Finite element simulations of nonlinear Lamb wave propagation are performed for Lamb wave mode pairs with exact and approximate phase velocity matching, with and without group velocity matching, respectively. The evolution of time-domain second harmonic Lamb waves is analyzed with the propagation distance. The amplitudes of primary and second harmonic waves are calculated to characterize the acoustic nonlinearity. The results verify that phase velocity matching is necessary for generation of the cumulative second harmonic Lamb wave in numerical perspective, while group velocity matching is demonstrated to not be a necessary condition.展开更多

It theoretically investigates a proposed active and a typical passive compensating scheme with the undepleted-pump approximation. The result shows that the angular and spectral band- widths are proportional to the number of crystal pairs as expected, but the temperature tunability is basically unaltered owing to inter-plate pulse interference. At the same time, an analysis reveals that a misuse of the phase mismatch factor is responsible for a historic controversy about pulse interference. A real design of an ultraviolet second harmonic generation (262.5 nm) is considered in a passive periodic [3-Barium Borate-calcite configuration, where the inter-plate pulse interference is found to form an azimuthal tuning restriction and to lower plate length tolerance. A subsequent numerical simulation with pump depletion is in good accordance with theoretical prediction.展开更多

But heavy ion beam irradiation effects have rarely been studied. The structural, optical, and non-linear optical properties of the doped crystals were analyzed with the characterization studies, such as powder XRD, UV-Visible and second harmonic generation (SHG) measurements, respectively. The results for doped KDP crystal were compared with the results of the pure KDP crystals. The experiment results showed that Li^3+ irradiation leads to the development of a well-defined surface H peak in dye doped KDP crystals. The stability of KDP single crystal was improved by doping organic dyes. The nano-islands of dye in KDP were likely to be dissolved and enhance the non-linear optical properties of these materials.展开更多

We have also investigated the role of capping on the SHG, temporal stability and relaxation of dipole alignment. Corona poling techniques were employed to orient the dopants into the noncentrosymmetric structure required to obtain the SHG. The effect of capping with a polymeric encapsulant below the glass transition temperature of the polymers on the unpoled and corona poled thin films was studied. 文摘Transition metal dichalcogenides(TMD)heterostructure is widely applied for second harmonic generation(SHG)and holds great promises for laser source, nonlinear switch, and optical logic gate. However, for atomically thin TMD heterostructures, low SHG conversion efficiency would occur due to reduction of light-matter interaction length and lack of phase matching.Herein,we demonstrated a facile directional SHG amplifier formed by MoS2/WS2 monolayer heterostructures suspended on a holey SiO_(2)/Si substrate. The SHG enhancement factor reaches more than two orders of magnitude in a wide spectral range from 355 to 470 nm,and the radiation angle is reduced from 38°to 19°indicating higher coherence and better emission directionality. The giant SHG enhancement and directional emission are attributed to the great excitation and emission field concentration induced by a self-formed vertical Fabry-Pérot microcavity. Our discovery gives helpful insights for the development of two-dimensional(2D)nonlinear optical devices.

文摘Two co-crystalline compounds containing telluric acid and iodate, namely AIO_(3)·H_(6)TeO_(6)(A=Rb^(+),NH_(4)^(+)),were investigated as potential nonlinear optical materials. They crystallize into isostructural and consist of isolated[IO_(3)]group and[H_(6)TeO_(6)]molecule linked by hydrogen bonds and charge interactions of Rb^(+)/NH_(4)^(+).They show phase-matching second harmonic generation responses with moderate intensity of 1.2×KDP(Rb^(+))and 1.1×KDP(NH_(4)^(+)).They also possess large optical band gaps over 4.25 eV and can be easily grown from aqueous so-lutions.The local dipole moment calculations based on the structures of AIO_(3)·H_(6)TeO_(6)(A=K+,Rb^(+),NH_(4)^(+))series of compounds indicate that the change of A+cation in their structural frame causes a slight change in the arrangement directions of[IO_(3)]and[Te(OH)_(6)]groups,and further induces their SHG responses of different in-tensities at the macroscopic level.

文摘Understanding the mechanisms and spatial correlations of crystallographic symmetry breaking in ferroelectric materials is essential to tuning their functional properties. While optical second harmonic generation(SHG)has long been utilized in ferroelectric studies, its capability for probing complex polar materials has yet to be fully realized. Here,we develop a SHG spectral imaging method implemented on a home-designed laser-scanning SHG microscope, and demonstrate its application for a model system of(K,Na)NbO3 single crystals.Supervised model fitting analysis produces comprehensive information about the polarization vector orientations and relative fractions of constituent domain variants as well as their thermal evolution across the polymorphic phase transitions.Multiple domains and phases are clearly delineated at different temperatures, suggesting the phase competitions in(K,Na)NbO3.Besides,we show that unsupervised matrix decomposition analysis can quickly and faithfully reveal domain configurations without a priori knowledge about specific material systems. The SHG spectral imaging method can be readily extended to other ferroelectric materials with potentials to be further enhanced.
