Revitalization Design of Public Spaces in Old Residential Communities: a Case Study of Qingshanhu Community in Nanchang City

Public space is an important part of a dty and also a crucial carrier for public activities. During the urban development, the overall environmental quality of old residential communities has degraded gradually for the lack of maintenance and upgrading, its public spaces have failed to satisfy routine needs of residents. To remodel the vitality of public spaces in old residential communities, this paper based on the field investigation of Qingshanhu Community in Nanchang City explored the thoughts of revitalizing public spaces in old residential communities from the aspects of society and material environment, and put forward the strategies of designing vitality of public spaces in old residential communities.

Evaluation of Development Model of Community Residential Areas in a World Heritage Site:A Case Study of Wulingyuan Scenic Spot in Zhangjiajie

In order to provide suggestions of development model for residential areas in the Wuling mountainous area with changes in the industrial model brought about by tourism development, the evaluation model of the development modes of 8 local residential areas was constructed by using the ordering relation analysis method. It is concluded that Nanyuan Group belongs to relocation type;Shuijingya, Nanzhang, Miaota and Lijia groups are disentanglement type;Xiejia, Chazhang and Dengjia groups are control type. The study provides reference data for the community to balance the relationship between tourism development and traditional production and life, and has certain guiding significance for local community planning and development.

An Extended Fuzzy-DEMATEL System for Factor Analyses on Social Capital Selection in the Renovation of Old Residential Communities

China has been promoting the renovation of old residential communities vigorously.Due to the financial pressure of the government and the sustainability of the renovation of old residential communities,public-private partnerships(PPP)have already gained attention.The selection of social capital is key to improving the efficiency of the PPP model in renovating old residential communities.In order to determine the influencing factors of social capital selection in the renovation of old residential communities,this paper aims to find an effective approach and analyze these factors.In this paper,a fuzzy decision-making and trial evaluation laboratory(fuzzy-DEMATEL)technique is extended and amore suitable systemis developed for the selection of social capital using the existing group decisionmaking theory.In the first stage,grounded theory is used to extract the unabridged key influencing factors for social capital selection in the renovation of old residential communities.Secondly,by considering the impact of expert weights,the key influencing factors are identified.The interactions within these influencing factors are discussed and the credibility of the results is verified by sensitivity analysis.Finally,these key influencing factors are sorted by importance.Based on the results,the government should focus on a technical level,organizationalmanagement abilities,corporate reputation,credit status,etc.This study provides the government with a theoretical basis and a methodology for evaluating social capital selection.

Renovation of Outdoor Environment in Old Residential Communities Suitable for the Elderly against the Background of Population Aging

More old residential communities have become unsuitable for the elderly because of the aging of outdoor physical environment and functional degradation. This paper investigated behaviors and mental activities of the elderly, problems of outdoor environment in old residential communities, and proposed strategies for the renovation of old residential communities from the perspectives of outdoor environment, road, greening and public supporting facilities according to demands of the elderly on outdoor environment, so as to provide them a comfortable and reasonable outdoor environment.

Differences of Landscape Architecture between Residential Communities in North and South China

This paper reviewed basic definitions of residential community landscape,analyzed the differences between residential community landscapes in north and south China,and also the causes of landscape differences from the perspectives of climate,soil,vegetation species,water resources,historical and cultural background. Moreover,landscape design strategies suitable for actual conditions of China were put forward in terms of overall style,plant configuration,waterscape design,and construction details.

面向实施的老旧小区改造模式探索--基于低冲击开发理念的借鉴

In the era of stock planning,the renovation of old residential communities has become an important part of urban development in China.However,the renovation planning is difficult to implement.The paper points out three main factors that affect the implementation of old residential community renovation under the current system:complex property right structure,multiple stakeholders,and lack of funds.Based on the concept of Low Impact Development,and with minimizing the impact as the goal,the paper proposes a new mode for the renovation of old residential communities:through an analysis on property rights and interest game in old residential communities,and according to cost estimation,priority should be given to renovating the public elements that neither involve property rights or core interests nor require too many funds,including public space,roads,supporting facilities,etc.,with community management to be properly improved.In the end,with the renovation of Quanyechang Community of Wuhan City as an example,the paper concludes that this renovation mode can not only meet the urgent needs for renovation,but is also easy to implement.

城市住区公共服务设施与老年生活圈匹配规划研究

China entered an aging society in 1999 based on the United Nations’definition that an aging society is one where the population aged sixty and above accounts for more than 10 percent of the total population.Accordingly,community-based home care for older people has become a social trend and the main policy orientation of the urban elderly care service system.How to meet older people’s needs for living and caring services in urban residential areas is a major challenge for China to conduct urban redevelopment.This paper analyzes the supply-demand match of age-friendly public service facilities in communities based on the daily needs for public service facilities and the living circle characteristics of older people.Then it conducts an empirical study on typical residential communities in Suzhou and puts forward a hierarchical allocation strategy and improvement suggestions for age-friendly public service facilities in the self-sufficient community living circle,the near neighborhood living circle,and the urban expansion living circle.In addition,it proposes measures for improving the allocation of public service facilities in case communities in Suzhou through urban renewal.

Ocean energy applications for coastal communities with artificial intelligence–a state-of-the-art review

Ocean energy plays essential roles in reducing carbon emission and transforming towards carbon neutrality, with cleaner power production, whereas the vertical cascade ocean energy systems with spatiotemporal power supply characteristics might lead to fluctuated power frequency, disruptive disturbance and grid shock. Hybrid renewable energy dispatch, coordinated demand-side management, and electrical energy storages for grid ancillary services provision with different response time-durations are effective solutions to integrate ocean energy with stable and grid-friendly operation. This study is to review advanced ocean energy converters with thermodynamic, hydrodynamic, aerodynamic, and mechanical principles. Power supply characteristics from multi-diversified ocean energy resources are analysed, with intermittency, fluctuation, and spatiotemporal uneven distribution. Hybrid ocean energy storages with synergies are reviewed to overcome the intermittency and provide grid ancillary services, including pumped hydroelectric energy storage, ocean compressed air energy storage, and ocean hydrogen-based storage in different response time durations. Applications of diversified ocean energy systems for coastal residential communities are reviewed, with energy management and controls, collaboration on multi-carrier energy networks. Furthermore, application of artificial intelligence is reviewed for sustainable and smart ocean energy systems. Results indicated that, effective strategies for stable and gridfriendly operations mainly include complementary hybrid renewable system integrations, synergies on hybrid thermal/electrical storages, and collaboration on multi-carrier energy networks. Furthermore, depending on the geographical location, flexible on-shore and off-shore installation of transformers can provide large-scale ocean energy system integrations for long-distance transmission, with low transmission losses, low resistive losses, and simple system configuration. Research results can provide a heuristic overview on ocean energy integration in smart energy systems, providing alternatives for solar and wind energy resources and paving path for the carbonneutrality transition.
