Response analysis based on smallest interval-set of parameters for structures with uncertainty

An integral analytic process from quantification to propagation based on limited uncertain parameters is investigated to deal with practical engineering problems. A new method by use of the smallest interval-set/hyper-rectangle containing all exper- imental data is proposed to quantify the parameter uncertainties. With the smallest parameter interval-set, the uncertainty sponse and the least favorable response propagation evaluation of the most favorable re- of the structures is studied based on the interval analysis. The relationship between the proposed interval analysis method （IAM） and the classical IAM is discussed. Two numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the feasibility and validity of the proposed method.

Towards a Smallest Scale of Context in Ontology Integration

In order to solve the ambiguity problems in the semantic context （structure, granularity or scale） emerging in the process of ontology integration application, this paper analyzes the essential characters of context structure, proposes a novel semantic context generating algorithm, which is implemented over VO-Editor（visual ontology editor）, from the satisfiability-based point of view, and proves that the context entity generated by this algorithm is smallest in scale and unique. It offers a feasible means for developers to handle context problems for ontology integration application.

Comprehensive Evaluation on the Agricultural Sustainable Development with the Smallest Generalized Deviation

Evaluation index system of agricultural sustainable development is constructed with the four components of social index,agricultural economic index,resources index,and environment index.According to the comprehensive evaluation model of agricultural sustainable development with the participation of single person,comprehensive evaluation model of agricultural sustainable development with the smallest generalized deviation and the participation of many people is established.Based on the case studies,agricultural sustainable development status of a certain region is evaluated.Result shows that the evaluation scores of the social index and agricultural economic index are high in this region,but the score of resources index is general and the evaluation result of environment index is not very good.The comprehensive evaluation value of overall sustainable development is 0.665 5;and the evaluation result is "good".

The determination of the link with the smallest end-to-end network latency in ethernet architecture

Ethernet fundamental and its data transmission model are introduced in brief and end-to-end network latency was analyzed in this paper. On the premise of not considering transmission quality and transmission cost, latency was the function of the rest of network resource parameter (NRP). The relation between the number of nodes and that of end-to-end links was presented. In ethernet architecture, the algorithm to determine the link with the smallest latency is a polynomial issue when the number of network nodes is limited, so it can be solved by way of polynomial equations. Latency measuring is the key issue to determine the link with the smallest network latency. 3-node brigade (regiment) level network centric warfare (NCW) demonstration platform was studied and the latency between the detectors and weapon control stations was taken as an example. The algorithm of end-to-end network latency and link information in NCW was presented. The algorithm program based on Server/Client architecture was developed. The data transmission optimal link is one whose end-to-end latency is the smallest. This paper solves the key issue to determine the link whose end-to-end latency is the smallest in ethernet architecture. The study can be widely applied to determine the optimal link which is in the complex network environment of multiple service provision points.

Then we prove: 1 ) a distributive lattice L possesses the smallest set of generating elements if and only if the Stone space (L) of L possesses a smallest base constructed by strong open sets; 2) a Bollean lattice B possesses the smallest set of generating elements if and only if B is a finite Boolean lattice.

The Editor in Chief has retracted this article.After publication,concerns were raised over potentially inconsistent data-for example,the author mentioned residual soil with silt fraction,but Fig.5 shows even the smallest grains are beyond silt grains.Further analysis showed that Fig.6 and Fig.9 show both loose and dense soils exhibiting very similar dilatance behaviour,which is not typical.The author shared raw data,but it was incomplete and could not be verified.The Editor in Chief,therefore,has lost confidence in the findings of this article.The author does not agree to this retraction.

大长径比弹体非接触合膛测量方法研究

大长径比弹体机械合膛存在机械损伤,且难以实现竖式测量,为解决以上问题,提出一种非接触卧式合膛测量方法。该方法通过线激光测量仪对弹体局部轮廓进行数据采集,采用最小二乘法对弹体多段轮廓数据拟合,基于拟合的圆心和已知半径构造完整圆轮廓数据,最后采用最远点优先渐进算法对多段定心部构造点进行最小包容圆计算,实现弹体在线卧式测量。对测量装置的原理、方法及组成进行了说明,并对设备的测量误差进行了分析与修正。试验结果表明,采用卧式测量方式,重复定位精度达±0.06 mm,能够满足合膛测量要求。

An Efficient Inexact Newton-CG Algorithm for the Smallest Enclosing Ball Problem of Large Dimensions

In this paper,we consider the problem of computing the smallest enclosing ball(SEB)of a set of m balls in Rn,where the product mn is large.We first approximate the non-differentiable SEB problem by its log-exponential aggregation function and then propose a computationally efficient inexact Newton-CG algorithm for the smoothing approximation problem by exploiting its special(approximate)sparsity structure.The key difference between the proposed inexact Newton-CG algorithm and the classical Newton-CG algorithm is that the gradient and the Hessian-vector product are inexactly computed in the proposed algorithm,which makes it capable of solving the large-scale SEB problem.We give an adaptive criterion of inexactly computing the gradient/Hessian and establish global convergence of the proposed algorithm.We illustrate the efficiency of the proposed algorithm by using the classical Newton-CG algorithm as well as the algorithm from Zhou et al.(Comput Optim Appl 30:147–160,2005)as benchmarks.

Optical spectroscopy is a versatile characterization technique for a wide range of applications.Developing miniaturized spectrometers is the trend for applications in which small footprint takes precedence over high resolution.However,development of micro-spectrometers based on miniaturized or integrated optics is approaching a bottleneck toward submillimeter scales because of the inherent scale limitation of their optical components or path lengths.Although these constraints can be circumvented with computational spectral reconstruction by addressing a full range of spectral components simultaneously at multiple detectors,complex millimeter-scale arrays of individually prepared filters arranged over charge-coupled device or complementary metal-oxide semiconductor detectors are difficult to be miniaturized.
