Implementing VMI service pricing strategy for 3PL corporation considering recovery costs

The collector managed inventory(CMI)management idea is introduced based on the comparison of manufacturer and third-party logistics(3PL)implementing vendor managed inventory(VMI)services.Considering recovery costs,the service pricing strategies for 3PL corporations implementing VMI are studied to meet two conditions of participation constraints and incentive-compatibility constraints.The numerical simulation results indicate that the supply chain partners' profits change after considering recovery costs,and the 3PL corporation's profits and the total profits increase first,and then decrease.The retailers' and manufacturers' profits also increase.The total profits of the supply chain have a characteristic of increasing first and then decreasing with the increase of the callback ratio of unsold products.The concrete extremum point is codetermined by price flexibility,service pricing of the 3PL corporation,callback price and callback ratio. 展开更多

The authors consider an M/M/1 queue with two types of customers,where customers are classified into two categories according to their psychological feelings when facing uncertainty about queue information.In the unobservable queue,experienced customers could accurately calculate their expected utilities,while first-time customers are loss-averse and the psychological feelings could incur additional gain-loss utilities.By defining customers'willingness to pay,the authors derive the equilibrium joining-balking behaviors for each type of customer and obtain the service provider's optimal pricing decision.The authors also classify the implications of the obtained results. 展开更多

It is difficult to measure the total change of the telecom service price (TSP) in China due to the complexity of TSP and the diversity of telecom service. This article analyzes the relation between telecom service revenue and traffic volumes of telecom service and deduces the method of measuring the total change in tendency of telecom price, which is based on the consumer's actual payment for telecom services. After describing the changing trend of TSP with the time series data from 1949 to 2000, the TSP showed a continuous declining tendency during 1949~1975. In contrast, the TSP showed a rising tendency from 1976 to 1991 and a sharp declining trend after 1992. Empirical tests and actual background of telecom reform support the results. 展开更多
