With the help of the knowledge transfer theory and data from scientific literature databases, we explored the behavior of scientific researchers during their scholarly communication, and studied the factors that influenced the behavior of researchers under network environment. Design/methodology/approach: Based on the literature databases of CNKI, Elsevier Science Direct and Springer Link, we used the knowledge transfer theory to construct a model for describing the scholarly communication process, which attempts to find out factors that may influence the communication behavior of researchers. With a focus laid on the absorption behavior of researchers during the knowledge acceptance process, we defined the independent variables of the model and proposed hypotheses on the basis of a comprehensive literature study. Afterwards, college students were invited to participate in a questionnaire survey, which was designed to prove our research model and hypotheses.Findings: Our results showed that during the scholarly communication, it is not the professional knowledge, but the ability and willingness for knowledge acceptance, organizations’ importance and internal atmosphere as well as knowledge authority and relevance that have played a positive significant role in the knowledge transfer performance. In addition, our distance indicators showed that knowledge distance and knowledge transfer performance have significant negative correlations. Research limitations: This study is mainly based on a questionnaire survey of college students, which may limit the generalization of our research results. In addition, more resource types need be considered for further studies.Practical implications: Under network environment, scholarly communication performance based on knowledge transfer theory could greatly contribute to the enrichment of the contentof the knowledge transfer theory, and stretch out the range of the field. In addition, our result could help commercial scientific database providers to learn more about the users’ needs, which would not only benefit both scientific communities and content providers, but also promote scholarly communication effectively. Originality/value: Compared with existing researches which mainly emphasized the model construction of scholarly communication, our study focused the knowledge relevance during the scholarly communication and influence factors that impacted on the performance of knowledge acceptance under the network environment, which could provide helpful guides for further studies.展开更多

However, research efforts have mainly focused on the semantic similarity of short texts. Document-level semantic measurement remains an open issue due to problems such as the omission of background knowledge and topic transition. In this paper, we propose a novel semantic matching method for long documents in the academic domain. To accurately represent the general meaning of an academic article, we construct a semantic profile in which key semantic elements such as the research purpose, methodology, and domain are included and enriched. As such, we can obtain the overall semantic similarity of two papers by computing the distance between their profiles. The distances between the concepts of two different semantic profiles are measured by word vectors. To improve the semantic representation quality of word vectors, we propose a joint word-embedding model for incorporating a domain-specific semantic relation constraint into the traditional context constraint. Our experimental results demonstrate that, in the measurement of document semantic similarity, our approach achieves substantial improvement over state-of-the-art methods, and our joint word-embedding model produces significantly better word representations than traditional word-embedding models.展开更多

文摘With the intersection and convergence of multiple disciplines and technologies, more and more researchers are actively exploring interdisciplinary cooperation outside their main research fields.Facing a new research field, researchers often hope to quickly learn what is being studied in this field, which research points are receiving high attention, which researchers are studying these research points, and then consider the possibility of collaborating with core researchers on these research points. In addition, students who are preparing for academic further education usually conduct research on mentors and mentors’research platforms, including academic connections, employment opportunities, etc. In order to satisfy these requirements,we(1)design a research point state map based on a science map to help researchers and students understand the development state of a new research field;(2)design a bar-link author-affiliation information graph to help researchers and students clarify academic networks of scholars and find suitable collaborators or mentors;(3)designs citation pattern histogram to quickly discover research achievements with high research value, such as the Sleeping Beauty papers, recently hot papers, classic papers and so on.Finally,an interactive analytical system named PubExplorer was implemented with IEEE VIS publication data, and its effectiveness is verified through case studies.
文摘By applying the computational tool CiteSpace, the paper explored 9,553 documents relevant to spatial justice research from the Web of Science Core Collection and their 384,786 references. With the visualization of the document/author co-citation and co-author/term network and the detection of pivotal nodes, the knowledge structure, evolution process, and emerging trends of spatial justice research have been teased out.The findings revealed that the spatial justice research is mainly supported by geography, environmental science, and urban studies and planning.Having formed 15 document co-citation clusters since 1993,the mainstream of the research directions consists of distributive justice in geography and socio-spatial relationship focusing on specific vulnerable groups.Four stages of the spatial justice research, combined with a comparative view on spatial equality, equity, and justice, depicted how its concept grew up from describing the subtle relationship between space and justice to a specific research topic accompanied by research collaboration network.Learning from environmental justice, spatial justice has been developing its indepth theories and methodologies since the 2000s,but still lacking sufficient connection with each other. Its recent research enjoys the diversity of researching orientation, scale, and object. The continuous improvement of spatial justice assessment has helped to introduce spatial justice towards a new researching domain, while there also has been a tendency of the return of theoretical study in the recent decade. This scientometric review demonstrates a relatively comprehensive measurement of spatial justice research, which establishes the background for future theoretical approaches and provides practical instructions for spatial justice participatory development and social activities.
