In the design, transmitter contains pre-and-main...The paper proposes a novel transceiver in physical layer for high-speed serial data link based upon Universal Serial Bus (USB) 2.0, comprising transmitter and receiver. In the design, transmitter contains pre-and-main driver to satisfy slew rate of output data, receiver includes optimized topology to improve preci- sion of received data. The circuit simulation is based on Cadence’s spectre software and Taiwan Semiconduc- tor Manufacture Corporation’s library of 0.25μm mixed-signal Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) model. The front and post-simulation results reveal that the transceiver designed can transmit and re- ceive high-speed data in 480Mbps, which is in agreement with USB2.0 specification. The chip of physi- cal-layer transceiver has been designed and implemented with 0.25μm standard CMOS technology.展开更多

When configured as a USB host controller, it supports all USB 1.1 transaction types; supports automatic preamble insertion, and automatic SOF generation and transmission. An approach to install/update software automatically on embedded platform was proposed. This approach derives from above feature based on embedded environment with Linux OS. With the advantages of the real-time supervisory control apparatus,the measured values could be displayed on the liquid crystal display (LCD) immediately.In this study,the basic sensor was the tin oxide pH electrode,which was fabricated by radio frequency (r.f.) sputtering system on the indium tin oxide (ITO)/glass substrate.Moreover,the major blocks of the system consist of the tin oxide electrode-based ion selective electrodes (ISEs),an analog front-ended readout circuit,a microcontroller with built-in analog to digital (A/D) converter.In addition,by the embedded system design,the measurement results can be transmitted to a portable system or computer through the Universal Serial Bus (USB) and Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter (UART) interface immediately.According to the experimental results,the multi-sensing system has high performance and reliability for pH,K^+,and Na^+ detection.展开更多

The traditional USB developing is only to develop USB peripheral devices. For the USB2.0 peripheral devices IP core system that has wide application foreground, some interference inevitably exists in signal transmitting. Some fault-tolerant design and test methods must be adopted in order to correctly transmit and receive data. Combining with a project, this paper introduces in detail about measures, hardware implement, and test methods of fault-tolerant design about USB2.0 peripheral devices IP core system. Fault-tolerant design measures, noise reduction measures of signal processing, fault-tolerant methods about data encode and decode, package identification (ID) field fault-tolerant methods, and cyclic redundancy checks fault-tolerant methods are discussed. The paper also presents some hardware implement methods about fault-tolerant design of data decode and test methods about fault-tolerant design of USB2.0 IP core system. These methods can offer the reference for development of USB2.0 system in all kinds of electronics instrumentations.展开更多
