This thesis analyzes English-Chinese lyric translation by the illustrations of Michael Jackson's works based on the references of "equivalent theory", during which Nida's arguments about equivalence will be employed. The thesis indicates the important roles which"cultural context"and"personal background"play in the process of lyric translation. With the citing examples of Michael Jackson's works, this thesis demonstrates the significance of the match of the translated text and the music and the rhythm, and tries to give a better version of lyric translation. The purpose of this thesis is to seek the possibility of the equal performance effect of English-Chinese lyric translation.展开更多
