文摘The dynamic pile-soil interaction in a liquefied site was investigated by means of numerical simulation and shaking table tests in this study.Based on the results from the shaking table experiment, the cross-correlation analysis of the soil displacement-pile bending moment and superstructure acceleration-pile bending moment was performed to study the influence of kinematic interaction and inertial interaction on the seismic response of piles.A relatively reasonable and accurate finite difference numerical analysis model of liquefiable soil-pile group-superstructure dynamic system was established.Through numerical simulation, the understanding of kinematic interaction and inertial interaction in the shaking table test was verified. The mass, damping and period of the superstructure were selected as variables to carry out parameter analysis to further study the influence of inertial interaction on the pile-structure failure mechanism. The results show that the influence of kinematic interaction on the pile was much greater than that of inertial interaction. The mass of the superstructure was the most important parameter of inertial interaction, and dynamic characteristics of the superstructure also had an effect on inertial interaction. The effect of inertial interaction on the part near the pile tip was more significant, indicating that the failure near the pile tip is closely related to inertial interaction.
文摘Past research has focused on the factors that influence liquefaction under normal shaking conditions. However, studies on parameters that influence the reliquefaction potential of saturated deposits during repeated shaking events are limited. In this study,an attempt has been made to examine the influence of acceleration amplitude and shaking duration on liquefaction and reliquefaction potential under repeated shaking conditions is conducted.1-g uni-axial shaking table experiments were performed on saturated ground prepared with 40%and 60%relative density. The prepared ground was subjected to alternate longer and shorter shaking durations(40 and 20 s)of repeated incremental 0.1 g,0.2 g,0.3 g and 0.4 g acceleration loading, respectively. The variation in density, excess pore water pressure(EPWP),cyclic resistance ratio(CRR)and surface settlement were estimated. The results showed that due to repeated incremental shaking events, reliquefaction was observed on the prepared ground.During longer shaking duration, the post-liquefied soil showed density improvement with improved soil resistance. However, the application of shorter duration loading followed by longer shaking reduced the beneficial effect of density improvement by disturbing the densified ground.Due to this, the ground was found to be more susceptible to reliquefaction in the subsequent incremental longer shaking event.

文摘The quantification of transparent exopolymer particles(TEP) by colorimetric method is of large error and low repeatability, one major reason of which is related to the absence of clear definition and evaluation for part steps of the original method. It is obscure that the 80% sulfuric acid solution, acted as the extraction solution in the determination of TEP,is prepared based on a volume ratio or mass ratio.Furthermore, the change of solubility of recently available Gum Xanthan(GX) from the market means that the original protocol is no longer applicable, and the grinding of GX stock solution with a tissue grinder is replaced by shaking with a rotating shaker in the study to prevent the excessive dissolution of GX.We found that different preparation techniques could result in the varied concentrations of 80% H_(2)SO_(4).The duration of shaking during the preparation of standard solution significantly affected the slope of the calibration curve, which caused different correction results of TEP.The impacts of different extraction solution concentrations and shaking time of GX solution on the quantification of TEP were investigated based on the field sampling and laboratory analysis. The extraction capacities of H_(2)SO_(4) with different concentrations for Alcian Blue were distinct, but had limited effect on the final measuring result of TEP.The change of the standard curve slope came along with the variation of shaking time, which markedly altered the detection limit and calibration result, and the extended shaking time was in favor of the determination of low-concentration TEP.It was suggested that the extraction solution concentration, shaking time and filtration volume of standard solution are required to be well controlled and selected to obtain more accurate results for TEP with different concentrations.

文摘In this research, two shake table experiments were conducted to study the effects of non-liquefiable crust layer and superstructure mass on the responses of two sets of 22 pile groups to liquefactioninduced lateral spreading. In this regard,an inclined base layer overlain by a very loose liquefiable layer was constructed in both models;while only in one model,a non-liquefiable crust layer was built.A lumped mass, being representative of a superstructure, was attached to the cap of one pile group in both models. The models were fully instrumented with various sensors, including acceleration, displacement, and pore water pressure transducers. Also, the piles were instrumented with pair strain gauges to measure pure bending moments induced by cyclic and monotonic loadings associated with ground shaking and lateral spreading, respectively. The results showed that the existence of the non-liquefiable crust layer increases both the maximum and residual soil displacements at the free field and also the maximum bending moments in the piles. The results of the experiments indicated that the crust layer induces a high kinematic lateral soil pressure and force on the piles which are not present in the crustless case. The crust layer increases the pile cap displacement before liquefaction, albeit decreases it after liquefaction, due to the elastic rebound of the piles in the liquefiable layer. The crust layer postpones both liquefaction triggering and dissipation of excess pore water pressure. The existence of the superstructure mass on the pile caps decreases the acceleration amplitude of the pile caps, while increases their maximum displacement.
文摘A wrap-faced embankment model on soft clay soil subjected to earthquake motion was investigated in this study. The study was conducted both experimentally using a shaking table and numerically using PLAXIS 3D software. The amplification of acceleration, displacement, pore water pressure, and strain response were measured while varying input accelerations and surcharge pressures.Time histories of the Kobe record of the 1995 Hanshin earthquake were used as the input seismic motion. The input acceleration was 0.05 g,0.1 g,0.15 g,and 0.2 g,and different surcharge pressures were 0.70 kPa,1.12 kPa,and 1.72 kPa with relative density of Sylhet sand fixed to 48%.The output data from the shaking table tests and the numerical analysis performed through the PLAXIS 3D software were compared, and these findings were also compared with some earlier similar studies. The acceleration amplification, displacement, pore water pressure, and strain(%)changed along the elevation of the embankment and acceleration response increased with the increase in base acceleration. The increase was more noticeable at higher elevations. These findings enrich the knowledge of predicting the dynamic behavior of wrap-faced embankments and enable the design parameters to be adjusted more accurately.

文摘To explore the cumulative deformation effect of the dynamic response of a tunnel crossing the hauling sliding surface under earthquakes, the shaking table test was conducted in this study.Combined with the numerical calculations, this study proposed magnification of the Arias intensity(MIa)to characterize the overall local deformation damage of the tunnel lining in terms of the deformation characteristics, frequency domain, and energy.Using the time‐domain analysis method, the plastic effect coefficient(PEC)was proposed to characterize the degree of plastic deformation, and the applicability of the seismic cumulative failure effect(SCFE)was discussed. The results show that the low‐frequency component(f1 and f2≤10 Hz)and the high‐frequency component(f3 and f4>10 Hz)acceleration mainly cause global and local deformation of the tunnel lining. The local deformation caused by the high‐frequency wave has an important effect on the seismic damage of the lining. The physical meaning of PEC is more clearly defined than that of the residual strain, and the SCFE of the tunnel lining can also be defined. The SCFE of the tunnel lining includes the elastic deformation effect stage(<0.15g),the elastic–plastic deformation effect stage(0.15g–0.30g),and the plastic deformation effect stage(0.30g–0.40g).This study can provide valuable theoretical and technical support for the construction of traffic tunnels in high‐intensity earthquake areas.

文摘Parkinson’s disease(PD)is a prevalent neurological disorder around the globe, currently affecting over 6 million people globally[1].It is estimated that by 2040,this number may double to more than 12 million[2].Aging is strongly associated with PD,as it is a significant risk factor for its development[3].Clinically,PD presents with various motor and non-motor signs.Movement-related issues mainly consist of slowed motion, involuntary shaking at rest, stiff muscles, and balance difficulties. At the same time,non-movement-related issues include impaired sense of smell, sleep disturbances, bowel irregularities, feelings of sadness, and problems with the body’s automatic functions[4].The typical pathological features of PD patients include the gradual loss of dopaminergic neurons within the substantia nigra pars compacta, coupled with the buildup ofα-synuclein(α-Syn)in neurons, the aggregates of which form inclusions known as Lewy bodies[5].The A53T mutant of humanα-Syn has a propensity to aggregate,a characteristic closely associated with the neurotoxicity seen in familial PD[6].A synthesis of both in vitro and in vivo research indicates that the misfolding and aggregation ofα-Syn are key pathogenic mechanisms in the development of PD[7-9].
