Many researches show that vertical distribution of tidal flow Reynolds stress deviated from linear distribution. The parabolic distribution of the tidal flow Reynolds stress was proposed by Song et al. (2009). Although the model fills better with field observations and indoor experimental data, it has the lower truncated series expansion of tidal flow Reynolds stress, and the description of the distribution is not very comprehensive By introducing the motion equation of tidal flow and improving the parabolic distribution established by Song et al. (2009), the cubic distribution of the tidal flow Reynolds stress is proposed. The cubic distribution is verified well by field data (Bowden and Fairbairn, 1952; Bowden et al., 1959; Rippeth et al., 2002) and experimental data (Anwar and Atkins, 1980), is consistent with the numerical model results of Kuo et al. (1996), and is compared with the parabolic distribution of the tidal flow Reynolds stress. It is shown that this cubic distribution is not only better than the parabolic distribution, but also can better reflect the basic features of Reynolds stress deviating from linear distribution downward with the tidal flow acceleration and upward with the tidal flow deceleration, for the foundation of further study on the velocity profile of tidal flow.展开更多

Having been well verified with the field data and experimental data, the proposed distribution of Reynolds stress is also compared with numerical model results, and a good agreement is obtained, showing that this distribution can well reflect the basic features of Reynolds stress deviating from the linear distribution that is downward when the tidal flow is of acceleration, upward when the tidal flow is of deceleration. Its dynamics cause is also discussed preliminarily and the influence of the water depth is pointed out from the definition of Reynolds stress, turbulent generation, transmission, and so on. The established expression for the vertical distribution of the tidal flow Reynolds stress is not only simple and explicit, but can also well reflect the features of the tidal flow acceleration and deceleration for further study on the velocity profile of tidal flow.展开更多

However, the effect of APG on this outer peak is not clearly understood. In this paper, the effect of APG is analysed using the numerical and experimental results in the literature. Because the effect of upstream flow is inherent in the TBL, we first analyse this effect in TBLs with zero pressure gradient on flat plates. Under the individual effect of upstream flow, an outer peak already appears in the profile of streamwise Reynolds stress when the TBL continues developing in the streamwise direction. The APG accelerates the appearance of the outer peak, instead of being a trigger.展开更多

It avoids some problems appeared in a traditional explanation, on the basis of relationship between mean and fluctuating flows due to the transport of momentum. Through the analysis of local flow field in the immediate neighborhood of wall, the characteristics of Reynolds stress are identified through introducing turbulence-induced small-scale streamwise eddies above the flat plate. The positive Reynolds stress is theoretically verified. And such new interpretation illustrates that the generation of Reynolds stress, as well as fluctuating velocity, is intrinsically independent of the mean flow. But its specific sign would be determined by the mean flow due to the inertial forces. Other features, such as the intensity relationship among three components of fluctuating velocity, are also presented.展开更多

It includes zero empirical coefficients. The formula is validated with the direct numerical simulation (DNS) data of turbulent channel flow at Reτ=180. The Reynolds stresses given by the proposed formula agree very well with the DNS results. The good agreement persists even after the multi-angle rotation of the coordinate system, indicating the rotation in- variance of the formula. The autocorrelation of the fluctuating velocity rather than the mean strain rate is close to the essence of the Reynolds stress.展开更多

While focusing on the tide-induced and stratification's impact on mixing, the Reynolds stress and the turbulent kinetic energy (TKE) production rate were calculated using the ‘variance method'. In spring, the features of mixing mainly induced by tides were clear when the water column was well-mixed. Velocity shear and turbulent parameters intensified towards the seabed due to the bottom friction. The components of the velocity shear and the Reynolds stress displayed a dominant semi-diurnal variation related to velocity changes caused by the flood and ebb of M2 tide. Stratification occurred in summer, and the water column showed a strongly stratified pycnocline with a characteristic squared buoy- ancy frequency of N2~ (1-6)x 10 3 S-2 The components of the velocity shear and the Reynolds stress penetrated upwards very fast from the bottom boundary layer to the whole water column in spring, while in summer they only penetrated to the bottom of the pycnocline with a relatively slow propagation speed. In summer, the TKE production within the pycnocline was comparable with and sometimes larger than that in the well-mixed bottom layer under the pycnocline. Considering the associated high velocity shear, it is speculated that the mixing in the pycnocline is a result of the local velocity shear.展开更多

The...The effect of the positive bias on Reynolds stress (RS) and its effect on the radial turbulent transport at the edge plasma (r/a =0.9) and scrape-off layer (SOL) region of plasma in tokamak are investigated. The radial and poloidal electric fields (Sr, Ep) and ion saturation current (Is) are measured by multi-purpose probe (MPP). This probe is fabricated and constructed for the first time in the IR-T1 tokamak. The most advantage of this probe is that the variations of Er and Ep can be measured in different radii at the single shot. Thus the information of different radii can be compared with high precision. The bias voltage is fixed at Vbias = 200 V and it has been applied with the limiter bias that is fixed in r/a = 0.9. Moreover, the phase difference between radial and poloidal electric fields, and temporal evolution of the RS .spectrum detected by MPP are calculated. RS magnitude on the edge (r/a = 0.9) is more than its value in the SOL (r/a = 1.02). With the applied bias 200 V, ItS and the magnitude of the phase difference between Er and Ep are increased, while the radial turbulent transport is decreased simultaneously. Thus it can be concluded that RS affects radial turbulence. Temporal evolution of the RS spectrum shows that the frequency of RS is increased and reaches its highest value at r/a=0.9 in the presence of bias.展开更多

Monoamines and amino acids are important types of neurotransmitters. Our previous results have shown that disco-interacting protein 2 homolog A(Dip2a) knockout mice exhibit brain development disorders and abnormal amino acid metabolism in serum. This suggests that DIP2A is involved in the metabolism of amino acid–associated neurotransmitters. Therefore, we performed targeted neurotransmitter metabolomics analysis and found that Dip2a deficiency caused abnormal metabolism of tryptophan and thyroxine in the basolateral amygdala and medial prefrontal cortex. In addition, acute restraint stress induced a decrease in 5-hydroxytryptamine in the basolateral amygdala. Additionally, Dip2a was abundantly expressed in excitatory neurons of the basolateral amygdala, and deletion of Dip2a in these neurons resulted in hopelessness-like behavior in the tail suspension test. Altogether, these findings demonstrate that DIP2A in the basolateral amygdala may be involved in the regulation of stress susceptibility. This provides critical evidence implicating a role of DIP2A in affective disorders.展开更多

文摘With the rising of modern data science,data-driven turbulence modeling with the aid of machine learning algorithms is becoming a new promising field. Many approaches are able to achieve better Reynolds stress prediction, with much lower modeling error(∈_(M)),than traditional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS)models,but they still suffer from numerical error and stability issues when the mean velocity fields are estimated by solving RANS equations with the predicted Reynolds stresses. This fact illustrates that the error of solving the RANS equations(∈_(P))is also very important for a RANS simulation. In the present work, the error∈_(P)is studied separately by using the Reynolds stresses obtained from direct numerical simulation(DNS)/highly resolved large-eddy simulation to minimize the modeling error∈_(M),and the sources of∈_(P)are derived mathematically. For the implementations with known Reynolds stresses solely,we suggest to run an auxiliary RANS simulation to make a first guess onν_(t)^(*)and S_(ij)^(0).With around 10 iterations, the error of the streamwise velocity component could be reduced by about one-order of magnitude in flow over periodic hills. The present work is not to develop a new RANS model, but to clarify the facts that obtaining mean field with known Reynolds stresses is nontrivial and that the nonlinear part of the Reynolds stresses is very important in flow problems with separations. The proposed approach to reduce∈_(P)may be very useful for the a posteriori applications of the data-driven turbulence models.

文摘It is widely accepted that in a turbulent boundary layer (TBL) with adverse pressure gradient (APG) an outer peak usually appears in the profile of streamwise Reynolds stress. The APG accelerates the appearance of the outer peak, instead of being a trigger.

文摘The specific sign of Reynolds stress in the boundary layer on a flat plate at zero incidence is newly interpreted in present paper based on the theory of vortex-induced vortex. Other features, such as the intensity relationship among three components of fluctuating velocity, are also presented.

文摘During the two cruises in March and July of 2011, the tidal cycling of turbulent properties and the T/S profiles at the same location in seasonally stratified East China Sea (ECS) were measured synchronously by a bottom-mounted fast sampling ADCP (acoustic Doppler current profiler) and a RBR CTD (RBR-620) profiler. Considering the associated high velocity shear, it is speculated that the mixing in the pycnocline is a result of the local velocity shear.
文摘The effect of the positive bias on Reynolds stress (RS) and its effect on the radial turbulent transport at the edge plasma (r/a =0.9) and scrape-off layer (SOL) region of plasma in tokamak are investigated. Temporal evolution of the RS spectrum shows that the frequency of RS is increased and reaches its highest value at r/a=0.9 in the presence of bias.

文摘Understanding the mechanical properties of the lithologies is crucial to accurately determine the horizontal stress magnitude. To investigate the correlation between the rock mass properties and maximum horizontal stress, the three-dimensional(3D)stress tensors at 89 measuring points determined using an improved overcoring technique in nine mines in China were adopted,a newly defined characteristic parameter C_(ERP)was proposed as an indicator for evaluating the structural properties of rock masses, and a fuzzy relation matrix was established using the information distribution method. The results indicate that both the vertical stress and horizontal stress exhibit a good linear growth relationship with depth. There is no remarkable correlation between the elastic modulus,Poisson's ratio and depth, and the distribution of data points is scattered and messy. Moreover, there is no obvious relationship between the rock quality designation(RQD)and depth. The maximum horizontal stress σ_(H) is a function of rock properties, showing a certain linear relationship with the C_(ERP)at the same depth. In addition, the overall change trend of σ_(H) determined by the established fuzzy identification method is to increase with the increase of C_(ERP).The fuzzy identification method also demonstrates a relatively detailed local relationship betweenσ_H and C_(ERP),and the predicted curve rises in a fluctuating way, which is in accord well with the measured stress data.

文摘Dysregulation of neurotransmitter metabolism in the central nervous system contributes to mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, and post–traumatic stress disorder. This provides critical evidence implicating a role of DIP2A in affective disorders.
文摘Hearing loss is the third leading cause of human disability.Age-related hearing loss, one type of acquired sensorineural hearing loss,is largely responsible for this escalating global health burden.Noise-induced,ototoxic,and idiopathic sudden sensorineural are other less common types of acquired hearing loss. The etiology of these conditions is complex and multi-fa ctorial involving an interplay of genetic and environmental factors.Oxidative stress has recently been proposed as a likely linking cause in most types of acquired sensorineural hearing loss.Short non-coding RNA sequences known as microRNAs(miRNAs)have increasingly been shown to play a role in cellular hypoxia and oxidative stress responses including promoting an apoptotic response.Sensory hair cell death is a central histopathological finding in sensorineural hearing loss.As these cells do not regenerate in humans,it underlies the irreversibility of human age-related hearing loss.Ovid EMBASE,Ovid MEDLINE,Web of Science Core Collection, and ClinicalTrials.gov databases over the period August 1,2018 to July 31,2023 were searched with"hearing loss,""hypoxamiRs,""hypoxia,""microRNAs,""ischemia,"and"oxidative stress"text words for English language primary study publications or registered clinical trials.Registe red clinical trials known to the senior author we re also assessed.A total of 222studies were thus identified. After excluding duplicates, editorials, retra ctions, secondary research studies, and non-English language articles,39 primary studies and clinical trials underwent full-text screening. This resulted in 11 animal,in vitro,and/or human subject journal articles and 8 registered clinical trial database entries which form the basis of this narrative review.MiRNAs miR-34a and miR-29b levels increase with age in mice. These miRNAs were demonstrated in human neuroblastoma and murine cochlear cell lines to target Sirtuin 1/peroxisome proliferato r-activated receptor gamma coactivator-1-alpha(SIRT1/P GC-1α),SIRT1p53,and SIRT1/hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha signaling pathways resulting in increased apoptosis.Furthermore, hypoxia and oxidative stress had a similar adve rse apoptotic effect, which was inhibited by resve ratrol and a myocardial inhibitorassociated transcript,a miR-29b competing endogenous mRNA.Gentamicin reduced miR-182-5p levels and increased cochlear oxidative stress and cell death in mice-an effect that was corrected by inner ear stem cell-derived exosomes. There is ongoing work seeking to determine if these findings can be effectively translated to humans.

文摘High spatial resolution measurements of the electrostatic Reynolds stress, radial electric field and poloidal phase velocity of fluctuations in the edge region of the HT-6M tokamak are carried out.The Reynolds stress shows a radial gradient in proximity to the poloidal velocity shear.A comparison of the profiles between the Reynolds stress gradient and the poloidal velocity damping reveals some similarity in their magnitude and radial structure. These facts suggest that the turbulence-induced Reynolds stress may play a significant role in generating the poloidal flow in the plasma edge region.
