However, after half a century of animal experiments and clinicalstudies, clearly and intuitively revealing its therapeutic mechanism is still a great challengefor researchers. Therefore, this experiment is based on the combination of medicine andengineering to study the immediate effects of the acupuncture method in treating patientsby recording the electroencephalography (EEG) activities of subjects during the acupunctureprocess and to further reveal the therapeutic mechanism at the brain level. Methods: Thistrial is an exploratory, prospective, single-arm interventional study involving a total ofpatients with ischemic stroke. Physicians will record EEG data from patients duringacupuncture as the primary outcome indicator. After pre-processing the EEG data, researchers will use various methods to analyze the immediate effects of acupuncture toobtain brain effectiveness. Deep learning will then be used to identify acupoint stimuli andreceive correspondence between the acupuncture effect and the brain’s internal state.National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score before and after the acupuncture process willbe used as the secondary outcome indicator. Conclusion: This is the first study protocol toapply dynamic changes in EEG to explore a range of mechanisms of action of acupuncture inthe treatment of ischemic stroke. We propose a method to analyze EEG signals ofacupuncture patients. The deep learning model will be applied for supervised training toobtain the compelling relationship between the acupuncture method and internal brainstates, providing a new prospect for the digitization of traditional Chinese medicine.展开更多

A frequency of 1, 2, or 3 Hz and duration of 5, 60, or 180 seconds were used to observe cerebral blood flow and ratio of infarct volume recovery. Results showed that stimulation at Neiguan with a frequency of 1 Hz and long duration of 180 seconds or 2/3 Hz and long duration of 5/60 seconds significantly increased cerebral blood flow and decreased the ratio of infarct volume. 文摘To investigate whether and how manual acupuncture(MA) modulates brain activities,we design an experiment where acupuncture at acupoint ST36 of the right leg is used to obtain electroencephalograph(EEG) signals in healthy subjects. We adopt the autoregressive(AR) Burg method to estimate the power spectrum of EEG signals and analyze the relative powers in delta(0 Hz-4 Hz),theta(4 Hz-8 Hz),alpha(8 Hz-13 Hz),and beta(13 Hz-30 Hz) bands. Our results show that MA at ST36 can significantly increase the EEG slow wave relative power(delta band) and reduce the fast wave relative powers(alpha and beta bands),while there are no statistical differences in theta band relative power between different acupuncture states. In order to quantify the ratio of slow to fast wave EEG activity,we compute the power ratio index. It is found that the MA can significantly increase the power ratio index, especially in frontal and central lobes. All the results highlight the modulation of brain activities with MA and may provide potential help for the clinical use of acupuncture. The proposed quantitative method of acupuncture signals may be further used to make MA more standardized.
文摘In recent years, with the change of rhythm and eating habits of the public, the number of patients with anorectal diseases has gradually increased, and postoperative urinary retention has also become more common.Urinary retention refers to the symptoms of anorectal diseases and is caused by improper urination and incompletion of urination due to surgical and pain causes that result in bladder and urine filling and are accompanied by lower abdominal distention and pain.In traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture is simple and effective as a treatment. In this article,we focus on five meridians that pass through the lower abdomen Ren meridian, kidney meridian, spleen meridian, stomach meridian, and liver meridian, namely the"five meridians,"and study the mechanism of action so as to provide new therapeutic ideas for clinical acupuncture treatment of postoperative urinary retention of anorectal diseases.

文摘Objective To probe methods and therapeutic effects of Head Acupuncture on ischemic stroke. Methods One hundred and twelve cases were randomly divided into observation group (head acupuncture group) and control group (body acupuncture group). After treatment of 28 days, changes of linguistic function and paralysis level of limbs before and after treatment were investigated. Results The total effective rate was 96.6% in the observation group and 90.7%, in the control group, with a significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion The electroacupuncture head point-through-point by penetrating two point therapy is one of effective methods for ischemic stroke.
文摘By review of clinical reports on the treatment of apoplexy in the recent ten years, the authors analyse the main factors influencing the effect of treatment, and point out that for further improvement of the treatment effect of this disease, a strict design of the subject is needed, and it is necessary for the causes and pathogenesis of apoplexy to be analysed, so as to get a clear understanding of the relations among various factors affecting the effect of the treatment and the principal and subordinate position, then the best plan for treatment can only be selected.
文摘Clinical observation on 434 cases of rheumatoid arthritis shows that the warmingneedle method is markedly effective for rheumatoid arthritis (RA). It also helps to reveal the mecha-nism and function of acupuncture and moxibustion (AM) in curing diseases. Laboratory observationconfirms that the warming needle method can modulate the body’s immunity function significantly. Inthe future, more attention should be paid to point selection and manipulation method so that the bestresult can be obtained.
文摘This paper introduces the clinical experiences on acupuncture and moxibustion of Zhang Zhongjing, who was regarded as “medical Saint” of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He gave indications for acupuncture and moxibustion, developed robbing fire or inversing fire acupuncture principles to treat febrile diseases. His theories on acupuncture and moxibustion are precious and could be reference in clinical practice.

文摘Objective:Cluster needling at scalp acupoints has showed satisfying effects with acute cerebral ischemia in clinic whereas the mechanisms are not yet clear completely. This study investigated the influence of cluster needling at scalp acupoints on neurological function,as well as on neurofilament protein 200(NF200)and signal transducer and activator of transcription 3(STAT3)expression,in rats with acute cerebral ischemia.Methods:Fifty-four Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned in equal numbers to the false operation(group F),model(group M),or cluster needling scalp acupuncture(group C)groups. Each group was divided into three subgroups,of six rats each,by acupuncture treatment time(24 h,7 days, and 14 days). The rat local cerebral ischemia model was prepared using a modified suture occlusion method.Group C rats were treated by cluster needling scalp acupuncture, while groups F and M did not receive acupuncture treatment.Neurological effects were evaluated using the Longa score.NF200 and STAT3 expression were measured by western blotting. Results:At 24 h,there were no statistical difference between group C and group M in nerve function(P>.05).On days 7 and 14,nerve function scores in group C were significantly lower than that in group M(respectively were P<.05 and P<.01).In addition,on days 14,expression of NF200 was significantly higher in group C compared with group M(P<.05).Compared with group M,STAT3 expression was also higher in group C on days 7 and 14,although these differences were not statistically significant(both P>.05).Conclusion:Cluster needling scalp acupuncture were efficient in improving nerve function scores in rats with cerebral ischemia, and promoting the recovery of motor function. These improvements were associated with increases in NF200 and STAT3 expression.
文摘Objective To compare the effect of laser needle-knife and acupuncture with medication for vertebral-artery-type cervical spondylosis (CSA). Methods The 88 outpatients of CSA were divided with single-blind method into Treatment Group (treated by laser needle-knife and acupuncture) with 48 patients in it and Control Group (treated by Intravenous drip of Compound Salvia Miltiorrhiza Injection and oral taking of Flunarizine (Sibelium) with 40 patients in it. Before the treatment, the two groups were without difference statistically. Results In the treatment group, the curative rate was 60.42% and the total effective rate 97.92%. In the control group, the curative rate was 30% and the total effective rate 87.5%. In statistics, P〈0.05, a significant difference existed between the two groups. Conclusion The effect of laser needleknife and acupuncture for CSA is obviously better than that of medication, worth spreading.
