Identification of key recovering node for spatial networks

Many networks in the real world have spatial attributes, such as location of nodes and length of edges, called spatial networks. When these networks are subject to some random or deliberate attacks, some nodes in the ... Many networks in the real world have spatial attributes, such as location of nodes and length of edges, called spatial networks. When these networks are subject to some random or deliberate attacks, some nodes in the network fail, which causes a decline in the network performance. In order to make the network run normally, some of the failed nodes must be recovered. In the case of limited recovery resources, an effective key node identification method can find the key recovering node in the failed nodes, by which the network performance can be recovered most of the failed nodes. We propose two key recovering node identification methods for spatial networks, which are the Euclidean-distance recovery method and the route-length recovery method. Simulations on homogeneous and heterogeneous spatial networks show that the proposed methods can significantly recover the network performance. 展开更多

Genetic information provided by a dominant marker about the genotype is partial or incomplete, and a missing marker provides no information at all. In the present study, based on some basic genetic and statistical principles, a general algorithm is proposed to systematically recover the genotypic information of all dominant and missing markers on a genome for individuals from an F\-2 population. The recovered information can then increase the efficiency and precision in mapping quantitative trait loci (QTL) and marker assisted selection (MAS). The derived method can be easily extended to other populations consisting of all 3 genotypes on each marker locus, such as populations derived from an F\-2 by selfing or random mating. 展开更多

The present study aims to reveal the recovering period of the postseismic fluid pressure in fault zone, offering an insight into earthquake recurrence. Numerical modeling is performed based on a 2D simple layered fault-valve model to simulate the fluid activities within the earthquake fault. In order to demonstrate the features of postseismic fluid pressure in natural state, the interference of tectonic movements is not considered. The recovering period of postseismic fluid pressure includes a sudden- changing period and a much longer fluctuating period. Modeling results show that fault permeability and porosity are sensitive parameters and reversely proportional to the recovering period of the fluid pressure in earthquake fault zone. When the permeability reduces from 10^-15 to 10^-18 m^2, the recovering period increases from 400 to 2 000 yrs, correspondently. The upper and lower fluid pressures are sepa- rated by the valve seal, causing their fluctuations in opposite tendencies. 展开更多

In a non-free field,the existence of disturbing sources would destroy the free-field condition required by near-field acoustic holography,and confuse the identification of target source due to the scattering effect caused by disturbing sound falling on the target source.To totally remove the influence of disturbing source,a method for recovering and reconstructing the target sound field in a non-free field was proposed based on the equivalent source method and the pressure-velocity measurement.In the proposed method,the sound field separation technique was firstly used to separate the mixed sound field into the outgoing field coming from the target source and the incoming field coming from the disturbing source.Then the scattered component contained in the outgoing field was calculated by using the disturbing sound and the surface impedance of the target source.Finally,the sound field radiated by the target source in a free field was obtained by subtracting the scattered component from the outgoing field and was further used to reconstruct the sound field of the target source.The proposed method was numerically and experimentally testified and the results of both the simulation and the experiment demonstrated the validity of the proposed method. 展开更多

Corn and Soybean Growth as Affected by Wastewater-Derived Struvite-Phosphorus Sources and Irrigation Water Types

Struvite (MgNH<sub>4</sub>PO<sub>4</sub>·6H<sub>2</sub>O) produced synthetically from a stock solution of known phosphorus (P) and nitrogen (N) concentrations has been shown to be an effective, alternative fertilizer-P source for various crops, but little is known about the potential agronomic effectiveness of struvite created from an actual municipal wastewater source. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of soil [i.e., Creldon silt loam (Oxyaquic Fragiudalf) and Calloway silt loam (Aquic Fraglossudalf) series], fertilizer-P source [i.e., synthetically produced electrochemically precipitated struvite (ECSTsyn), real-wastewater-derived ECST (ECSTreal), chemically precipitated struvite (CPST), monoammonium phosphate (MAP), and an unamended control (UC)], and irrigation water type (i.e., tapwater and struvite-removed wastewater) on corn (Zea mays L.) and soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] growth and N, P, and magnesium (Mg) uptake in a 60-day, greenhouse potted-plant study. Crop growth and N, P, and Mg uptakes for the struvite treatments (i.e., CPST, ECSTsyn, and ECSTreal) were generally similar to or at least 1.2 times greater than MAP. The ECSTsyn material commonly had up to five times greater N, P, and Mg uptake in corn and soybean than any other fertilizer-P source. Struvite-removed wastewater resulted in at least 1.3 times lower dry matter and N, P, and Mg uptake than tapwater. Similar corn and soybean results from the struvite fertilizers among the various soil-water type combinations compared to MAP suggest that struvite generates similar crop responses as at least one widely used, commercially available, multi-nutrient fertilizer-P source. 展开更多

Recovery of Ni-Cd batteries was studied by a self-designed vacuum-aided recovering system under laboratory conditions. The fundamental research on a process of disassembling and recovering selected materials from Ni-Cd batterieswas conducted. The impacts of temperature, pressure and time were studied respectively. The mechanism of vacuum thermal recovering was also discussed. The results show that: Ni-Cd batteries can be recovered effectively byvacuum-aided recovering system at 573~1173 K. At constant pressure, the increase of temperature can improve theseparating efficiency of cadmium. When the temperature is 1173 K, the cadmium can evaporate completely fromthe residue during 3 h at 10 Pa. The reduction of pressure in the certain range is effective to separate cadmium byvacuum distillation. Distillation time is a very important factor affecting separation of cadmium. 展开更多

Qualitative comparisonand analysis have been made for the events in Mar. and Aug. especiallyfrom the difference of the variation of cosmic ray intensity in BeijingTokoy, and Guangzhou, and the anisotropic character of cosmic rayintensity from East to West direction recorded by the scintillator telescope in Guangzhou. It is found that though the events of decreaseof cosmic ray in Mar. and Aug. both coused by solar flares, there aredifference between two events, either in the shape of the decrease of cosmic ray or in the energy distribution of the falling particles.1989 is one of the years of the nationwide joint observation for the 22’ Max.
