The mode division multiplexed hologram(MDMH) is fulfilled by the scattering of guided waves to free space with respect to different modes. According to different mode numbers, these guided modes have different responses to the multiplexed hologram, and then give rise to different holographic images in reconstructions. In experiments, we show two kinds of MDMHs based on TM0∕TE0 and TE0∕TE1 modes as examples. Our approach could enrich the holography method that favors on-chip integration.展开更多

Here we propose an intuitive model to analyze these phenomena from the viewpoint of the nanoparticle-induced multiple scattering of the azimuthally propagating mode(APM). The model unveils explicit relations between these phenomena and the phase change and energy loss of the APM when scattered at the nanoparticle; the model also explains the observed polarization-dependent preservation of one resonance and the particle-dependent redshift or blueshift. The model indicates that the particle-induced coupling between the pair of unperturbed degenerate whispering gallery modes(WGMs) and the coupling between the WGMs and the free-space radiation modes, which are widely adopted in current theoretical formalisms, are realized via the reflection and scattering-induced free-space radiation of the APM, respectively, and additionally exhibits the contribution of cross coupling between the unperturbed WGMs and other different WGMs to forming the splittingresonant modes, especially for large particles.展开更多

The optical chaotic signals were produced by using the semiconductor laser that is numerically modeled by employing laser rate equations. These two channels were multiplexed and then propagated through single mode optical fiber (SMF) of 80kin length with dispersion compensating fiber of 16 km length. Erbium doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) was used to compensate the power losses in the SMF. In lhis paper, we investigated the effects of polarization mode dispersion (PMD) and nonlinearities especially stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) on 2 channel DWDM chaotic communication system by varying the length of the SMF and value of differential group delay (DGD).展开更多
