In the new era,the Communist Party of China(CPC)has made historic achievements in respecting and protecting human rights.Building upon the principle of the“two integrations”(integrating the basic tenets of Marxism with China’s specific realities and fine traditional culture),it has nurtured new theories on respecting and protecting human rights in the new era,which can address the fundamental questions of whom and what the human rights protection efforts in the new era are for.Guided by the principle of“taking our own path,”it has charted a distinct course for the development of human rights,diverging from the Western approach.The CPC has maintained the unity between Party leadership and the respect for and protection of human rights,promoting progress in human rights through the pursuit of“high-quality development,”and ensuring various fundamental rights of the people through the rule of law.Building upon the past experience,the CPC has established the“source”of the institutional framework for respecting and protecting human rights in the new era,crafted the“body”of this institutional framework,and introduced its practical“application.”In promoting the comprehensive advancement of human rights protection,the CPC has facilitated the connotative development of human rights protection in China,empowering China in international human rights discourse,and contributing Chinese strength and wisdom to global human rights governance.

Achievements and future work of oil and gas production engineering of CNPC

This paper summarizes the latest achievements and technological progress in oil and gas production engineering of China National Petroleum Corporation(CNPC) and discusses the main four challenges faced: developing low quality resource at low oil price; keeping stable production of mature oilfields when well oil production drops year by year; low systematic efficiency, high cost, prominent environmental protection issue and short of technological strategy for high water cut ratio and high oil recovery ratio oilfields; and lacking of high level horizontal well drilling and completion technology to develop unconventional and deep reservoirs. Three technological development directions to address these challenges are put forward: developing fracture controlling stimulation and well factory to produce low quality resource economically, developing re-fracturing technology for old wells in mature oilfields, promoting the fourth generation separate layer water injection technology to stabilize the production of mature oilfields; innovating new technologies of water flooding with nano-material, injecting and producing through one well.

Theoretical Model on Transformation Factors of Scientific and Technological Achievements under the Belt and Road Initiative

With the continuous deepening of the Belt and Road Initiative,the countries involved are increasingly connected in the field of science and technology.Based on the transformation theory of scientific and technological(S&T)achievements,this study establishes a theoretical model of transformation factors of S&T achievements under the Belt and Road Initiative.Combined with the data analysis from questionnaire,it is found that in S&T achievements transformation process,there is a significant positive correlation between the innovation factors and the transfer factors,between the transfer factors and the diffusion factors,and between the diffusion factors and the transformation results.These conclusions provide reference for the subsequent S&T achievements transformation activities under the Belt and Road Initiative.Therefore,in the process of promoting the transformation of S&T achievements under the Belt and Road Initiative in the future,innovation factors such as information innovation,service innovation,and cooperative innovation should be fully reflected.Relevant agencies should take the transfer factors of S&T achievements as guidance;promote and apply the results of incubation through diffusion media and diffusion channels.

Recent advance in study of K-Pg boundary in Jiayin of Heilongjiang,China and its adjacent area

The non-marine Cretaceous-Paleogene boundary(KPgB)in Jiayin of Heilongjiang was first defined and reported in China by the authors research team in 2011.Thereafter the continuous research on the KPgB and its related Late Cretaceous biota in Jiayin has been made by the authors in 2012-2020.The achievements of the research are mainly reflected as follows:(1)a new drilling borehole with 60 m in depth carried out in the Xiaoheyan of Jiayin in 2016,supplemented new palynological evidence for the KPgB definition in 2011;(2)some radiometric dating newly made on the strata related to the KPgB in Jiayin and its neighboring Russian area,provided the supplemental evidence for the KPgB definition in Jiayin;(3)many new fossils found by the authors,represented by the angiosperms Dalembia and Nelumbo,refresh understanding the Late Cretaceous environment of Jiayin;and(4)the TEM method is applied in the study of pollen exine ultrastructure of Pseudointegricorpus,Wodehouseia,and Aquilapollenites,promoting the late Maastrichtian ecological study in Jiayin,related to the KPgB.

Study on Language Harmony in China:Achievements,Deficiency and Prospect

Language harmony means that different languages and their dialects can coexist in harmony in the same society.It is not only a linguistic issue,but also a social phenomenon.As an independent branch of language study in China,language harmony study covers the following topics:The value of language harmony,the types of language harmony,the factors that affect language harmony,the construction path of language harmony,etc.The main research methods include:case study,a combination of synchronic and diachronic research and multidisciplinary research.Statistics results of relevant studies of language harmony in China show that,in the past fifteen years,the study of language harmony in China has grown and presents the following characteristics:The results are mainly papers(206 papers)and a few monographs(6 books);the initial stage is dominated by theoretical discussions;subsequently,the case study is in a dominant position;there are more case studies than theoretical studies in total;case study results focus on a few topics;case studies are still the current focus of study;the total number of results has shown a decreasing trend after 2008.Despite these recent findings,case studies of language harmony in China lack width and profundity,and its theoretical discussion still needs to be deepened and improved.

The recent disciplinal progresses of agricultural entomology in China

In this paper, four recent advances and achievements of China in agricultural insect research, namely, on the genome of silkworm (Bombyx mori Linnaeus), on the geographical differentiation and regional migration of cotton bollworm (Helicoverpa armigera (Hübner)), on the standardized monitoring techniques for safety of honey bee (Apis mellifera Linnaeus) products, and on the virus transmission property of small brown planthopper (Laodelphax striatellus (Fallén)) as well as the interactions between vector and rice stripe virus (RSV), were reported. All of these researches are very important for controlling agricultural insect pests and the diseases they transmit, accelerating the molecular biological research of silkworm, and promoting the international trade of honey bee products. Most of these achievements mentioned above have got the national, provincial, ministerial or municipal awards on science and technology.
