Design of PLC Centralized Meter Reading System

With the increasing development of urban housing construction and the rapid expansion of the number of inhabitants and independent electric energy meter, a variety of tariff systems are launched, meter reading metering becomes increasingly complex, and the traditional manual meter reading is already hard to adapt to new changes. This thesis studies the design of a centralized meter reading system. This program applies PLC technology for information transfer, which guarantees the stability of system carrier communication. This system is composed of electric energy meter, collector, concentrator and other hardware, as well as communication and management software of collection copies system. It is characterized by functions of power data collection, centralization, remote transmission, distance control, electricity analysis, line loss calculation, integrated query, and time-sharing billing. Its promotion and application will necessarily provide important technical means for power supply, property and urban utilities to improve their modernized and automatic management level.

Radiation dose detection using a high-power portable optically stimulated luminescence real-time reading system

Optically stimulated luminescence(OSL) reading systems are becoming smaller and capable of real-time detection. To improve real-time and multipurpose radiation dosimetry readings, we built a real-time continuous-wave(RCW) OSL reading system. This system is both small and lightweight, and it employs powerful laser excitation(478 mW/cm^2) at the dosimetry probe location. We investigate the possibility of using the RCW mode to read the radiation luminescence(RL) or OSL by using a singlecrystal Al_2O_3:C dosimeter in a low-dose-rate137 Cs y field.Our results indicate that the RL/OSL follows a stable and uniform distribution. The minimum detected doses associated with the RL, OSL, and RL + OSL signals are2.1 9 10^(-2), 3.17 9 10^(-1), and 5.7 9 10^(-2) l Gy, respectively. This device provides a framework for the future development of applications for practical radiation dose measurements.

Analysis on Development of Basic English Extensive Reading System and the Applications on the Reading Teaching of Sports News

This paper conducts the analysis on development of the basic English extensive reading system and the applications on the reading teaching of sports news. Extensive reading of text or material is dead and cannot provide a teaching model. How to talk about what to proceed from reality, according to the principle of gradual and orderly, according to the level of the students and the ability to accept. English newspapers as fresh language, popular novel, close to the life of a corpus source that is the college English teaching has always attached importance to the reference materials. According to the rhetorical characteristics of English newspapers, we set the course, it is best to learn some rhetorical knowledge after the students to open the course, English majors can learn after the rhetoric can also be extended as the rhetoric class and homework. This paper proposes the new idea of dealing with mentioned issues that will promote the development of reading teaching of sports news.

Research and Design on Remote Meter Reading System based on PLC Technology

With the deepened transformation of China＇s power system, the stability and reliability of power utilization have been dramatically improved, but meter reading data acquisition does not keep pace with the times. With the continuous maturity of low-voltage power line communication （PLC）, this leads us to see hopes of using PLC technology to realize remote meter reading. In this paper, based on current PLC technology and combining domestic and foreign successful cases, a beneficial exploration and research is conducted from the composition and establishment of software and the design of software and protocol.

A new digital information storing and reading system based on synthetic DNA

Dear Editor,In the＂big data era＂,the amount of digital information is growing explosively,therefore,a reliable data storage medium for large-scale digital archiving is urgently needed.However,the increase of existing storage capacity cannot keep up with the growth of digital information.Moreover,the durability of conventional storage teclanologles, sucn as magnetic and optical devices, is very limited. Since the first demonstration of using DNA to store messages in 1988, DNA has been considered as a promising data storage medium due to its high-density and long-term stability （half-life〉500years） （Allentoft et al., 2012）.

Reading man皮瓣修复术治疗皮肤缺损的疗效观察

目的:探讨Reading man皮瓣修复术在全身不同部位皮肤缺损及其预防瘢痕增生的临床疗效。方法:回顾性分析2021年1月—2023年10月该科应用Reading man皮瓣修复术治疗全身不同部位皮肤软组织缺损的20例患者临床资料。结果:所有患者皮瓣均成活。术后随访时间为3~24个月,所有皮瓣血运良好,色泽红润,质地柔软,外观适宜,局部皮肤张力较低,手术切口瘢痕增生不明显,切口周围软组织无明显形变,周围关节活动度正常。所有患者均恢复良好,疗效满意。结论:Reading man皮瓣特有的设计可以很好地解决全身多部位较大的皮肤软组织缺损,尤其在术中可以最大限度地减少正常皮肤的切除,术后外观、功能及皮肤瘢痕增生均有较满意的表现,且不存在自体皮移植带来的供皮区损伤。

A systematic review of reading tests

Adequate near and intermediate visual capacity is important in performing everyday tasks,especially after the introduction of smartphones and computers in our professional and recreational activities.Primary objective of this study was to review all available reading tests both conventional and digital and explore their integrated characteristics.A systematic review of the recent literature regarding reading charts was performed based on the PubM ed,Google Scholar,and Springer databases between February and March 2021.Data from 11 descriptive and 24 comparative studies were included in the present systematic review.Clinical settings are still dominated by conventional printed reading charts;however,the most prevalent of them(i.e.,Jaeger type charts)are not validated.Reliable reading capacity assessment is done only by those that comply with the International Council of Ophthalmology(ICO)recommendations.Digital reading tests are gaining popularity both in clinical and research settings and are differentiated in standard computer-based applications that require installation either in a computer or a tablet(e.g.,Advanced VISION Test and web-based ones e.g.,Democritus Digital Acuity Reading Test requires no installation).It is evident that validated digital tests will prevail in future clinical or research settings and it is upon ophthalmologists to select the one most compatible with their examination routine.

A simple 2D modulation code in single-reader two-track reading BPMR systems

A reduction in the track width of magnetic recording systems results in a welcome increase in Areal Density(AD),but can severely deteriorate system performance in the unfortunate appearance of extreme Inter-Track Interference(ITI).The effect of severe ITI may be mitigated by using coding schemes.In this paper,therefore,we present a rate-5/62-Dimensional(2D)modulation code based on a proposed Single-Reader/Two-track Reading(SRTR)technique to cope with this serious problem in staggered Bit-Pattemed Magnetic Recording(BPMR)systems.We then evaluate the Bit-Error Rate(BER)performance of the proposed system in the presence of media noises,e.g.,position and size fluctuations.Our simulation results indicate that,at the same User Density(UD),the proposed system performs better than an uncoded system by about 1.0 dB at the BER of 105 and is also superior to the conventional recording system.

Systemic Genre A Systematic Framework for EFL Reading Comprehension

Although there are many different approaches to reading, particularly interactive model of reading process, ESL （English as a Second Language） and EFL （English as a Foreign Language） learners, even with sufficient linguistic background knowledge, still suffer from inability to comprehend a reading text. It is held that there is no shortage of studies in reading; however, there seems to be no systematic framework through which learners can incorporate the vast array of factors involved in the reading as an interaction. To solve this problem, this paper aims to postulate a framework whereby readers are systematically exposed to and engaged in interacting with all the local and global meaning-making resources that make up a text as an instance of discourse on the basis of systemic genre. As any text of a different genre has a different goal achieved through a series of particular elements each with distinct discoural and linguistic realizations, this paper introduces a flexible scaffold for readers to interact with reading text from a discoursal perspective working out the overall purpose of the text as a particular genre, identifying the obligatory elements employed to accomplish that goal, getting to know a series of activities being talked about, discovering their logical and semantic relationships, and finally figuring out their grammatical structures. This framework can be applied to other language learning and teaching skills as well as translation.

An Exploration of the English Reading Instruction Model with a Systemic Functional Linguistic Perspective

Reading is an important channel for students to acquire knowledge and information.Therefore,exploring an effective reading instructional model to improve students’reading ability is one of the main goals of today’s university English teaching.The model of English reading instruction based on the theory of systemic functional linguistics is designed to study how teachers can apply this theory to the teaching of reading in order to improve students’reading comprehension.

Teaching Design of the Junior High School English Reading for Deep Learning

English reading holds a pivotal position in junior high school English teaching,constituting an integral component of the entire educational process.Nowadays,it is imperative for English teachers to transcend the conventional,superficial reading instruction models and adopt a deep learning framework to fashion a profound reading classroom for students.This approach allows students to engage in inductive integration,application evaluation,and internalization and transfer,enabling them to delve into seemingly intricate and challenging texts,exploring them from multiple dimensions,including content,structure,and cultural implications.Ultimately,this fosters the development of students'comprehensive reading abilities and English core literacy.This paper,drawing from the perspective of deep learning and incorporating specific case studies,aims to devise a junior high school English reading instruction design that is both academically rigorous and emotionally engaging,with a focus on enhancing students'English core literacy and overall reading proficiency.

Text Difficulty,Working Memory Capacity and Mind Wandering During Chinese EFL Learners’Reading

This experimental study investigated how text difficulty and different working memory capacity(WMC)affected Chinese EFL learners’reading comprehension and their tendency to engage in task-unrelated thoughts,that is,mind wandering(MW),in the course of reading.Sixty first-year university non-English majors participated in the study.A two-factor mixed experimental design of 2(text difficulty:difficult and simple)×2(WMC:high/large and low/small)was employed.Results revealed that 1)the main and interaction effects of WMC and text difficulty on voluntary MW were significant,whereas those on involuntary MW were not;2)while reading the easy texts,the involuntary MW of high-WMC individuals was less frequent than that of low-WMC ones,whereas while reading the difficult ones,the direct relationship between WMC and involuntary MW was not found;and that 3)high-WMC individuals had a lower overall rate of MW and better reading performance than low-WMC individuals did,but with increasing text difficulty,their rates of overall MW and voluntary MW were getting higher and higher,and the reading performance was getting lower and lower.These results lend support to WM theory and have pedagogical implications for the instruction of L2 reading.

A Study on the Values and Strategies of English Picture Book Reading for Improving Pupils’ English Reading Literacy

Reading is one of the core skills in English learning.It is indispensable for EFL learners to develop good English reading literacy in primary schools.English picture books are consistent with pupils’cognitive and thinking modes,which is valuable to improve their English reading literacy.However,at present,most Chinese pupils have some problems in English reading.The paper aims at analyzing the current problems in Chinese pupils’English reading and digging out the values and strategies of English picture book reading,so as to stimulate their reading interests,cultivate their intercultural awareness,and improve their English reading literacy.

The Reading Movement in Shanghai,China in the Late 1950s

At the end of the 1950s,Shanghai region of China carried out the Lu Xun Medal Reading Campaign and the Red Flag Reading Campaign one after another,aiming to guide young people to read good books and cultivate a positive interest in life through reading,which is a gentle and constant form of ideological education.Based on the historical materials collected by Shanghai Archives,the author investigated the background,development,main links,and effects of the reading movement.The research shows that the reading movement has promoted young peoples political awareness,broadened their knowledge horizons,and promoted the formation of a good social atmosphere.

Study on the Influencing Factors of L2 Reading Ability and Its Regulation Strategies

This paper takes college students as research subjects to investigate the factors affecting L2 Reading ability and their regulation strategies through scale surveys.The findings are as follows:(1)Linguistic factors have significant impacts on L2 Reading ability,and the influence of non-linguistic factors,such as non-intellectual factors and cultural background knowledge,is also important;and(2)flexible use of reading regulation strategies according to the learning conditions(such as the information extraction strategy,the metacognitive reading regulation strategy,and the interactive reading strategy)can effectively improve learners’L2 Reading ability.The findings of this study have important theoretical and practical value for improving L2 learners’Reading ability.

Study on the Interactivity of Controlled and Automatic Information Processing in L2 Reading

L2 reading is not only an important channel for people to obtain information and knowledge,but also the main way for people to learn a foreign language.Reading information processing can be divided into controlled processing and automatic processing.Controlled information processing is a conscious and resource-intensive processing model,while automatic information processing is an unconscious and automatic processing model.This study investigates the characteristics and interactivity of controlled and automatic information processing in L2 reading,and explores the roles of controlled and automatic information processing strategies in improving L2 reading ability.The findings are as follows:(a)controlled and automatic information processing is interactive in L2 reading;and(b)the uses of controlled and automatic information processing strategies are beneficial to the improvement of the reading ability of L2 learners.This study has important theoretical and practical value in improving the efficiency of L2 reading teaching and learning.

Exploring the Reasons for Changes in National Reading Behaviour from the Perspective of Media Environmentalism

In this paper, through the perspective of Merowitz’s media environmentalism, following the research path of media-scene-behaviour, and based on the results of the national reading survey released by the China Press and Publication Research Institute in the past ten years (2013-2022), we analyse the characteristics of national reading behaviours, explore the reasons for the changes in national reading behaviour in terms of technology, media, and scenarios. It also discusses the future trend of national reading behaviour and the promotion of national reading activities, and puts forward certain countermeasures from the government, schools and the society to make joint efforts to promote national reading.
