文摘The function of solid electrolytes and the composition of solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)are highly significant for inhibiting the growth of Li dendrites.Herein,we report an in-situ interfacial passivation combined with self-adaptability strategy to reinforce Li_(0.33)La_(0.557)TiO_(3)(LLTO)-based solid-state batteries.Specifically,a functional SEI enriched with LiF/Li_(3)PO_(4) is formed by in-situ electrochemical conversion, which is greatly beneficial to improving interface compatibility and enhancing ion transport. While the polarized dielectric BaTiO_(3)-polyamic acid(BTO-PAA,BP)film greatly improves the Li-ion transport kinetics and homogenizes the Li deposition. As expected, the resulting electrolyte offers considerable ionic conductivity at room temperature(4.3 x 10~(-4)S cm^(-1))and appreciable electrochemical decomposition voltage(5.23 V)after electrochemical passivation. For Li-LiFePO_(4) batteries,it shows a high specific capacity of 153 mA h g^(-1)at 0.2C after 100 cycles and a long-term durability of 115 mA h g^(-1)at 1.0 C after 800 cycles.Additionally,a stable Li plating/stripping can be achieved for more than 900 h at 0.5 mA cm^(-2).The stabilization mechanisms are elucidated by ex-situ XRD,ex-situ XPS,and ex-situ FTIR techniques, and the corresponding results reveal that the interfacial passivation combined with polarization effect is an effective strategy for improving the electrochemical performance. The present study provides a deeper insight into the dynamic adjustment of electrode-electrolyte interfacial for solid-state lithium batteries.

文摘Solid-state electrolyte Li_(10)GeP_(2)S_(12)(LGPS)has a high lithium ion conductivity of 12 mS cm^(-1)at room temperature, but its inferior chemical stability against lithium metal anode impedes its practical application.Among all solutions,Ge atom substitution of the solid-state electrolyte LGPS stands out as the most promising solution to this interface problem.A systematic screening framework for Ge atom substitution including ionic conductivity, thermodynamic stability, electronic and mechanical properties is utilized to solve it.For fast screening,an enhanced model Dop Net FC using chemical formulas for the dataset is adopted to predict ionic conductivity.Finally,Li_(10)SrP_(2)S_(12)(LSrPS)is screened out, which has high lithium ion conductivity(12.58 mS cm^(-1)).In addition,an enhanced migration of lithium ion across the LSr PS/Li interface is found.Meanwhile, compared to the LGPS/Li interface,LSrPS/Li interface exhibits a larger Schottky barrier(0.134 eV),smaller electron transfer region(3.103?),and enhanced ability to block additional electrons, all of which contribute to the stabilized interface. The applied theoretical atom substitution screening framework with the aid of machine learning can be extended to rapid determination of modified specific material schemes.
文摘Nitrogen-14(^(14)N)overtone(OT)spectroscopy under fast magic angle spinning(MAS)conditions(>60 kHz)has emerged as a powerful technique for observing correlations and distances between ^(14)N and ^(1)H,owing to the absence of the first-order quadrupolar broadenings. In addition,^(14)N^(OT) allows selective manipulation of ^(14)N nuclei for each site.Despite extensive theoretical and experimental studies, the spin dynamics of ^(14)N^(OT) remains under debate. In this study,we conducted experimental investigations to assess the spin dynamics of ^(14)N^(OT) using the rotational-echo saturation-pulse double-resonance(RESPDOR)sequence,which monitors population transfer induced by a^(14)N^(OT) pulse. The ^(14)N^(OT) spin dynamics is well represented by a model of a two-energy-level system.Unlike spin-1/2,the maximum excitation efficiency of ^(14)N^(OT) coherences of powdered solids, denoted by p,depends on the radiofrequency field(rf-field)strength due to orientation dependence of effective nutation fields even when pulse lengths are optimized. It is also found that the p factor, contributing to the ^(14)N^(OT) spin dynamics,is nearly independent of the B0 field.Consequently, the filtering efficiency of RESPDOR experiments exhibits negligible dependence on B0 when the ^(14)N^(OT) pulse length is optimized. The study also identifies the optimal experimental conditions for ^(14)N^(OT)/^(1)H RESPDOR correlation experiments.

文摘Despite the enormous interest in inorganic/polymer composite solid-state electrolytes(CSEs)for solid-state batteries(SSBs),the underlying ion transport phenomena in CSEs have not yet been elucidated. Here,we address this issue by formulating a mechanistic understanding of bi-percolating ion channels formation and ion conduction across inorganic-polymer electrolyte interfaces in CSEs.A model CSE is composed of argyrodite-type Li_6PS_5Cl(LPSCl)and gel polymer electrolyte(GPE,including Li~+-glyme complex as an ion-conducting medium). The percolation threshold of the LPSCl phase in the CSE strongly depends on the elasticity of the GPE phase.Additionally, manipulating the solvation/desolvation behavior of the Li~+-glyme complex in the GPE facilitates ion conduction across the LPSCl-GPE interface. The resulting scalable CSE(area=8×6(cm×cm),thickness~40μm)can be assembled with a high-mass-loading LiNi_(0.7)Co_(0.15)Mn_(0.15)O_(2)cathode(areal-mass-loading=39 mg cm~(-2))and a graphite anode(negative(N)/positive(P)capacity ratio=1.1)in order to fabricate an SSB full cell with bi-cell configuration.Under this constrained cell condition, the SSB full cell exhibits high volumetric energy density(480 Wh L_(cell)~(-1))and stable cyclability at 25℃,far exceeding the values reported by previous CSE-based SSBs.

文摘A solid-state electrolyte(SSE),which is a solid ionic conductor and electroninsulating material,is known to play a crucial role in adapting a lithium metal anode to a high-capacity cathode in a solid-state battery.Among the various SSEs,the single Li-ion conductor has advantages in terms of enhancing the ion conductivity, eliminating interfacial side reactions, and broadening the electrochemical window.Covalent organic frameworks(COFs)are optimal platforms for achieving single Li-ion conduction behavior because of wellordered one-dimensional channels and precise chemical modification features.Herein,we study in depth three types of Li-carboxylate COFs(denoted LiOOC-COFn,n=1,2,and 3)as single Li-ion conducting SSEs.Benefiting from well-ordered directional ion channels, the single Li-ion conductor LiOOC-COF3 shows an exceptional ion conductivity of 1.36×10^(-5) S cm^(-1) at room temperature and a high transference number of 0.91.Moreover,it shows excellent electrochemical performance with long-term cycling,high-capacity output, and no dendrites in the quasi-solid-state organic battery, with the organic small molecule cyclohexanehexone(C_(6)O_(6))as the cathode and the Li metal as the anode, and enables effectively avoiding dissolution of the organic electrode by the liquid electrolyte.

文摘Solid-state lithium batteries(SSLBs)solve safety issues and are potentially energy-dense alternatives to next-generation energy storage systems.Battery green recycling routes are responsible for the widespread use of SSLBs due to minimizing environmental contamination, reducing production costs, and providing a sustainable solution for resources,e.g.,saving rare earth elements(La,Ta,etc.).Herein,a solid-state recycling strategy is proposed to achieve green recycling of the crucial component solidstate electrolytes(SSEs)in spent SSLBs.The short-circuited garnet Li_(6.5)La_(3)Zr_(1.5)Ta_(0.5)O_(12)(LLZTO)is broken into fine particles and mixed with fresh particles to improve sintering activity and achieve high packing density. The continuous Li absorption process promotes sufficient grain fusion and guarantees the transformation from tetragonal phase to pure cubic phase for high-performance recycled LLZTO.The Li-ion conductivity reaches 5.80×10^(-4)S cm-1with a relative density of 95.9%.Symmetric Li cell with asrecycled LLZTO shows long-term cycling stability for 700 h at 0.3 mA cm^(-2)without any voltage hysteresis.Full cell exhibits an excellent cycling performance with a discharge capacity of 141.5 mA h g^(-1)and a capacity retention of 92.1%after 400 cycles(0.2C).This work develops an environmentally friendly and economically controllable strategy to recycle SSE from spent SSLBs,guiding future directions of SSLBs large-scale industrial application and green recycling study.

文摘With the emergence of some solid electrolytes(SSEs)with high ionic conductivity being comparable to liquid electrolytes,solid-state lithium-sulfur batteries(SSLSBs)have been widely regarded as one of the most promising candidates for the next generation of power generation energy storage batteries, and have been extensively researched.Though many fundamental and technological issues still need to be resolved to develop commercially viable technologies,SSLSBs using SSEs are expected to address the present limitations and achieve high energy and power density while improving safety, which is very attractive to large-scale energy storage systems.SSLSBs have been developed for many years. However, there are few systematic discussions related to the working mechanism of action of various electrolytes in SSLSBs and the defects and the corresponding solutions of various electrolytes. To fill this gap,it is very meaningful to review the recent progress of SSEs in SSLSBs.In this review,we comprehensively investigate and summarize the application of SSEs in LSBs to determine the differences which still exist between current progresses and real-world requirements, and comprehensively describe the mechanism of action of SSLSBs,including lithium-ion transport, interfacial contact, and catalytic conversion mechanisms.More importantly, the selection of solid electrolyte materials and the novel design of structures are reviewed and the properties of various SSEs are elucidated. Finally, the prospects and possible future research directions of SSLSBs including designing high electronic/ionic conductivity for cathodes, optimizing electrolytes and developing novel electrolytes with excellent properties, improving electrode/-electrolyte interface stability and enhancing interfacial dynamics between electrolyte and anode, using more advanced test equipment and characterization techniques to analyze conduction mechanism of Li^(+)in SSEs are presented. It is hoped that this review can arouse people’s attention and enlighten the development of functional materials and novel structures of SSEs in the next step.

文摘All-solid-state electrolytes are exceedingly attractive because of the outstanding inherent safety and energy density compared to liquid electrolytes.Whereas,it is still formidable to simultaneously design solid electrolytes with favorable electrode/electrolyte interface compatibility and high ionic conductivity in a simple and scalable manner.Hence, the oxygen-vacancy-rich Gd-doped SnO_(2) nanotubes(GDS NTs)are innovatively prepared and applied to the electrolyte of all-solid-state lithium metal batteries for the first time. The addition of GDS NTs can validly construct long-range co ntinuous ion transport networks in the poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO)-based system and greatly improve the mechanical properties of the electrolyte.Compared to the PEO-based electrolyte, the composite electrolyte displays a higher lithium ion conductivity of 2.41×10^(-4) S cm^(-1) at 30℃,a higher lithium ion transference number up to 0.62 and a wider electrochemical window of 5 V at 50℃.In addition, the composite electrolyte manifests outstanding compatibility with high-voltage LiNi_(0.8)Mn_(0.1)Co_(0.1)O_(2)(NMC811)cathode,LiFePO4 cathode and lithium metal anode. The assembled Li/Li symmetric battery exhibits stable Li plating/stripping cycling performance, which can cycle steadily for 1500 h at a capacity of 0.3 mA h cm^(-2).And Li/LiFePO4 battery still maintains a high capacity of 131.54 mA h g^(-1) at 0.5C after 800 cycles, which has a superior capacity retention rate of 93.2%.The obtained novel composite electrolyte has promising application prospects in the field of all-solid-state lithium metal cells.

文摘Li-air batteries have attracted extensive attention because of their ultrahigh theoretical energy density. However, the potential safety hazard of flammable organic liquid electrolytes hinders their practical applications. Replacing liquid electrolytes with solidstate electrolytes(SSEs) is expected to fundamentally overcome the safety issues. In this work, we focus on the development and challenge of solid-state Li-air batteries(SSLABs). The rise of different types of SSEs, interfacial compatibility and verifiability in SSLABs are presented. The corresponding strategies and prospects of SSLABs are also proposed. In particular, combining machine learning method with experiment and in situ(or operando)techniques is imperative to accelerate the development of SSLABs.

文摘The formation mechanism of calcium vanadate and manganese vanadate and the difference between calcium and manganese in the reaction with vanadium are basic issues in the calcification roasting and manganese roasting process with vanadium slag.In this work,CaO–V_(2)O_(5) and MnO_(2)–V_(2)O_(5) diffusion couples were prepared and roasted for different time periods to illustrate and compare the diffusion reaction mechanisms. Then, the changes in the diffusion product and diffusion coefficient were investigated and calculated based on scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) analysis. Results show that with the extension of the roasting time, the diffusion reaction gradually proceeds among the CaO–V_(2)O_(5) and MnO_(2)–V_(2)O_(5) diffusion couples. The regional boundaries of calcium and vanadium are easily identifiable for the CaO–V_(2)O_(5) diffusion couple.Meanwhile, for the MnO_(2)–V_(2)O_(5) diffusion couple,MnO_(2) gradually decomposes to form Mn_(2)O_(3),and vanadium diffuses into the interior of Mn_(2)O_(3).Only a part of vanadium combines with manganese to form the diffusion production layer.CaV_(2)O_(6) and MnV_(2)O_(6) are the interfacial reaction products of the CaO–V_(2)O_(5) and MnO_(2)–V_(2)O_(5) diffusion couples, respectively, whose thicknesses are 39.85 and 32.13μm when roasted for 16 h.After 16 h,both diffusion couples reach the reaction equilibrium due to the limitation of diffusion. The diffusion coefficient of the CaO–V_(2)O_(5) diffusion couple is higher than that of the MnO_(2)–V_(2)O_(5) diffusion couple for the same roasting time, and the diffusion reaction between vanadium and calcium is easier than that between vanadium and manganese.

文摘Flexible solid-state battery has several unique characteristics including high flexibility, easy portability, and high safety, which may have broad application prospects in new technology products such as rollup displays, power implantable medical devices, and wearable equipments. The interfacial mechanical and electrochemical problems caused by bending deformation, resulting in the battery damage and failure, are particularly interesting.Herein,a fully coupled electro-chemo-mechanical model is developed based on the actual solid-state battery structure.Concentration-dependent material parameters,stress-dependent diffusion, and potential shift are considered.According to four bending forms(k=8/mm,0/mm,-8/mm,and free),the results show that the negative curvature bending is beneficial to reducing the plastic strain during charging/discharging,while the positive curvature is detrimental. However, with respect to the electrochemical performance, the negative curvature bending creates a negative potential shift, which causes the battery to reach the cut-off voltage earlier and results in capacity loss. These results enlighten us that suitable electrode materials and charging strategy can be tailored to reduce plastic deformation and improve battery capacity for different forms of battery bending.

文摘All solid-state electrolytes have the advantages of good mechanical and thermal properties for safer energy storage, but their energy density has been limited by low ionic conductivity and large interfacial resistance caused by the poor Li~+transport kinetics due to the solid-solid contacts between the electrodes and the solid-state electrolytes.Herein,a novel gel polymer electrolyte(UPP-5)composed of ionic liquid incorporated metal-organic frameworks nanoparticles(IL@MOFs)is designed,it exhibits satisfying electrochemical performances, consisting of an excellent electrochemical stability window(5.5 V)and an improved Li^(+)transference number of 0.52.Moreover,the Li/UPP-5/LiFePO_(4) full cells present an ultra-stable cycling performance at 0.2C for over 100 cycles almost without any decay in capacities. This study might provide new insight to create an effective Li^(+)conductive network for the development of all-solid-state lithium-ion batteries.

文摘A solid-state sodium metal battery has cut a striking figure in next-generation large-scale energy storage technology on account of high safety, high energy density, and low cost.Nevertheless, the large interfacial resistance and sodium dendrite growth originating from the poor interface contact seriously hinder its practical application.Herein,a modified ultrasound welding was proposed to atomically bond Na anodes and Au-metalized Na_(3)Zr_(2)Si_(2)PO_(12) electrolytes associated with the in situ formation of Na–Au alloy interlayers.Thereupon, intimate Na_(3)Zr_(2)Si_(2)PO_(12)-Au/Na interfaces with a low interfacial resistance(~23Ωcm^(2))and a strong dendrite inhibition ability were constructed. The optimized Na symmetric battery can cycle steadily for more than 900 h at 0.3 mA cm^(-2) under a low overpotential(<50 mV)of Na electroplating/stripping and deliver a high critical current density of 0.8 mAcm^(-2) at room temperature.By incorporating the above interface into the solid-state Na metal battery, taking three-dimensional Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3) as the cathode, the full battery offers a high energy density of 291 Wh kg^(-1) at a high power density of 1860Wkg^(-1).A pouch-type solid-state sodium metal full battery based on a ceramic electrolyte was assembled for the first time, and it lit a 3 V LED lamp.Such a strategy of the ultrasound welding metalized solid-state electrolyte/Na interface by engineering the Na-Au interlayer would pave a new pathway to engineer a low-resistance and highly stable interface for high-energy/density solid-state sodium metal batteries.

文摘Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs) are becoming more and more popular as the fillers in polymer electrolytes in recent years. In this study, a series of MOFs(NH_(2)-MIL-101(Fe), MIL-101(Fe), activated NH_(2)-MIL-101(Fe) and activated MIL-101(Fe)) were synthesized and added to PEO-based solid composite electrolytes(SCEs). Furthermore, the role of the —NH_(2) groups and open metal sites(OMSs) were both examined. Different ratios of MOFs vs polymers were also studied by the electrochemical characterizations. At last, we successfully designed a novel solid composite electrolyte containing activated NH_(2)-MIL-101(Fe),PEO, Li TFSI and PVDF for the high-performance all-solid-state lithium-metal batteries. This work might provide new insight to understand the interactions between polymers and functional groups or OMSs of MOFs better.

文摘The development of flame retardant or nonflammable electrolytes is the key to improve the safety of lithium batteries, owing to inflammable organic solvents and polymer matrix in common liquid and polymer electrolytes regarded as the main cause of battery fire.Herein,a series of solid-state polyphosphate oligomers(SPPO)as a three-in-one electrolyte that integrated the roles of lithium salt, dissociation matrix, and flame retardant were synthesized. The well-designed SPPO electrolytes showed an optimal ionic conductivity of 5.5×10^(-4)S cm-1at 30℃,an acceptable electrochemical window up to 4.0 V vs.Li/Li+,and lithium ion transference number of 0.547.Stable Li-ion stripping/plating behavior for 500 h of charge-discharge cycles without internal short-circuit in a Li|SPPO|Li cell was confirmed, together with outstanding interface compatibility between the SPPO electrolyte and lithium foil. The optimal Li|SPPO|LiFePO4cell presented good reversible discharge capacity of 149.4 mA h g-1at 0.1 C and Coulombic efficiency of 96.4%after 120 cycles.More importantly, the prepared SPPO cannot be ignited by the lighter fire and show a limited-oxygen-index value as high as 35.5%,indicating splendid nonflammable nature. The SPPO could be a promising candidate as a three-in-one solid-state electrolyte for the improved safety of rechargeable lithium batteries.

文摘Garnet-structured ceramic electrolyte Li_(6.75)La_(3)Zr_(1.75)Ta_(0.25)O_(12)(LLZTO)attracts significant consideration in solid-state Li metal batteries due to its wide electrochemical window and favorable compatibility with Li metal. However, the deployment of LLZTO is severely hampered by poor contact between LLZTO and Li metal anode. In this paper,an ultra-thin Al-Si interface buffer layer(10 nm)is constructed on LLZTO by a magnetron sputtering method, which allows superior wetting of Li onto the LLZTO surface due to the alloying reaction between the Al-Si layer and Li metal. The resulting Li/Al-Si coated LLZTO(ASL)/Li symmetrical cell delivers an interfacial resistance of 15.0Ωcm^(-2),which is much lower than that of 1140.3Ωcm^(-2)for the bare LLZTO symmetrical cell. Moreover, the Li/ASL/Li symmetrical cells exhibit stable plating/striping performance(800 h)with small voltage hysteresis at 1.0 mA cm^(-2).Besides,the full cell with LiFePO_(4)cathode reveals a high capacity of 124.1 mA h g^(-1)after 600 cycles at 0.5C with a lowcapacity decay of 0.032%per cycle. We believe this work will facilitate the development of solid-state rechargeable batteries.

文摘Solid-state lithium-metal batteries, with their high theoretical energy density and safety, are highly promising as a next-generation battery contender.Among the alternatives proposed as solid-state electrolyte,lithium-rich anti-perovskite(Li RAP)materials have drawn the most interest because of high theoretical Li^(+)conductivity, low cost and easy processing.Although solid-state electrolytes are believed to have the potential to physically inhibit the lithium dendrite growth,lithium-metal batteries still suffer from the lithium dendrite growth and thereafter the short circuiting. The voids in practical Li RAP pellets are considered as the root cause.Herein,we show that reducing the voids can effectively suppress the lithium dendrite growth. The voids in the pellet resulted in an irregular Li^(+)flux distribution and a poor interfacial contact with lithium metal anode;and hence the ununiform lithium dendrites.Consequently, the lithium-metal symmetric cell with void-reduced Li_(2)OHCl-HT pellet was able to display excellent cycling performance(750 h at 0.4 m A cm^(-2))and stability at high current density(0.8 m A cm^(-2)for 120 h).This study provides not only experimental evidence for the impact of the voids in Li RAP pellets on the lithium dendrite growth, but also a rational pellet fabrication approach to suppress the lithium dendrite growth.
