used to purify formaldehyde in air,which is configured by a plate-to-plate dielectric barrier discharge(DBD) channel and excited by an AC high voltage source.The results show that the relative spectral-intensity from DBD cell without formaldehyde is stronger than the case with formaldehyde.The energy efficiency ratios(EERs) of both oxides yield and formaldehyde removal can be regulated by the gas flow velocity in DBD channel,and the most desirable processing effect is the gas flow velocity within the range from2.50 to 3.33 m s^-1.Moreover,the EERs of both the generated dosages of oxides(O3 and NO2) and the amount of removed formaldehyde can also be regulated by both of the applied voltage and power density loaded on the DBD cell.Additionally,the EERs of both oxides generation and formaldehyde removal present as a function of normal distribution with increasing the applied power density,and the peak of the function is appeared in the range from 273.5 to 400.0 W l-1.This work clearly demonstrates the regulation characteristic of both the formaldehyde removal and oxides yield by using volume DBD,and it is helpful in the applications of VOCs removal by using discharge plasma. 展开更多

The on-line coordinated control strategy among multi-voltage controls is important to keep voltage security in post-fault systems. Based on the wide area measuring information, the energy function, which can qualify the impacts of the different control actions on voltage of different nodes, is proposed. And then, considering the impacts of different control actions on the node voltage being treated as a weight matrix, the energy margin is used as the objective function and the reactive power margin is innovatively used as the constraint to regulate the control actions globally according to the weight values. At last, the objective functions are solved to get the optimal global coordinated control strategies. The proposed method is identified in an IEEE-30 Bus system and the simulation results show that it effectively improves the voltage stability. 展开更多

Gas-phase CO_2 catalyzed activation hydrogenation by Ru atoms was studied with density functional theory. Based on the structure optimization of different potential energy surfaces,there are two crossing points between singlet and triplet potential energy surfaces and there is a crossing point between quintet and triplet potential energy surfaces in the whole catalytic cycle. Spin transition probabilities in the vicinity of the intersections have been calculated by the Landau-Zener model theory. There are three minimum energy crossing points(MECPs) with strong spin-orbital coupling effect and higher spin transition probability,and all spin inversion occurred in s orbital and different d orbitals of ruthenium,indicating this is a typical two-state reactivity(TSR) reaction. Finally,the lowest energy reaction path is ensured. 展开更多

In light of the accelerated aging of the global population and the deterioration of the atmosphere pollution, we sought to clarify the potential mechanisms by which fine particulate matter(PM_(2.5)) can cause cognitive impairment and neurodegeneration through the alteration of mitochondrial structure and function. The results indicate that PM_(2.5) inhalation reduces ATP production by disrupting the aerobic tricarboxylic acid cycle and oxidative phosphorylation, thereby causing the hypophosphorylation of tau in the cortices of middle-aged mice. Furthermore, excessive reactive oxygen species generation was involved in the impairment. Interestingly, these alterations were partially reversed after exposure to PM_(2.5) ended. These findings clarify the mechanism involved in mitochondrial abnormality-related neuropathological dysfunction in response to atmospheric PM_(2.5) inhalation and provide an optimistic sight for alleviating the adverse health outcomes in polluted areas. 展开更多

This paper deals with the analysis and control of a photovoltaic (PV) system connected to the main supply through a Boost converter and shunt active filter supplied by a PV system providing continuous supply of nonlinear load in variation. A robust control of a PV system connected to the grid while feeding a variable nonlinear load is developed and highlighted. This development is based on the control of the Boost converter to extract the maximum power from the PV system using the Perturb and Observe (P and O) algorithm in the presence of temperature and illumination. The proposed modeling and control strategy provide power to the variable nonlinear load and facilitates the transfer of power from solar panel to the grid while improving the quality of energy (harmonic currents compensation, power factor compensation and dc bus voltage regulation). Validation of the developed model and control strategy is conducted using power system simulator Sim-Power System Blockset Matlab/Simulink. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the shunt active filter to load changes, the method of instantaneous power (pq theory) is used to identify harmonic currents. The obtained results show an accurate extraction of harmonic currents and perfect compensation of both reactive power and harmonic currents with a lower THD and in accordance with the IEEE-519 standard. 展开更多
