A Collaborative Framework for Mould Design Based on Service-Oriented Architecture

Aiming at improving the traditional object-oriented three-layer architecture for collaborative design, a service-oriented framework for mould design is established by adding a Web service layer to decoupling the direct linking of user interface to functional modules,making the system being platform independent and programming language independent,greatly facilitating the reuse of existing software and hardware resources. .NET technology is adopted to implement the framework. An example scenario is introduced to demonstrate how the system works.

Describing Service-Oriented Architecture by Extended Darwin

Describing Service-Oriented Architecture （SOA） is critical in the development of Web based system, in this paper, an approach for describing SOA by extended Darwin is proposed. The requirements for describing SOA, which are different from that of ordinary architecture, are highlighted firstly, and then a solution for extending Darwin is presented. Using the extended Darwin, service components and connectors can be described explicit by the extended construct, as well as precise operational semantics of SOA by the π-calculus. Finally an example of supply-chain management system is given for manifesting the effect of the extended Darwin.

Privacy Protection Framework with Defined Policies for Service-Oriented Architecture

Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) is a computer systems design concept which aims to achieve reusability and integration in a distributed environment through the use of autonomous, loosely coupled, interoperable abstractions known as services. In order to interoperate, communication between services is very important due to their autonomous nature. This communication provides services with their functional strengths, but also creates the opportunity for the loss of privacy. In this paper, a Privacy Protection Framework for Service-Oriented Architecture (PPFSOA) is described. In this framework, a Privacy Service (PS) is used in combination with privacy policies to create privacy contracts that outline what can and cannot be done with a consumer’s personally identifiable information (PII). The privacy policy consists of one-to-many privacy rules, with each rule created from a set of six privacy elements: collector, what, purpose, retention, recipient and trust. The PS acts as an intermediary between the service consumer and service provider, to establish an unbiased contract before the two parties begin sending PII. It is shown how many Privacy Services work together to form the privacy protection framework. An examination of what current approaches to protecting privacy in an SOA environment is also presented. Finally, the operations the PS must perform in order to fulfill its tasks are outlined.

Theory and Application of Multi-robot Service-oriented Architecture

In order to solve the problem of heterogeneity in multi-robot cooperation, a new service-oriented architecture is proposed for multi-robot cooperation. Service provision and energy consumption are the basic cooperative behaviors. A set of basic concepts of robot service are proposed. A layered multi-robot service-oriented architecture is designed. Finally, the experiments illustrate the superiority of the proposed architecture which makes robot's underlying functional components be transparently encapsulated and the services in upper layer be transparently invoked, which will effectively avoid the impact of heterogeneous characteristics in multi-robot cooperation and facilitate the system construction, expansion, restructuring and maintenance.

A Service-Oriented Architecture of Cyber-Physical System and Study on Two Key Issues

As the basis of designing and implementing a cyber-physical system (CPS), architecture research is very important but still at preliminary stage. Since CPS includes physical components, time and space constraints seriously challenge architecture study. In this paper, a service-oriented architecture of CPS was presented. Further, a two-way time synchronization algorithm for CPS service composition was put forward. And a formal method, for judging if actual CPS service meets space constraints, was suggested, which was based on space-π-calculus proposed. Finally, a case study was performed and CPS business process designed by the model and the proposed methods could run well. The application of research conclusion implies that it has rationality and feasibility.

PESOI: Process Embedded Service-Oriented Architecture

Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) has drawn significant attention recently, and numerous architecture approaches have been proposed to represent SOA-based applications. The architecture of SOA-based applications is different from traditional software architecture, which is mainly static. The architecture of an SOA-based application is dynamic, i.e., the application can be composed at runtime using existing services, and thus the architecture is really determined at runtime, instead of design time. SOA applications have provided a new direction for software architecture study, where the architecture can be dynamically changed at runtime to meet the new application requirements. This paper proposes a Process-Embedded Service-Oriented Infrastructure to build SOA-based applications. This infrastructure embeds the entire software lifecycle management and service-oriented system engineering into the application developed on this infrastructure. Thus, the users can easily re-develop the applications during operation to meet the changing environments and requirements, through the supports provided by the embedded infrastructure.

Neighborhood Search Based Improved Bat Algorithm for Web Service Composition

Web services are provided as reusable software components in the services-oriented architecture.More complicated composite services can be combined from these components to satisfy the user requirements represented as a workflow with specified Quality of Service(QoS)limitations.The workflow consists of tasks where many services can be considered for each task.Searching for optimal services combination and optimizing the overall QoS limitations is a Non-deterministic Polynomial(NP)-hard problem.This work focuses on the Web Service Composition(WSC)problem and proposes a new service composition algorithm based on the micro-bats behavior while hunting the prey.The proposed algorithm determines the optimal combination of the web services to satisfy the complex user needs.It also addresses the Bat Algorithm(BA)shortcomings,such as the tradeoff among exploration and exploitation searching mechanisms,local optima,and convergence rate.The proposed enhancement includes a developed cooperative and adaptive population initialization mechanism.An elitist mechanism is utilized to address the BA convergence rate.The tradeoff between exploration and exploitation is handled through a neighborhood search mechanism.Several benchmark datasets are selected to evaluate the proposed bat algorithm’s performance.The simulation results are estimated using the average fitness value,the standard deviation of the fitness value,and an average of the execution time and compared with four bat-inspired algorithms.It is observed from the simulation results that introduced enhancement obtains significant results.

Service-oriented air combat simulation architecture

Service-oriented air combat simulation architecture is proposed.The core design goal is high agility which represents the ability to accommodate the simulation requirements change.Its main idea is to design model units as services that can communicate and interoperate with any other services at runtime.A service is autonomous and is fully defined by a description contract which contains some combination of syntactic,semantic,and behavioral information.Based on the architecture,air combat simulation system can be described as an abstract composition of description contracts.It becomes concrete at run time as services that implement the constituent description contracts are discovered and bind.The whole process is a continuous run-time activity that responds to simulation needs and the availability of services.This provides benefits of implementation transparency and minimal dependency between models.Thus,simulation system can minimize the impact of change on it and increase the overall efficiency to respond to requirements change.

Architecture of Dynamic Service Composition Using Logic Petri Nets

Services are preprocessed based on clustering techniques in the levels of function and similarily of services. Service clustering is modeled by means of the passing value indeterminacy of logic Petri nets. Thus service clustering can be described, and the services with indeterminacy parameters can be modeled formally. Thus service composition is investigated under the classified architecture of service clustering. The architecture of dynamic service composition is given, and logic Petri nets are used for service realization. Services can be combined rapidly and automatically, and the path of a composition service can be constructed by automatic inference.

ENTERPRISE INTEGRATION PLATFORM BASED ON SERVICEORIENTED ARCHITECTURE

To achieve information integration, process integration and application integration of enterprise, an enterprise integration platform （EIP） based on service-oriented architecture （SOA） is built. The enterprise integration model depending on encapsulating the business processes as well as the enterprise applications by the neutral and standard web services is presented. The problem how to discover the existed enterprise resources and share them was resolved depending on the mechanism of publishing and discovering the services. The EIP is integrated closely with product lifecycle management （PLM） system so that the process integration as well as orchestration of the business process services is implemented by encapsulating the workflow engine of PLM system. Not only process integration and application integration, but also information integration based on the bill of material （BOM） conversion driven by process are achieved. Finally, an interpretive, qualitative case study on EIP is conducted for this research.

An Open IoT Framework Based on Microservices Architecture

With the continuous development and evolvement of Internet of Things(Io T), monolithic application becomes much larger in scale and even more complex in structure. This leads to poor scalability, extensibility and maintainability. In response to those challenges, microservice architecture has been introduced in the field of Io T application, due to its flexibility, lightweight and loose coupling. However, the existing Io T framework of microservice mainly focus on a specific domain, therefore, this greatly limits its application. In this paper, we propose a general microservice system framework for the Io T application, which is a better scalable, extendable and maintainable architecture. We introduce its system design and related microservices, and emphasize on core service and device communication from service layer to physical layer. It has better capacity to support interoperability and accommodate heterogeneous objects. In addition, this framework can easily achieve more application integration such as automation, intelligence, Geo service and Big Data.

Service Model and Architecture for Beyond 3G System

Beyond 3G (B3G) system, the future mobile communication system, is envisioned as a user-centric, open, and convergent information infrastructure capable of providing personalized services. It is extremely important to develop service models and architectures for B3G system. A three-dimension service model is proposed. The dimensions are identified as service support scope, service capability definition, and adaptive feature elements. Then, the hierarchical service architecture for B3G is introduced. The enabling technologies for B3G service architecture are discussed in this paper, such as Virtual Home Environment (VHE), service support environment, service openness, distributed computing, intelligent technology, and profile.

Multi-Layer Tree Hierarchical Architecture Based on Web Service

To solve the problem of the information share and services integration in population information system, we propose a multi-layer tree hierarchical architecture. The command （Web Service Call） is recursively muhicast from top layer of tree to bottom layer of tree and statistical data are gatbered from bottom layer to top layer. We implemented the architecture by using Web Services technology. In our implementation, client program is the requestor of Web Services, and all leaf nodes of the last layer are only the provider of Web Services. For those nodes of intermediate layers, every node is not only the provider of Web Services, but also the dispatcher of Web Services. We take population census as an cxample to describe the working flow of the architecture.

Towards Enhanced Program Comprehension for Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Systems

Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is an emerging paradigm for orchestrating software components to build new composite applications that enable businesses, government agencies and other organizations to collaborate across institutional boundaries. SOA offers new languages and a variety of software development tools that enable software engineers to configure software as services and to interconnect services with other services independent of differences in operating platform and programming and communicating languages. However, SOA composite applications introduce additional complexity into the construction, deployment and maintenance of software, for the purpose of aggravating the issue of program comprehension, which is at the heart of software maintenance. This article describes the challenges in SOA program comprehension and reports on the results of a two-part case study aimed at identifying information that would help a SOA software maintainer. Analysis of the results indicates a need for higher-level abstractions and visualizations that can enhance conventional text-based search to support SOA program understanding. This paper then reports on several specific abstractions, visualization methods, and the development of an intelligent search tool to enhance comprehension of the relationships and data within a SOA composite application.

A Service Composition Approach Based on Sequence Mining for Migrating E-learning Legacy System to SOA

With the fast development of business logic and information technology, today＇s best solutions are tomorrow＇s legacy systems. In China, the situation in the education domain follows the same path. Currently, there exists a number of e-learning legacy assets with accumulated practical business experience, such as program resource, usage behaviour data resource, and so on. In order to use these legacy assets adequately and efficiently, we should not only utilize the explicit assets but also discover the hidden assets. The usage behaviour data resource is the set of practical operation sequences requested by all users. The hidden patterns in this data resource will provide users＇ practical experiences, which can benefit the service composition in service-oriented architecture （SOA） migration. Namely, these discovered patterns will be the candidate composite services （coarse-grained） in SOA systems. Although data mining techniques have been used for software engineering tasks, little is known about how they can be used for service composition of migrating an e-learning legacy system （MELS） to SOA. In this paper, we propose a service composition approach based on sequence mining techniques for MELS. Composite services found by this approach will be the complementation of business logic analysis results of MELS. The core of this approach is to develop an appropriate sequence mining algorithm for mining related data collected from an e-learning legacy system. According to the features of execution trace data on usage behaviour from this e-learning legacy system and needs of further pattern analysis, we propose a sequential mining algorithm to mine this kind of data of tile legacy system. For validation, this approach has been applied to the corresponding real data, which was collected from the e-learning legacy system; meanwhile, some investigation questionnaires were set up to collect satisfaction data. The investigation result is 90% the same with the result obtained through our approach.

A taxonomic framework for autonomous service management in Service-Oriented Architecture

Since Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) reveals the black box nature of services,heterogeneity,service dynamism,and service evolvability,managing services is known to be a challenging problem.Autonomic computing (AC) is a way of designing systems that can manage themselves without direct human intervention.Hence,applying the key disciplines of AC to service management is appealing.A key task of service management is to identify probable causes for symptoms detected and to devise actuation methods that can remedy the causes.In SOA,there are a number of target elements for service remedies,and there can be a number of causes associated with each target element.However,there is not yet a comprehensive taxonomy of causes that is widely accepted.The lack of cause taxonomy results in the limited possibility of remedying the problems in an autonomic way.In this paper,we first present a meta-model,extract all target elements for service fault management,and present a computing model for autonomously managing service faults.Then we define fault taxonomy for each target element and inter-relationships among the elements.Finally,we show prototype implementation using cause taxonomy and conduct experiments with the prototype for validating its applicability and effectiveness.

Service Customized Space-Air-Ground Integrated Network for Immersive Media: Architecture, Key Technologies, and Prospects

The space-air-ground integrated network(SAGIN) is regarded as the key approach to realize global coverage in future network and it reaches broad access for various services. Being the new paradigm of service, immersive media(IM) has attracted users’ attention for its virtualization, but it poses challenges to network performance, e.g. bandwidth, rate, latency. However, the SAGIN has limitations in supporting IM services, such as 4 K/8 K video, virtual reality, and interactive games. In this paper, a novel service customized SAGIN architecture for IM applications(SAG-IM) is proposed, which achieves content interactive and real-time communication among terminal users. State-of-the-art research is investigated in detail to facilitate the combination of SAGIN and service customized technology, which provides endto-end differentiated services for users. Besides, the functional components of SAG-IM contain the infrastructure layer, perception layer, intelligence layer, and application layer, reaching the capabilities of intelligent management of the network. Moreover, to provide IM content with ultra-high-definition and high frame rate for the optimal user experience, the promising key technologies on intelligent routing and delivery are discussed. The performance evaluation shows the superiority of SAG-IM in supporting IM service.Finally, the prospects in practical application are high-lighted.

Towards a Service-Oriented Architecture for a Mobile Assistive System with Real-time Environmental Sensing

With the growing aging population, age-related diseases have increased considerably over the years.In response to these, Ambient Assistive Living（AAL） systems are being developed and are continually evolving to enrich and support independent living. While most researchers investigate robust Activity Recognition（AR）techniques, this paper focuses on some of the architectural challenges of the AAL systems. This work proposes a system architecture that fuses varying software design patterns and integrates readily available hardware devices to create Wireless Sensor Networks（WSNs） for real-time applications. The system architecture brings together the Service-Oriented Architecture（SOA）, semantic web technologies, and other methods to address some of the shortcomings of the preceding system implementations using off-the-shelf and open source components. In order to validate the proposed architecture, a prototype is developed and tested positively to recognize basic user activities in real time. The system provides a base that can be further extended in many areas of AAL systems,including composite AR.
