Effect of continuous nursing on rehabilitation of older patients with joint replacement after discharge

BACKGROUND Joint replacement is a common treatment for older patients with high incidences of hip joint diseases.However,postoperative recovery is slow and complications are common,which reduces surgical effectiveness.Therefore,patients require long-term,high-quality,and effective nursing interventions to promote rehabilitation.Continuity of care has been used successfully in other diseases;however,little research has been conducted on older patients who have undergone hip replacement.AIM To explore the clinical effect of continuous nursing on rehabilitation after discharge of older individuals who have undergone joint replacement.METHODS A retrospective analysis was performed on the clinical data of 113 elderly patients.Patients receiving routine nursing were included in the convention group(n=60),and those receiving continuous nursing,according to various methods,were included in the continuation group(n=53).Harris score,short form 36(SF-36)score,complication rate,and readmission rate were compared between the convention and continuation groups.RESULTS After discharge,Harris and SF-36 scores of the continuation group were higher than those of the convention group.The Harris and SF-36 scores of the two groups showed an increasing trend with time,and there was an interaction effect between group and time(Harris score:F_(intergroup effect)=376.500,F_(time effect)=20.090,Finteraction effect=4.824;SF-36 score:F_(intergroup effect)=236.200,Ftime effect=16.710,Finteraction effect=5.584;all P<0.05).Furthermore,the total complication and readmission rates in the continuation group were lower(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Continuous nursing could significantly improve hip function and quality of life in older patients after joint replacement and reduce the incidence of complications and readmission rates.

Operation room nursing based on humanized nursing mode combined with nitric oxide on rehabilitation effect after lung surgery

BACKGROUND With advancements in the diagnosis and treatment of lung diseases,lung segment surgery has become increasingly common.Postoperative rehabilitation is critical for patient recovery,yet challenges such as complications and adverse outcomes persist.Incorporating humanized nursing modes and novel treatments like nitric oxide inhalation may enhance recovery and reduce postoperative complications.AIM To evaluate the effects of a humanized nursing mode combined with nitric oxide inhalation on the rehabilitation outcomes of patients undergoing lung surgery,focusing on pulmonary function,recovery speed,and overall treatment costs.METHODS A total of 79 patients who underwent lung surgery at a tertiary hospital from March 2021 to December 2021 were divided into a control group(n=39)receiving a routine nursing program and an experimental group(n=40)receiving additional humanized nursing interventions and atomized inhalation of nitric oxide.Key indicators were compared between the two groups alongside an analysis of treatment costs.RESULTS The experimental group demonstrated significant improvements in pulmonary function,reduced average recovery time,and lower total treatment costs compared to the control group.Moreover,the quality of life in the experimental group was significantly better in the 3 months post-surgery,indicating a more effective rehabilitation process.CONCLUSION The combination of humanized nursing mode and nitric oxide inhalation in postoperative care for lung surgery patients significantly enhances pulmonary rehabilitation outcomes,accelerates recovery,and reduces economic burden.This approach offers a promising reference for improving patient care and rehabilitation efficiency following lung surgery.

The Promoting Role of TCM Nursing in the Rehabilitation of Stroke Hemiplegia Patients

Objective: To explore the promoting function of TCM nursing in the rehabilitation of hemiplegia patients with stroke. Methods: 78 stroke hemiplegic patients admitted from April 2022 to April 2024 were randomly divided into a control group of 38 cases who received routine care, and an experimental group of 40 cases who received routine nursing basis plus traditional Chinese medicine nursing;the nursing effects of the two groups of patients were compared. Results: After 12 days of nursing care, the experimental group showed better psychological status [SAS score (21.71 ± 3.21), SDS score (22.18 ± 2.31)], limb motor function, daily living ability, and neurological function [NIHSS score (12.23 ± 2.21)] than the control group, with significant differences in data (P Conclusion: Traditional Chinese medicine nursing for stroke hemiplegia patients is more conducive to promoting rehabilitation than routine nursing.

Clinical value of precise rehabilitation nursing in management of cerebral infarction

BACKGROUND Cerebral infarction,previously referred to as cerebral infarction or ischemic stroke,refers to the localized brain tissue experiencing ischemic necrosis or softening due to disorders in brain blood supply,ischemia,and hypoxia.The precision rehabilitation nursing model for chronic disease management is a continuous,fixed,orderly,and efficient nursing model aimed at standardizing the clinical nursing process,reducing the wastage of medical resources,and improving the quality of medical services.AIM To analyze the value of a precise rehabilitation nursing model for chronic disease management in patients with cerebral infarction.METHODS Patients(n=124)admitted to our hospital with cerebral infarction between November 2019 and November 2021 were enrolled as the study subjects.The random number table method was used to divide them into a conventional nursing intervention group(n=61)and a model nursing intervention group(n=63).Changes in the nursing index for the two groups were compared after conventional nursing intervention and precise rehabilitation intervention nursing for chronic disease management.RESULTS Compared with the conventional intervention group,the model intervention group had a shorter time to clinical symptom relief(P<0.05),lower Hamilton Anxiety Scale and Hamilton Depression Scale scores,a lower incidence of total complications(P<0.05),a higher disease knowledge mastery rate,higher safety and quality,and a higher overall nursing satisfaction rate(P<0.05).CONCLUSION The precision rehabilitation nursing model for chronic disease management improves the clinical symptoms of patients with cerebral infarction,reducing the incidence of total complications and improving the clinical outcome of patients,and is worthy of application in clinical practice.

Nursing Effect of Rapid Rehabilitation Surgery Concept in Laparoscopic Surgery for Extrahepatic Bile Duct Stones

Objective: To explore the application value of rapid rehabilitation concept in patients with extrahepatic bile duct stones under laparoscopy during perioperative period. Methods: 90 patients with extrahepatic bile duct stones treated in our hospital from January 2022 to February 2023 were selected as the research object and randomly divided into the study group and the control group. The control group was given routine care, and the observation group was given rapid surgical rehabilitation care. The postoperative anal exhaust time, first meal time, early activity time, pain time, abdominal drainage tube removal time, hospitalization time and complication rate were compared between the two groups. The independent sample T test was used for the measurement data, and the x2 test was used for the counting data, and the difference was statistically significant (P Results: The postoperative anal exhaust time, first meal time, early activity time, pain time, abdominal drainage tube removal time and hospitalization time in the study group were shorter than those in the control group (all P Conclusion: The concept of rapid rehabilitation can significantly improve the perioperative nursing effect of patients with extrahepatic bile duct stones and accelerate their rehabilitation, which is worth improving and popularizing.

Improvement in Patient Mobility Following Short-Term Rehabilitation in Skilled Nursing Facilities

Background: Mobility in older adults can be impaired after acute illness or hospitalization, and the level of severity can be used as a predictor of one’s ability to return to independent living. Patients are often referred to skilled nursing facilities in hopes of improving their mobility. We wanted to prove that rehabilitative services at Skilled Nursing Facilities improve overall outcomes. Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of data from 4612 patients admitted for short-term rehabilitation in a large nursing home chain in California. Our aim was to determine whether patients’ mobility scores, as measured by rehabilitative staff, significantly improved by time of discharge compared to their scores at admission. Mobility scores were rated from 1 to 6, with 1 being the most dependent on aid and 6 being the most independent, over a variety of tasks at admission and compared to scores at discharge. Pearson’s correlations were performed to determine if there were significant relationships in the data: the Pearson’s correlation coefficient was used to describe the relationships between patient admission to a skilled nursing facility and medical improvement upon discharge. Results: The study demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in patients’ mobility scores upon discharge, with Medicare insured patients showing on average 57% improvement and Managed Care insured patients showing on average 59% improvement. Additionally, admission scores appeared to be predictive of the patient’s outcome at discharge. Conclusions: The values and consistency of improvement support the use of acute rehabilitative services in skilled nursing facilities. An equation can be formulated that evaluates patients’ estimated mobility statuses upon discharge from facilities based on their conditions on their arrivals. With this, new interventions can be studied and compared to the current standard of care by using these measurements. They can determine if further improvements can be made to increase patient outcomes.

Application Value of Early Comprehensive Rehabilitation Nursing in Patients with Occupational Asthma

Background Occupational asthma is a type of asthma caused by exposure to asthma-causing substances in an occupational setting. Its incidence is closely related to the degree of industrial development, but also related to the nature of asthma. In some specific industries, such as workers who are exposed to asthmatic isocyanates for a long time, the incidence of occupational asthma can reach 5%-10%, and the incidence of occupational asthma can even reach 50% or higher among workers engaged in the detergent industry who are in contact with proteolytic enzymes for a long time. Objective To analyze the clinical value of early comprehensive rehabilitation nursing for patients with occupational asthma, methods a total of 48 patients with occupational asthma who were admitted from January 2020 to December 2022 were divided into control group and study group by random number table method The disappearance time of chest tightness and shortness of breath, the disappearance time of wheezing and cough, and the FEV1, forced vital capacity (FVC) and peak expiratory flow (PEF) indexes before and after treatment were compared between the two groups after nursing, the disappearance time of clinical symptoms in the study group was shorter than that in the control group, and the levels of FEV1, FVC and PEF were higher than those in the control group, and the P < 0.05 was significantly improved.

Evidence-Based Design Application of Water Landscaping for Rehabilitation Gardens for Patients with Mental Disorders

The aim of the article is to explore the influence of the water landscape design of a rehabilitation garden for patients with mental disorders on the recovery effect of patients,intending to provide a better rehabilitation environment for patients with mental disorders.Based on literature research,this article reviews three aspects of evidence-based design theory,the concept of water landscape in rehabilitation gardens,and the types of water features in rehabilitation gardens.The results show that well-designed water features can significantly improve patients’psychological state and reduce anxiety and stress,and that water landscape design in rehabilitation gardens is an effective rehabilitation tool that can facilitate the recovery process of patients with mental disorders.Future designs should take into full consideration patients’needs and preferences,as well as best practices in waterscape design,to maximize its positive impact on patients’recovery.

Research on the Application Effect of Humanized Nursing Management in Pediatric Rehabilitation Wards

Objective:To explore the application effect of humanized nursing management in pediatric rehabilitation wards.Methods:82 pediatric patients admitted to our hospital between January 2023 and January 2024 were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group.Among them,the control group was given routine care,while the observation group received humanized nursing management,and the clinical nursing effects and situations of the two groups of children were compared and analyzed.Results:After nursing,the observation group showed significantly better performance in intelligent Developmental Quotient(DQ)values(P<0.05).The clinical nursing satisfaction of the observation group was significantly better than that of the control group(χ^(2)=11.710,P<0.05).Conclusion:Humanized nursing management for patients in pediatric rehabilitation wards not only improves their recovery but also significantly enhances parental satisfaction,which is worth learning from and promoting in clinical settings.

A Study on the Application of Evidence-Based Nursing in The Care of Patients with Severe Acute Pancreatitis

Objective: To explore the application research of evidence-based nursing in the care of patients with severe acute pancreatitis. Methods: This study focuses on evidence-based nursing care of severe acute pancreatitis. Patients with severe acute pancreatitis who received treatment in our hospital were selected, from which 80 cases were chosen for detailed analysis. The patients were randomly grouped into a control group (conventional nursing care) and a study group (evidence-based nursing care), with 40 patients each. Relevant research data were recorded during the nursing process, analyzed, and used as research indicators. Results: The hospitalization time and morbidity and mortality rate of the research group were shorter than those of the control group, and the recovery rate was higher than that of the control group (P < 0.05). Patient satisfaction with nursing care in the observation group was higher than in the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: For patients with severe acute pancreatitis, the use of evidence-based nursing methods effectively reduced the patient’s mortality rate, improved its curative effect, and also shortened the patient’s hospitalization time.

Application Effect of Early Rehabilitation Nursing in Elderly Cerebral Infarction Patients with Dysphagia

Objective:To observe the application effect of early rehabilitation nursing in elderly cerebral infarction patients with dysphagia.Methods:120 cases of elderly cerebral infarction patients with dysphagia were divided into 60 cases in the control group and 60 cases in the observation group by the double-blind method,and conventional nursing and early rehabilitation nursing were implemented respectively.Swallowing function,quality of life,adverse events,and nursing satisfaction were compared before and after nursing care.Results:After nursing,the swallowing function score of the observation group(1.01±0.18 points)was lower than that of the control group,and the quality of life score(160.63±9.95 points)was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05);the incidence rates of aspiration and aspiration pneumonia in the observation group(5.00%and 3.33%)were lower than that of the control group(P<0.05);the total nursing satisfaction of the observation group(98.33%)was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Early rehabilitation nursing can reduce the degree of dysphagia in elderly patients with cerebral infarction,reduce the incidents of aspiration and aspiration pneumonia,and improve the quality of life,with high nursing satisfaction.

The Application Effect of Predictive Nursing on Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation of Patients Undergoing Heart Valve Surgery with Extracorporeal Circulation

Objective:To evaluate the application effect of predictive nursing on patients undergoing heart valve surgery with extracorporeal circulation(ECC).Methods:92 ECC patients admitted to the hospital between July 2021 and July 2023 were selected and grouped by random number table method;the observation group practiced predictive nursing,while the reference group practiced conventional nursing.The cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and other indexes were compared between the groups.Results:The postoperative rehabilitation time of the observation group was shorter than that of the reference group,the treatment compliance was higher than that of the reference group,the cardiopulmonary function indexes were all better than that of the reference group,and the complication rate was lower than that of the reference group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The implementation of predictive nursing for ECC patients can promote postoperative rehabilitation,improve patients’treatment compliance,and enhance the cardiopulmonary rehabilitation effect,and nursing safety is high.

Analysis of the Effect of Respiratory Rehabilitation Nursing on the Quality of Life of Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Objective:To understand the impact of respiratory rehabilitation nursing on the quality of life of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD),and to provide a theoretical basis for better clinical implementation of this nursing measure.Methods:68 COPD patients admitted from September 2022 to July 2023 were selected to determine the type of COPD(mild,moderate,severe)based on clinical manifestations and laboratory test results,and were divided into a study group(42 cases)and a control group(26 cases),with the control group adopting the conventional treatment plan,and the patients in the study group receiving individualized respiratory rehabilitation nursing care.The patients’respiratory function and quality of life after treatment are observed.Results:The total score of the study group(65.71±12.02)was significantly higher than that of the control group(52.73±11.54),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);in terms of pulmonary function,the results of pulmonary function tests of the two groups of patients were in the normal range after treatment,and the study group was slightly better than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);the score of the study group in terms of exercise endurance was significantly higher than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Respiratory rehabilitation nursing can effectively improve the quality of life of COPD patients,and is worthy of popularization and application.

Necessary prerequisites for evidence-based practice:results of investigating nurses'informatics competency and information literacy skills

This study aimed to evaluate the correlation between nursing informatics(NI)competency and information literacy skills for evidencebased practice(EBP)among intensive care nurses.This cross-sectional study was conducted on 184 nurses working in intensive care units(ICUs).The study data were collected through demographic information,Nursing Informatics Competency Assessment Tool(NICAT),and information literacy skills for EBP questionnaires.The intensive care nurses received competent and low-moderate levels for the total scores of NI competency and information literacy skills,respectively.They received a moderate score for the use of different information resources but a low score for information searching skills,different search features,and knowledge about search operators,and only 31.5%of the nurses selected the most appropriate statement.NI competency and related subscales had a significant direct bidirectional correlation with information literacy skills for EBP and its subscales(P<0.05).Nurses require a high level of NI competency and information literacy for EBP to obtain up-to-date information and provide better care and decision-making.Health planners and policymakers should develop interventions to enhance NI competency and information literacy skills among nurses and motivate them to use EBP in clinical settings.

Application of a hospital–community–family trinity rehabilitation nursing model combined with motor imagery therapy in patients with cerebral infarction

BACKGROUND Rehabilitation nursing is considered an indispensable part of the cerebral infarction treatment system.The hospital–community–family trinity rehabilitation nursing model can provide continuous nursing services across hospitals,communities,and families for patients.AIM To explore the application of a hospital–community–family rehabilitation nursing model combined with motor imagery therapy in patients with cerebral infarction.METHODS From January 2021 to December 2021,88 patients with cerebral infarction were divided into a study(n=44)and a control(n=44)group using a simple random number table.The control group received routine nursing and motor imagery therapy.The study group was given hospital–community–family trinity rehabilitation nursing based on the control group.Motor function(FMA),balance ability(BBS),activities of daily living(BI),quality of life(SS-QOL),activation status of the contralateral primary sensorimotor cortical area to the affected side,and nursing satisfaction were evaluated before and after intervention in both groups.RESULTS Before intervention,FMA and BBS were similar(P>0.05).After 6 months’intervention,FMA and BBS were significantly higher in the study than in the control group(both P<0.05).Before intervention,BI and SS-QOL scores were not different between the study and control group(P>0.05).However,after 6months’intervention,BI and SS-QOL were higher in the study than in the control group(P<0.05).Before intervention,activation frequency and volume were similar between the study and the control group(P>0.05).After 6 months’intervention,the activation frequency and volume were higher in the study than in the control group(P<0.05).The reliability,empathy,reactivity,assurance,and tangibles scores for quality of nursing service were higher in the study than in the control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Combining a hospital–community–family trinity rehabilitation nursing model and motor imagery therapy enhances the motor function and balance ability of patients with cerebral infarction,improving their quality of life.

Evidence-based Care for Rehabilitation Nursing Effect of Patients with Patellar Fracture

Objective.To analyze the effect of applying evidence-based care in rehabilitation nursing effect of patients with patellar fractures.Methods.A total of 54 patients with patellar fractures were randomly selected from the hospital.The diagnosis and treatment time were from the beginning of July 2018 to end of June 2019.The digital table grouping was adopted to divide patients into two groups with each group consists of 27 patients with this disease.Both groups underwent routine nursing and the experimental group with increased evidence-based care.Results.Compared with the control group,the knee function evaluation,complications and nursing satisfaction of the experimental group were more ideal,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion.Evidence-based care in rehabilitation nursing of patients with patellar fracture can obtain ideal nursing effect.

Application Analysis of Cardiac Rehabilitation Nursing in Patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction

Objective: Application analysis of cardiac rehabilitation in patients with acute myocardial infarction. Methods: A total of 102 patients with acute myocardial infarction admitted to our hospital from January 2020 to January 2022 were retrospectively selected as the observation objects. According to the nursing measures taken, they were divided into a control group and an observation group, with 51 cases in each group. A total of 51 patients in the control group received routine nursing, while 51 patients in the observation group were guided to actively participate in the cardiac rehabilitation nursing plan. The hospitalization conditions and effects of the two groups were compared. Results: The cardiac function index, bed time, hospitalization time, anxiety score and depression score of the observation group were significantly better than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P Conclusion: The application of cardiac rehabilitation nursing in patients with acute myocardial infarction has a good effect. The patients’ cardiac function recovers faster, they feel more comfortable, and they also reduce the time of hospitalization and bed rest, which is conducive to improving the psychological and anxiety state of patients and improving the quality of life.

Application Value of Evidence-Based Nursing in the Perioperative Care of Ankle Fracture Patients

Objective:To analyze the value of applying evidence-based nursing in the perioperative care of patients with ankle fractures and propose corresponding measures to improve the quality of patient care.Methods:The study started in May 2022 and was terminated in March 2023.During this period,50 patients with ankle fractures treated by our hospital were selected as research subjects.They were divided into a control group and a research group.The control group had 25 patients who received routine care,and the research group had 25 who received evidence-based care.The nursing effects of the two groups were observed and compared.Results:The pain scores,quality of life,incidence of adverse reactions,and nursing satisfaction of patients in the research group were all significantly better than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Evidence-based nursing can effectively improve the quality of care,reduce the risk of adverse reactions,and promote patient recovery,so it is suitable for clinical implementation.

Optimization of nursing interventions for postoperative mental status recovery in patients with cerebral hemorrhage

BACKGROUND Hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage(HCH),the most common chronic diseases,has become a topic of global public health discussions.AIM To investigate the role of rehabilitative nursing interventions in optimizing the postoperative mental status recovery phase and to provide clinical value for future rehabilitation of patients with HCH.METHODS This randomized controlled study included 120 patients with cerebral HCH who were contained to our neurosurgery department between May 2021–May 2023 as the participants.The participants have randomly sampled and grouped into the observation and control groups.The observation group received the rehabilitation nursing model,whereas the control group have given conventional nursing.The conscious state of the patients was assessed at 7,14,21,and 30 d postoperatively.After one month of care,sleep quality,anxiety,and depression were compared between the two groups.Patient and family satisfaction were assessed using a nursing care model.RESULTS The results showed that the state of consciousness scores of the patients in both groups significantly increased(P<0.05)after surgical treatment.From the 14th day onwards,differences in the state of consciousness scores between the two groups of patients began to appear(P<0.05).After one month of care,the sleep quality,anxiety state,and depression state of patients were significantly better in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).Satisfaction with nursing care was higher in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION The rehabilitation nursing model has a more complete system compared to conventional nursing,which can effectively improve the postoperative quality of life of patients with cerebral hemorrhage and improve the efficiency of mental state recovery;however,further analysis and research are needed to provide more scientific evidence.

Information-motivation-behavioral guided nursing for stroke patients with pulmonary dysfunction:A randomized controlled trial

BACKGROUND Patients with stroke frequently experience pulmonary dysfunction.AIM To explore the effects of information-motivation-behavioral(IMB)skills modelbased nursing care on pulmonary function,blood gas indices,complication rates,and quality of life(QoL)in stroke patients with pulmonary dysfunction.METHODS We conducted a controlled study involving 120 stroke patients with pulmonary dysfunction.The control group received routine care,whereas the intervention group received IMB-model-based nursing care.Various parameters including pulmonary function,blood gas indices,complication rates,and QoL were assessed before and after the intervention.RESULTS Baseline data of the control and intervention groups were comparable.Post-intervention,the IMB model-based care group showed significant improvements in pulmonary function indicators,forced expiratory volume in 1 sec,forced vital capacity,and peak expiratory flow compared with the control group.Blood gas indices,such as arterial oxygen pressure and arterial oxygen saturation,increased significantly,and arterial carbon dioxide partial.pressure decreased significantly in the IMB model-based care group compared with the control group.The intervention group also had a lower complication rate(6.67%vs 23.33%)and higher QoL scores across all domains than the control group.CONCLUSION IMB model-based nursing care significantly enhanced pulmonary function,improved blood gas indices,reduced complication rates,and improved the QoL of stroke patients with pulmonary dysfunction.Further research is needed to validate these results and to assess the long-term efficacy and broader applicability of the model.
