Study on the Integration of Tourism Industry and Intangible Cultural Heritage—A Case Study of the Core Blackland in the Cold Region,Suihua City of China

Integration,innovation and mutual promotion of intangible cultural heritage and tourism development were studied from the perspective of industrial integration.Suihua City,the core blackland in the cold region,was taken for an example to discuss feasibility and necessity of integrating intangible cultural heritage and tourism industry by analyzing its natural geographical characteristics and intangible cultural heritage.Patterns of such integration were analyzed from 4 aspects:tourism in location regions of intangible cultural heritage,development of tourist souvenirs,festival tourism,dynamic tourism of intangible cultural heritage.Suggestions were given for the integration of intangible cultural heritage and tourism industry in Suihua City,further exploration and innovation of intangible cultural heritage valued to create brand effects,guiding and protective role of government stressed.

On the Regional Coordinated Development Between Tourism Human Resource and Tourism Industry in China

Tourism is one of the typical labor intensive industries and tourism human resource(HR) is the main factor for regional discrepancy of tourism industry.The paper takes China as research region and evaluates the level of tourism HR and the level of tourism industry of 31 provinces respectively.First,the paper constructs evaluation index of regional tourism industry and tourism HR.Then,the paper gets the evaluation scores of every province by applying the principal components analysis and statistical package for the social sciences processing.Second,the paper builds the tourism development-tourism HR matrix and divides the matrix into four quadrants.Finally,the paper points out the problems of tourism HR that exist in the 31 provinces and puts forward development strategy.

Integration degree of tourism industry based on AHP-fuzzy comprehensive evaluation

By reviewing the traditional measure methods of the integration degree of the tourism industry, we concluded that measure methods of the integration degree of the tourism industry can only be limited to the levels of theoretical analysis due to the defect of the statistical data and the statistical structure. With the help of concept of fusion field and fusion entropy of the tourism industry, a physical model of integration of the tourism industry is established and index system based on AHP is proposed. Using AHP-fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method, the integration degree of Jiangsu and the country's tourism industry are studied. The influencing factors are analyzed and the corresponding countermeasures are proposed.

Tourism as an Industry in Heritage Site-A Case Study on World Heritage Site of Fujian Tulou

Cultural heritage is seen as a cultural capital. The heritage tourism increases the local employment and income, however, brings some problems at the same time, changing the traditional living way and industrial structure. The sustainability of economic development by tourism is also questioned. Fujian Tulou is a world heritage site in China, inscribed in 2008. The nomination has brought great changes to the sites, especially the flourishing tourism industries by the local communities as well as the tourism companies. The latter also take part in the management of the heritage site and get most of the income. The data in economic areas is analyzed in this study and explains the cultural tourism as a positive drive for the local economy, which contributes little to the life of locals. With the analysis of the changes and benefits from the tourism, we have found that tourism, as a dominant industry, might be a potential negative element for heritage conservation. According to the different situations of sites in Fujian Tulou, a proper planning of management is in need to integrate the tourism, conservation and development.

Thinking on Exploitation of Tourism Resources and Development of Tourism Industry in the Republic of Kiribati

The endowment of tourism resources is the material foundation for the development of tourism industry. However,at present,there is no special study about Kiribati’s tourism resources,landscape features,and industrial development inside and outside of Kiribati. Through review and analysis,the author believes that Kiribati’s national tourism resources are rich,distinctive and have high development potential,and it will play a major role in Kiribati’s economic and social development. Its tourism resources could be exploited from 9 aspects including characteristic geography,human landscape,ecological environment,water sports and historical sites. At present,the infrastructure such as transportation and communication in Kiribati is poor,and the tourism industry is still weak and small,remains at starting stage,lacks overall planning,and professional talents are short. In summary,it is necessary to be improved in many ways. It is recommended that Kiribati should vigorously develop cultural and educational undertakings,strengthen the infrastructure construction across the country,formulate national tourism development plans,focus on the construction of five major scenic tourist areas,and stick to the green,ecological and sustainable development principle.

An Empirical Study on E-commerce Service in the Western China’s Tourism Industry

With the rapid development of China’s tourism industry, e-commerce will bring about new opportunity and challenge to tourism. Hotels and travel agencies play very important roles in tourism industry and their level of application of IT prominently shows the management level and information process of whole tourism. This study uses content analysis to evaluate the web sites service of travel agencies and hotels in the Western China. Moreover, this paper puts forward strategic suggestion for the future development of tourism e-commerce in the Western China.

The Coordinated Development of Sports Industry and Tourism under the Perspective of Soft Power: A Case Study of Henan Province

As an industry representing soft power,the coordinated development between sports industry and tourism plays an important role in promoting economic growth. Using the cointegration theory,we carry out empirical test of economic growth,the output value of sport and tourism income; using the coordination theory,we carry out the evaluation of the coordinated development between sports industry and tourism.It is found in the study that there is a long-term stable dynamic equilibrium relationship among economic growth,the output value of sport and tourism income. The sports industry and tourism in Henan Province have undergone six stages( imbalance-on the verge of imbalance- barely coordinated-primarily coordinated- moderately coordinated- well coordinated). In the process of coordinated development,sports industry significantly lags behind tourism,so it is necessary to strengthen the sports industry personnel's quality,and optimize the coordination between the sports industry and tourism,so as to promote economic development level.

Entropy Method-based Performance Evaluation of the Tourism Industry in Xinjiang

The tourism industry is a strategic pillar industry in China,and its performance evaluation has been a focus of research in the academic circle of tourism economics.On the basis of making clear the connotations of tourism industry performance,this paper establishes an evaluation index system for tourism industry performance from such five aspects as of economic income,tourism employment,tourism person-time,tourism industry and tourism transportation,and then adopts the entropy method to make a comprehensive evaluation for the tourism industry performance in Xinjiang during a period of 2005~2014.Finally,this paper pertinently proposes the strategies for promoting the development of the tourism industry in Xinjiang from such four aspects as of enhancing the collaboration between the tourism industry and transportation departments,strengthening the inter-regional cooperation on tourism in Xinjiang,making integration in the tourism industry and consolidating the macroscopic adjustment and control of government and the assurance of social security,in expectation of providing references for making decisions on improving the tourism industry performance in Xinjiang.

Enhancing Tourism Industry through Community Participation: A Strategy for Poverty Reduction in Zanzibar, Tanzania

This study centred on understanding how local communities participate in tourism industry in Bwejuu Village in Zanzibar and the benefit they are getting towards poverty reduction. Specifically, the study identifies tourism industry activities and how local communities participate in improving their livelihoods, find out factors influencing local community participation in tourism sector and lastly, and identify contribution of tourism sector in enhancing local communities’ livelihoods. Interviews, observations, documentary reviews and photograph taking are methods employed to the case. The study result shows that tourist hotels, beach, seaweed, historical building archives, diving and snorkeling, sailing boats, coral reefs and lagoons as well as mangrove swamps are some tourist activities in the settlement. Both men and women involves in the tourist activities. The tourist activities noted contributing to local communities’ livelihoods in terms of employment creation, leisure, income generation, increased government revenues, schooling, health, house construction and household consumption. However, language barriers, inadequate experience of operators, poor education and training, culture, commitment of actors and poverty level are some constraints highlighted. Following these challenges, the study recommends that the government in collaboration with other development partners interested in tourism industry development may opt to ensure capacity building to local communities and tourist operators in Zanzibar, to review the policy and legislations in place as well as to encourage stakeholder involvement in Tourism sectors as prospects for its development. In conclusion, it can be asserted that if tourism developers believe that local communities will be satisfied if they are used as labourers instead of being ownership of tourism activities. Thus, there is an urgent need to enhance participation and involvement of local communities in tourism sector. These communities must be actively involved in each stage of tourism planning and development in order to ensure that all their tourism activities and products benefit the residents. This will represent a significant step towards ensuring more adequate community participates in the industry, which is essential sector for sustainable local communities’ livelihoods improvement and thereby contributing to the national economic growth and poverty reduction agenda in Tanzania and other countries of the same context.

Development strategies of leisure agriculture and rural tourism of Henan province based on industry convergence

The industrial convergence has developed rapidly,which benefit promoting the innovation of traditional industry and optimizing the industrial structure.The integration of agriculture and tourism can promote the development of agricultural economy and tourism economy.Based on the industrial convergence theory,this paper explains the necessity of convergence of leisure agriculture and rural tourism,and studies on the status quo of the development of tourism resources in Henan.Finally,it put forward the development strategies:(1)more support from the government is in need on policy,finance and using rural area;(2)the rural planning needs to be strengthened;(3)the agricultural resources needs to be integrated;(4)the incentive system needs to be built to attract talent.

The Impact of the Integration of Culture and Tourism Industry on the Upgrading of Tourism Industry Performance

Based on the provincial data of tourism and cultural industries from 2009 to 2019,this paper studies the impact of the integration of culture and tourism on the economic benefits of regional tourism in China.The results show that:①The integration level of the two industries is generally low in all provinces and regions,and the regional differences are obvious.The integration degree of the central and eastern regions is generally higher than that of the western regions.②The integration degree of culture and tourism has a significant positive impact on the economic benefits of regional tourism.The influence on the central and eastern regions is greater than that on the western regions.③The level of informatization has a positive moderating effect on the economic benefits of regional tourism caused by the integration of culture and tourism.④Government intervention has a negative moderating effect on the economic benefits of tourism.In addition,the level of regional economic development,accessibility and tourism resource endowment are also significant factors affecting the economic benefits of regional tourism.The results show that promoting the deep integration of culture and tourism,promoting the informatization of tourism and moderate government intervention in the industry are conducive to improving the economic benefits of regional tourism.
