Methods: Sixty-five cases of facial spasm were randomly divided into control group (n = 31 ) and treatment group(n = 34). Patients of the treatment group were treated with penetrative acupuncture from Qienshencong(前神聪 Extra) to Xuanli(悬厘 GB 6), Baihui(百会 GV 20) to Qubin(曲鬓 GB 7), etc., and those of control group treated with acupuncture of Taiyang(太阳 EX-HN 5), Yengbai(阳白 GB 14), Quanliao(颧髎 SI 18) and Xiaguan(下关 ST 7), etc. once daily, 20 sessions altogether. Results. After treatment, of the 31 cases and 34 cases in control and treatment groups, 5 and 12 were cured, 8 and 13 had remarkable improvement, 11 and 8 had improvement, 7 and 1 failed, with the total effective rates being 77.42% and 97.06% respectively; and the therapeutic elfact of treatment group was significantly superior to that of control group(P〈0.01). Conclusion; Scalp acupurcture has an obvious therapeutic effect for facial spasm.展开更多

Thefunction of the nervous system, brain electrical activity mapping and somatosensory evoked potentialswere observed before and after the treatment. It was found that the indexes in the two groupschanged significantly (P【0. 05). The curative effects in Group A were better than that in Group B(P【0. 001 ). The curative effects of scalp acupuncture on acute cerebral infarction were objectivelyconfirmed by means of electrophysiological studies.展开更多

Method Fifty patients of post-herpetic neuralgia treated with needle-embedding therapy from January 2013 to June 2014 at Department of pain of the Second People's Hospital of Yibin City were selected. At each time of needle-embedding therapy, 4-8 points were selected. Patients were treated once a day, 5 times for a course of treatment and received a total of 1-3 courses of treatment. Meanwhile, the curative effect was analyzed in accordance with Criteria of Diagnosis and Therapeutic Effect of Diseases and Syndromes in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Result Among the 50 patients, the markedly effective rate was 84.0% (42/50), the effective rate was 16.0% (8/50) and the total effective rate was 100.0%. Conclusion Needle-embedding therapy for the treatment of post-herpetic neuralgia offers a good curative effect.展开更多

Methods: Seventy-six patients with stable angina pectoris were divided into needle-embedding therapy group (group A) and basic treatment group (group B) according to the random number table, with 38 patients in each group. Needle-embedding therapy combined with basic treatment was adopted in group A, and needle-embedding was given once every other day, the needles were retained for 24 h each time and three times of treatment were given each week. basic treatment was applied solely in group B. Four weeks of treatment which means one course were given in two groups, efficacy observation and evaluation were carried out after 1 course of treatment. Results: After treatment, the total effective rate of clinical efficacy was 89.47% in group A and 71.05% in group B (p 〈 0.05), and the total effective rate of electrocardiograph (ECG) efficacy was 84.21% in group A and 63.16% in group B (p〈0.05). After treatment, the score of limitation of motion, score of the sta- ble state of angina pectoris and the score of angina pectoris attack in group A increased by 0.7%, 34,5% and 16.9% respectively when compared with the scores before treatment (t= 1.623, p 〈0.0l; t=3.867, p 〈 0.01 ; t = 1.958, p 〈 0.05), and according to the comparison of the score of satisfaction with treatment and the score of disease perception before and after treatment, the difference was not statistically significant (t=4.972, p 〉 0.05; t=0.999, p 〉 0.05). According to the comparison of the score of limitation of motion, score of angina pectoris attack, score of satisfaction with treatment and the score of disease per- ception in group B before and after treatment, the differences were not statistically significant (t = 1.726, p 〉 0.05; t = 1.594, p 〉 0.05; t = 4.385, p 〉 0.05; t = 0.999, p 〉 0.05). The score of: the stable state of angina pectoris increased by 4.9% (t = 1.780, p 〈 0.05). Conclusion: Needle-embedding in acupoint therapy can effectively improve the clinical efficacy, ECG efficacy and the score of Seattle angina questionnaire (SAQ) of stable angina pectoris.展开更多
