To improve the control efficiency of Superconducting Electron Cyclotron Resonance Ion source (SECRAL) forHeavy Ion Research Facility in Lanzhou (HIRFL), a upgrade version of control system for SECRAL system wasdesigned and set up in September 2014. The control software package is developed by Visual C++, which is ableto control and monitor all of the equipment for the SECRAL system with about 130 parameters. The previousanalog powers are discarded and four digital high powers are used newly at high voltage platform, which containtwo stove powers, a bias voltage power, and a sputter power. Moreover, four servo motors are added newly, whichcontain work gas, support gas, bias voltage, and sputter voltage. Reflecting vacuum value picturesquely, we plot agraph of inject vacuum, elicit vacuum, and beam vacuum against time. In order to prevent the misoperation whichmay cause the quench of the superconducting magnet, alarm and interlock-protection functions are added to thesoftware and hardware. Simultaneously, added stretch buttons are able to void accidental on-click that might bringabout serious outcome. 展开更多

SECRAL-II is a third generation fully superconducting ECRIS(electron cyclotron resonance ion source)and nearly a duplicated one of SECRAL(superconducting electron cyclotron resonance ion source with advanced design in Lanzhou).They have the same magnet structure locating the axial solenoid coils inside the radial sextupole magnet.Compared with SECRAL,SECRAL-II has a slightly higher radial field and a larger plasma chamber,which makes it suitable for operation at 28 GHz.Meanwhile,the cryogenic system of SECRAL-II was built with integrated LHe recondensation cryogenic system and operated with 5 GM cryocoolers that are capable of providing a dynamic cooling capacity of more than 5 W to the 4.2 K reservoir.The main parameters of SECRAL-II are shown in Table 1. 展开更多

To improve the accuracy and usability of the superconducting electron cyclotron resonance ion source with advanced design in Lanzhou(SECRAL), an upgraded version of the control system was designed and tested. This paper details the architecture of the optimized control system and presents the results of its use in the long-term operation of the accelerator. The control system software, based on Visual C++, was developed following the model-view-controller architecture design pattern. The data acquisition system was based on a field-programmable gate array integrated circuit. In addition, control strategies were optimized for higher operational stability. The upgraded control system was tested with a U^(33+) ion beam at SECRAL, where it provided a data acquisition time of less than 1 ms. The fast reaction time and highprecision data processing during beam tuning verified the stability and maintainability of the control system. 展开更多

超导离子源(SECRAL)的超导磁铁电源的控制非常重要。为防止超导磁铁的失超,需要对超导磁铁电源采用恰当的策略进行控制。在SECRAL系统中,4台电源分别为4个超导线圈独立供电,供电的电流大小不同,电流上升和下降的速率也不同。4个线圈的... 超导离子源(SECRAL)的超导磁铁电源的控制非常重要。为防止超导磁铁的失超,需要对超导磁铁电源采用恰当的策略进行控制。在SECRAL系统中,4台电源分别为4个超导线圈独立供电,供电的电流大小不同,电流上升和下降的速率也不同。4个线圈的电流不平衡,将导致整个超导磁铁失超,所以超导线圈的电流上升和下降过程必须协同完成。为了提升磁铁电源的安全性和稳定性,设计并实现了一个远程控制系统。在硬件方面使用串口通讯服务器实现TCP/IP网络通讯与RS232串行通讯间的协议转换。软件使用VC++直接对串口编程完成。该系统能够自动完成4台电源的同步操作,简化了超导离子源SECRAL的调试过程,提高了操作过程中的安全性。 展开更多

超导电子回旋共振离子源II(Superconducting Electron Cyclotron Resonance ion source with Advanced design in Lanzhou-II,SECRAL-II)控制系统采用实验物理与工业控制系统(Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System,EPICS... 超导电子回旋共振离子源II(Superconducting Electron Cyclotron Resonance ion source with Advanced design in Lanzhou-II,SECRAL-II)控制系统采用实验物理与工业控制系统(Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System,EPICS)架构,其中数据归档子系统主要用来存储离子源电源、真空、束诊、水压等数据,便于技术人员进行在线和离线数据分析,是其控制系统的重要组成部分。EPICS自带的Channel Archiver存储格式固定,无法满足用户的实际使用需求。使用C#实现了EPICS架构下变量(Process Variable,PV)历史数据的存储功能,结合Oracle数据库技术,使得在存储PV变量的策略上可以更加灵活控制。同时,实现了基于超文本预处理器(Hypertext Preprocessor,PHP)的文件管理系统,用于历史数据文件的管理。测试及运行结果表明系统可以很好地满足研究人员对于历史数据的归档要求和研究需求。 展开更多

A Superconducting ECR ion source with Advanced design in Lanzhou (SECRAL) was successfully built to produce intense beams of highly charged ions for Heavy Ion Research Facility in Lanzhou (HIRFL).The ion source ha... A Superconducting ECR ion source with Advanced design in Lanzhou (SECRAL) was successfully built to produce intense beams of highly charged ions for Heavy Ion Research Facility in Lanzhou (HIRFL).The ion source has been optimized to be operated at 28GHz for its maximum performance.The superconducting magnet confinement configuration of the ion source consists of three axial solenoid coils and six sextupole coils with a cold iron structure as field booster and clamping.For 28GHz operation,the magnet assembly can produce peak mirror fields on axis 3.6T at injection,2.2T at extraction and a radial sextupole field of 2.0T at plasma chamber wall.A unique feature of SECRAL is that the three axial solenoid coils are located inside of the sextupole bore in order to reduce the interaction forces between the sextupole coils and the solenoid coils. During the ongoing commissioning phase at 18GHz with a stainless steel chamber,tests with various gases and some metals have been conducted with microwave power less than 3.2kW and it turned out the performance is very promising.Some record ion beam intensities have been produced,for instance,810eμA of O<sup>7+</sup>,505eμA of Xe<sup>20+</sup>,306eμA of Xe<sup>27+</sup>,21eμA of Xe<sup>34+</sup>,2.4eμA of Xe<sup>38+</sup> and so on.To reach better results for highly charged ion beams,further modifications such as an aluminium chamber with better cooling,higher microwave power and a movable extraction system will be done,and also emittance measurements are being prepared. 展开更多
